I visited Trapped during Easter weekend with one other person. We completed 2 rooms. These are my thoughts and observations. - I don't think they're mixing parties, so it was me and my plus one doing 8 person escape rooms by ourselves. This isn't a point against them, I'm just pointing it out. - Capone is easily doable with two people if they work efficiently and cooperate. - I feel like Alcatraz can not be completed without asking for two clues for a specific reason. One code you need is etched on something, but the prop has been handled so many times that the code is wearing off and it can't be seen well with the naked eye. Another is hidden in a prop that looks like it can't be interacted with. - The staff was friendly. We arrived early for our second game and she let us start as soon as we walked through the door. I'll be back at some point to try out their other escape rooms. I'd highly recommend the Capone room. read more

Had so much at Trapped Escape Game during our vacation to Pigeon Forge! We did Asylum, which I believe was one of the more difficult ones and we escaped with only 4 seconds left to spare!! The staff was super courteous. One thing I like about this one is that you get unlimited clues even though we only used it like four times. The room itself was well planned and intricate. This was one of the best activities we experienced on our Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge vacation. We did the Insane Asylum room and it was awesome! Quite difficult but definitely an excellent activity for those who like mystery, puzzles, and/or team building challenges. The staff was great too and very friendly in explaining the rules. We chose this escape room company because the other escape places in Tennessee cost more (and I felt like they were the same company/rooms I've seen in Orlando). We chose Apocalypse, which was about a zombie outbreak. It was a lot of fun, with a dark atmosphere but no jump-scares/loud noises to startle you. You have to be very observant with this room. I've done plenty of escape rooms, and either I was out of it or things were more hidden than I'm used to. There were two things I missed that made me want to slap my forehead in annoyance with myself. The only downside was they forgot to place the dry erase marker in our room, so there was literally a part where I turned to my husband and said "Either there's a marker hidden in this room or they forgot it". We tried to tell them, but it's one of those places where you don't speak directly to them- you raise your hand and they have a typed clue given. Therefore they didn't give us the marker, but luckily there was a second one once we accessed another area. We ended up escaping using 5 clues (I think we would've needed only 3 if we had the marker). The room was difficult but do-able, even with only 2 people. I would go back for a different adventure! The room was fantastically decorated and I liked the tempo of the rooms! read more

My boys did Asylum and did not escape---they are 14. They had to unlock about 8 lock boxes and got down to the last one. Maybe with a few more it would have been a success. There was just 3 of them. It cost them or should I say me about $70 for all 3 of them total. Not too bad of an investment for entertainment for an hour... compared to $30 for them to ride go carts for 5 minutes!!! read more

My kids were begging to try an escape room, and so we figured since it was our last day in Tennessee, and having nothing else planned, we should book our reservation. Pigeon Forge has several businesses to choose from, all offering different types of escape room experiences. Upon coming across this spot, the Alcatraz room peaked our interest the most. We quickly reserved our spot, 20mins prior to it starting. Arriving at the site, the guy that greeted us asked me to fill out some forms and led us to our selected room. The room was just what you would picture an old prison room to look like. It was equipped with locks, written walls, a toilet, sink, and some other theme-related items. We were ready for the fun to begin. You have to try and guess the correct lock combinations to unlock all the cool stuff, while on your journey to freedom. If you're anything like us, and don't know where to begin, you're allowed infinite clues upon request. Don't want to give too much away, but we enjoyed it more than I thought! Great bonding time, healthy fun, all while working your noggin'. Oh, and yes - we did escape! read more

