I believe this is my 4th or 5th time going to Scissors & Scotch and I enjoy getting my haircut here. I've read some of the lower reviews and I understand their reviews, but I've lucked out Zach is still there. I don't know if it's a Denver thing or just this line of work having the same people cut your hair each time is tough here. So, I'm glad is still working here. The checkin is always smooth and seamless and to sit back and relax with a drink before your haircut or after is always a nice perk. read more

This place is very hit-or-miss. While I understand there is a lot of staff turnover, you're not even guaranteed the same quality of cut when returning to the same stylist. My husband has had some great haircuts here, but he's also received some really bad ones from stylists who seemed very inexperienced. My son is also very particular about how he wants his hair cut. The last two times I was able to convince him to get a haircut, the result looked nothing like the photo he showed them, which is why he hates getting his hair cut in the first place. He says stylists do whatever THEY want, not what you want, and he's not wrong. I would much rather a stylist be honest and say a particular cut is outside their skill set than claim they can do it and end up butchering it. Does hair grow back, yes, but this shouldn't be a recurring issue. Consistency and listening to customers should be the standard, not the exception. read more

Scissors and Scotch was built on Client experience. As employees we are taught to be a day maker. As a recent former employee of S&S for almost 5 years it saddens me that S&S does not follow through what they preach. The photo I have uploaded was sent to my clients stating that their stylist has changed career paths. The lack of honor and false information being sent out is why I'm writing this review. I hope my clients know that this was not my choice to leave nor am I changing career paths. I love doing hair and will continue to work behind the chair. Thank you for all your support ss clients. S&S is a franchise barber shop with locations in Parker, DTC, and Lowry Blvd One. You book online for the hour appointment and you get to pick your stylist. Prices start at $38 and they also offer monthly membership for all your grooming needs. Parking lot is located behind the storefront, but you have to walk around to enter the main doors on the south side. Scotch - you get one complementary drink of your choice before or after your cut. They also have wine and beers if whiskey is not your thang. They did not have any cognac (Remy XO) but did have Ardbeg and Lagavulin from the Islay region. Drop off your kiddie at the pre school, lend your Amex black card to your wife at TarJay, plug in your Tesla Plaid at the charger, come to S&S and feel like a billion bucks! The turnover of barbers is to common at this location. YOU are always training YOUR barber how to cut YOUR hair. I was given the newest barber in the world for a back up haircut today. Chopped and ruined my haircut that Chris and I had been working on for months. Justice was the barber and she has 4 years experience. I feel you should need to have 10 years experience to work at a place that charges as much as this place does. I should expect a guaranteed perfect men's haircut for $50-$75. This is a nice place to get a haircut as well as beard trim. There is a bar in the waiting area, so you can get a drink before or after your service. Their tagline is "Come for the grooming. Stay for the booze." If you elect to pay for the membership, your haircut will include a complementary upkeep session and a free drink is included with each haircut. Pretty neat membership concept. My experience at the Lowry S&S has been positive. Austin has been doing a great job! The staff is also very helpful with rescheduling and pausing/reactivating membership. read more

Absolutely love this place! Quality service and people who go above and beyond. I made an appointment same day with an emergency haircut after my Barber cancelled on me for my haircut for my wedding. I had my first experience today on 9/24 and bought a membership because of the quality and over the top service and people. I will only be getting my haircut here from now on! DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY SELL YOU - READ ON for the fraud! What a difference a year makes. Corporate came in and cleaned house. After having four different stylists in four different appointments (none of whom I originally booked with and one of whom had been cutting hair professionally for 7 months), in May I cancelled my PREPAID membership (that I could "cancel any time for my leftover money back, but will save money") and asked to have my money refunded. I also cancelled - in person with Allie the manager(?) - my 2 kids memberships. I was told I would hear in a week for the refund. NOTHING. I then called, used the two way text function (because I was still getting messages as were my kids), reached out to the corp "want to get a franchise" email account (no corp contact on the website..hmmm), and even linkedin messaged the founder. Crickets. Yes, that is FIVE attempts to get my money back and cancel. Then, they charged my card for my kid's membership - yep, a month after I cancelled it. I went in person that Monday and spoke to Savannah (Cancel all and refund please...again), who said she would talk to the regional person Collette, who would get back to me. NOTHING. I called back that Thursday (yes, that is notice number SEVEN) and was told I would hear back. NOTHING. I finally just reached out to my credit card and reported the fraudulent charge and blocked them from future charges. (My card refunded it almost immediately after saying they would have to "investigate" first. Does that imply they didn't need to investigate this vendor?). Today I got yet another text and an email letting me know about -- yet another - new person. So, I replied to both cancelling again. (#8-9 if you are keeping score). So, when they tell you to join and you can cancel anytime, it is a LIE. They not only didn't but then tried to charge it again (feels like theft). They still have my unused $$ that I am due (feels like more theft). NEVER AGAIN and you still owe me money!! PS - the other posts about firing and lying to clients about them "pursuing another career path" are accurate. We got 2 of them. read more

I was pretty happy with S&S until recently. It's a short walk from my house, so super convenient. I had built a relationship with a stylist I really liked and who listened to me and truly cared about giving me good service. The drink with a cut is nice but obviously a gimmick. Anyways, I had settled in there well enough that I signed up for an annual membership last August. All was going well, and then the last two times I went for a cut the energy in the place felt weird. Each time, my stylist told me that management had blazed through the place earlier in the day firing several stylists and front desk staff. Earlier this week, I got a text from them saying that they needed to reschedule me with a different stylist because mine had "changed career paths." She hadn't--she'd been fired earlier in the day (and, insult to injury, had found out from another client who was notified before she was). Lying about what's going on and treating me like I'm too stupid to figure it out is not a good look. This is not a good way to build a client base, S&S. I'm loyal to my stylist, not to S&S. I will not be renewing my annual membership, and as soon as it's over, I'll be finding my old stylist and going to her wherever she happens to be working at the time. Everyone here is friendly and professional. I've never been able to have someone get my hair just right, but every time I go Veronica kills it. The store prices are a bit expensive but for the work she does it's worth it, I wouldn't want anyone else to cut my hair. read more

Management appears to mistreat staff, (overheard myself when there) they focus way too much on hair clippers and don't use scissors enough. Coffee is atrocious. The blonde manager seems to be sketchy and overbearing. read more
