I wear my hair layered and he always has the ends meet so when I use my curling iron the hair goes in straight edges. I moved to Visalia 4 years ago and still drive up to have him cut my hair. I found this place on Yelp. I had an hour of spare before work and they were able to accommodate a last minute appointment. It was my first time to this salon so I was a bit nervous but as soon as I talked to the staff and saw the cleanliness of this place, I felt more comfortable. The young lady that did my hair was very welcoming and had a great time talking to her. She was diligent, helpful, and made sure I was comfortable with any changes in my hair cut. My hair needed some good trimming and wanted some styling. She was able to deliver and loved the way she styled my hair. Asked for a 2in trim and hair to be thinned out a bit and my hair came out SO BAD!!! The ends are very choppy and my hair is uneven. I went back a second time and got it cut by TWO different "hairstylists" and it still came out bad. The hairstylists could not get even the simplest haircut right. Would not recommend to anyone. I thought no one could get even the simplest haircut wrong but I was wrong. Very upset because I have my senior pics coming up soon and my hair looks botched. When I say that I trust this salon, I mean it! Everyone is so nice and personable. I'm a college student and I don't get my hair done very often, but I actually had to get a color correction done by Lorena. I originally went to a popular high end salon in the Clovis area (don't wanna name drop but they moved to a new location so I'll let you figure it out from there lol) to get some highlights done and they completely butchered my hair. I have had my hair highlighted colored here at this finest establishment and they have never ever done my hair wrong! I cannot reiterate that enough I have been to other salons when I moved away for college. I have always had trouble with people not understanding how to cut my hair. Good haircut at a great price! I called and scheduled for an appointment on a Monday since they were booked out on Sunday. When I arrived Monday afternoon, there was no wait, actually, no one at all. The woman who cut my hair was very sweet and talkative. I asked for a bob cut at shoulder length, and while she listened to what I wanted, I had to ask her to cut shorter and to add in layers. After the cut was done, she straightened my hair & slicked it, which isn't the look I wanted (i want volume). Anyways, for $25, I have minimum complaints! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! DEAR GOD SAVE YOURSELF! I really didn't want to write a review about this. And I'm expecting to get blamed for what happened but there was a lot that just didn't line up. I paid $170 to get my hair bleached here. I had sections of my hair bleached before I came in. All I wanted done were my roots and a couple sections of black hair. Let me premise this by saying that I had dyed the darker sections with dark brown in December of last year. But I have dyed my own hair for years. And my child sister has even done my hair in worse conditions with better results. I had been using clarifying shampoo and dandruff shampoo to remove the dye from my hair FOR MONTHS. So I was confident that all the dye was out because my hair was back to its natural state and was washing clear. And I've bleached my hair from freshly dyed black with no issues in the past. So I refuse to believe it was my fault. I could have done it better myself. Without a single doubt. As I watched her do my hair, I kept wondering why she was using the technique that she was using and noticed she wasn't putting eight bleach to effectively cover my hair. But she's the licensed professional so I said nothing. But in my experience, doing it in that way leads to patchy results. But I bit my tongue and sat it out. Because I was trusting the process. She had me sit under a dryer twice because the first time she realized she applied it unevenly. So she went back in and reapplied the bleach on the spots she missed. I saw in the mirror. There were spots untouched by bleach that were still my natural hair color. After reapplying she had me sit under the dryer for another 15 minutes. When we went to wash my hair, it was yellow brown and black still. Spots like a cheetah. And my hair was DEAD. I sat back in her chair after watching and was mortified at the result. It was bright yellow with spots of black and brown all over. She dried my hair and was just going on about how she did a good job and how it was my fault that my hair turned out the way it did. She wouldn't show me the back like they usually do when you get a color and cut. Which I'll touch on again later. And even though she quoted me at $80-100 for the job, she told me it was going to be $170. I was so anxious and too nervous to speak up at the time, so I paid. But I went out to my car and cried for 30 minutes before driving off. When I got home I was about to assess the situation further and look at the back of my head. It was literally brown in the back. I had planned to put lavender over what I saw in the salon to cover the unevenness, there was no way it was going to cover that huge brown patch. It made sense why she didn't show me the back. And my roots were orange! It'd be one thing if only the black sections had issues. But my roots were not done properly. And that was entirely Virgin hair. And the DAMAGE! my hair is literally falling out and breaking all over. Worse than I've ever experienced in doing my own hair or having my sister do it for me. I didn't want to write a review but after much thought and consideration and discussion with other hair professionals in the area, it's clear to me that something needed to be said. Maybe I would have accepted the blame if it was about the darker sections but she literally didn't even bleach my roots properly in the rest of my head. And there's no way to cover this with color unless I do a dark color which defeats the purpose of damaging my hair this much to get light hair. DO NOT GO HERE! They will mess you up. And they canceled two appointments last second as I sat in the chair, because the stylist was sleeping in and missed them. Very unprofessional. And all I got was excuses. I regret coming here and I kind of don't trust professionals anymore. I'll be sharing this review on every platform I have access to because this was the absolute worst hair color I've gotten in my life. Even in doing my own. And I'm furious that I wasted my time and money here. And I'll likely have to chop off all my hair read more

Few years back my sister went to Joseph who butchered her hair, I recently took took my daughter thinking he should've gotten better since it's been a long time, right? Pfft. DONT GO TO JOSEPH. I went and saw Lorena.. I told her my hair had been dyed red before I had my baby and some had grown out, told her I wanted to be ALL blonde. She says no problem. She then does her own thing and leaves huge chunks oh my regular, multicolored hair out of foils. When the bleaching is done she's surprised there's dye still in my hair. Tell me she can't get the color out without me losing hair and IF I WOULD OF TOLD HER she would of done it right the first time !! Uhh I walked in and told her that and showed her. She then says she can cover it but not fix it. and that I needed to do super dark when I was originally there to go light. She mixes 2 colors together and applys it. When she's done it looks even worse. It's 3 if not 5 colors ..the hair she left out is brown and red ..the bleached part is purple and blue ... It doesn't even start at the roots. It was all over my ears and forehead, she didn't clean it off I had to go buy stuff. She gets mad when I'm pointing out how bad it looks ..tells me it's my fault and then goes " I got places I need to be , what else you want me to do" I walked out. I went there to feel good about myself and I left feeling worse. read more

Used to use Dolly alot. She does great makeup and hair do's. Her dyes don't last though and she is flaky as ever! Sometimes cancelling appt's day of.
