After seeking a new barber in my new neighborhood, I found this place on Yelp. Very easy to book an appointment and the app has a nice UX. Got in with Shelby (I needed a cut before a business trip) and she did a great job, easy to chat with, spoke about all the details I wanted and she did a great job. Aesthetics of the shop were clean, modern, comfortable and music vibe was great. All the barbers seemed to have good relationships with their clients and it felt welcoming upon entering. After being a customer for roughly a year, I ended up getting covid and testing positive the day I had an appointment, out of a courtesy to the business I called a few hours before my appointment to cancel as I did not want to infect others. After rescheduling myself and coming back in they then refused to schedule me ahead of time and stated I need to schedule myself since I can't keep appointments. I missed one out of maybe 20. Absurd. The haircuts were decent but not for the cost after such a crazy customer service issue I won't return nor would I recommend using this shop. They know how to use clippers but zero understanding of how to cut hair when the scissors come out. Several times I spelled out exactly how I wanted my hair to be cut only to have it jacked up for weeks afterwards. Pretty simple hairstyle too (gimme a #3 on sides and back and just trim the top). Sick of spending 30-min doing my hair every morning and NEEDING to use hair product just to fix their mistakes. I'd stay away if you have difficult hair. I've only had one haircut here and sadly was impressed The guy was super nice, just did a pretty bad job on my hair. Who knows, maybe I caught him on a bad day. On a side note, I found it presumptuous and quite odd that they want you to tip at time of booking, rather than after the haircut. Really enjoy this place. Is it as inexpensive as a chain place in the suburbs? No. But I still think the value is terrific, it's downtown, conveniently located from my work and house. Quality of services provided (hair cuts, beard trims) are a significant step above what I've received in those chain places and Derek has been great about with consulting with me on updating my hairstyle and product. These guys have also been great during Covid. I have been getting my hair cut and my beard groomed by Derek for years and I have ALWAYS known him to be very professional and exceptionally talented at his craft, however, today's appointment took it to an entirely different level. During my Haircut and Royal Beard Shaping Derek had an up-and-coming barber watch my services. Again, having been going to Derek for 5+ years, I know he is good, but today I got to hear him explaining the process he goes through to make sure I walk out looking & feeling like a million dollars. Derek took his time to make sure the apprentice understood what he was doing and clarifying each method for cutting my hair. Then we moved onto my beard and I figured the tutoring would be complete - not the case. More elucidating and demonstrating for a very lucky student continued until I got out of the chair. While my hair can be very finicky, Derek took the time to educate this new barber, and by osmosis, me, as to what it takes to produce a fantastic result given the sad state of my hair and beard when I walked in. Derek is a master and I have a whole new level of respect and a deeper appreciation for my barber. If you are looking for a top notch experience, I unequivocally recommend the Royal Beard Shaping combined with your haircut. I went to Rosemont as I was passing through Denver and needed a haircut badly. My haircut was top notch and I would absolutely come back if/when in the area. Further, the shop was very clean, up-to-date with latest and greatest equipment and the barbers themselves were very professional. From a COVID standpoint, everything was handled with ease and care. The appointment and payment was made via their online app, thus no exchange of cash or credit card was required. Both barbers were wearing their masks the entire time I was in the store - as was I while getting my hair cut. The barber instructed me when and how to remove portions of my ask when he needed to cut that area, never allowing my mouth or nose to be exposed during the process. The level of commitment to keeping everyone safe is second-to-none. From the time you walk in, Doug-the-door-guy sprays your hands, ensures your masked (available if needed), takes your temperature, and ushers you to the waiting area which is properly distanced. The team of barbers work extremely hard to ensure every facet of the operation is safe, clean, and efficient. It goes without saying that I would recommend Izzy and the rest of the guys at Rosemont, however, in full disclosure, they are SO good that I limit my recommendations to only my closest friends because I would like to still be able to get an appointment. Highly recommend Aaron and Izzy! Both are meticulous and really care about perfect cuts. I'm VERY particular about my hair. I have typical Asian hair that's really difficult to cut because it grows out/doesn't lay flat. Cutting my hair is basically sculpting with clippers and shears and these guys get it right every time. Plus, these guys are really down to earth and friendly. It's like catching up with buddies every two weeks when I get my cuts. I've been getting cuts from Derek, the shop owner, since before the opening of Rosemont and his work/character is a testament to how great Rosemont turned out. The highest quality of barbers, products, and customer service. Their COVID procedures are also fantastic (customers get their hands sprayed before entering the shop, masks are required, etc.) and they've been totally acceptable with managing haircuts around masks, which I cannot imagine is easy. The guys in the shop are also all easy to chat with which adds to the comfort. All of this is just icing on the cake: the true testament is the fact that these guys are excellent barbers. They're always learning new techniques, studying styles/cuts, and sharing knowledge (I know this personally because they've used me as a body for some of their in-shop training sessions).