This was our third escape room but first one at Trapped. We did Asylum and loved it (we escaped!). Great hosts and environments they were all friendly and fun. We enjoyed it so much we're going back again before our trip is over! They have the best / most helpful clues I've seen yet. I saw some complaints in reviews about people saying clues didn't necessarily help them and one of my teammates said the same thing however if you read closely they're probably pointing out a detail you're doing wrong if you think you're already doing what the clue says, just pay closer attention! In my experience I felt my Trapped experience was a 4. Our game was fun and challenging. The host Jae was really informative in the intro. She helped provide us a few clues throughout our game when we asked for them as a group. The only suggestion to increase a final excitement boost for those who do or don't escape would be to give a play-by-play story line of how your team solved each step. I also would have enjoyed a few props at the end for our photo opportunity. Having some that say you didn't escape or you did add a fun element to your finale. We took a group of 14 and found our way out of the Asylum. We finished, in 56 minutes, the most awesome mystery clue game that I have ever played. It was so much fun trying to piece together all the clues to accomplish the mission. All of the group joined to make it all possible. The staff helped us with a couple obstacles along the way. Would give it NO STARS if I could. RUDEST PEOPLE ON EARTH. I asked two questions and got snapped at by two different employees. I never thought 'is there a restroom' and 'can my 5 yr old go in with the teens' questions to pssss people off. Also, if you don't have all their 'RULES' memorized don't ask about them or you will get your head snapped off again. I was signing the waivers at the iPad they showed me and they got pssst because I was standing in front of the cash register--WHERE THEY TOLD ME TO DO IT as they were attached to the counter so it's not like I could move. These people need jobs where they don't deal with people. Was having a great vacation until these pathetic excuse for people were encountered. We tried to look up the 'rules' before going and the website info wouldn't pull up, only the booking info would pull up. Tried on 3 diff devices but smart ass employee pulled up 'rules' on her computer no problem to 'prove' her point. We live local and will NEVER bring our groups here again. I was willing to pay for myself to go in with the 5 yr old since it was 'obviously my mistake' I couldn't pull up their rules then she continued to inform me that it's 'state law' and we can't 'babysit' your kids. AFTER I was already paying to go 'babysit' my kids myself. Bunch of Smart Ass people. The lady was at least in her 30's so you can't blame it on the fact she was young and dumb. Last night we did the Haunted Cabin room. We had a blast! We've done a couple before. This was a group of two 50 year olds and one 29 year old. We also had someone in a walker, and they were able to participate. My recommendations - try all ideas, write on the white board anything that could be important later (numbers, dates, sequences, etc.), talking it out as a group helps, work the room systematically (each choose a corner or go left to right,) check high and low. We have a rule if we get stuck for 3-5 minutes - like trying different ideas and hit silence for 3-5 minutes, then ask for a clue. Don't wait 15 minutes when you are probably super close to figuring it out, go ahead and ask. We escaped with 2 mins and 16 seconds left! (Also, no restrooms at the facility, you have to go next door.) read more

Great way to spend some family time! This was our first ever escape room experience and we are officially addicted! My 13 year old daughter wanted to do this for her birthday and after reading some reviews I wasnt convinced this was a great kid activity for the price. I was WRONG! We had a group of 5: my husband, my self, and our three daughters ages 15, 13, and 9. There's an availability of 8 people per room so if you dont fill all 8 spaces you could end up with other people in your group. My daughter chose the Dead Zone room (who doesn't love zombies, right?) which we were warned was the hardest. You're put into a small room and watch a video about the background of how you got there, then the exploring begins. Without giving away too much, I'll just say you have to find clues and solve brain teasers to get to the next room, then find secret rooms, solve more puzzles, lots of surprises, and finally HOPEFULLY escape! You get 60 minutes and 3 clues if you need them. Your host watches you through a camera and gives your clues on a TV screen that's also displaying your timer. Our host was a lovely young lady, I didnt catch her name (sorry) but she was amazing in pushing all of us to keep trying without using our clues. She was extremely helpful in the fact that we had a younger child playing with us and we escaped just in time ;) There was some physical activity involved (i.e. crawling, kneeling, climbing) so make sure atleast a couple people in your group can handle that part if everyone cant. At first I thought the price seemed a little steep ($148 for our group) but after the hour of fun we had, definitely worth the money! It seemed a little busy and a lot of the rooms were filling up quick later in the day so I recommend booking online ahead of time especially if you have a group going. read more

Don't waste your money. The clues provided were reasonable up to a point and then they become ridiculous. One relied upon matching a drawing to a feature of the room. The drawing was inaccurate and unprofessionally done making it nearly impossible to move to the next step. When we asked for clues, they gave us worthless hints about whatever we were already trying. If they knew what they were doing, they could have given a hint about how to move forward. When our time was up, our guide didn't even know how to solve the puzzle. He had to go get a manual to work it out. When it was pointed out that the basic clue was inaccurate, he had no response. He was actually rude and offended that we were questioning the setup -- no acknowledgement of our frustration at being stuck on the same thing for 20 minutes with absolutely no help from the supervisors of the game. I have done several other excellent escape rooms in the past. This one was not well thought out and reviewed by someone with a modicum of knowledge to figure out the error and our guide did not know enough to understand our point of view.
