I like ice cream, but I don't love it, EXCEPT when it comes from Scoop Around. The first time I went it was because I was on a walk with my boyfriend and his mom and they wanted to go. I wasn't even expecting to get anything. When I walked in though, I tried a spoon of the key lime flavor they had at the time. I expected it to taste like key-lime-flavored-ice-cream but it tasted like a scoop full of key lime PIE The texture even felt like pie because there were delicious hunks of graham crust inside. I was converted. BUT, even more importantly, this shop is run by passionate people. The second time we went in was weeks or even a little over a month later and they remembered us. They gave us a pup cup for my boyfriend's dog while he waited outside with him and they were so helpful and patient with me and his mom. We were indecisive and might have been hard to communicate with because we struggled through our decision making process in Spanglish. She was trying in both languages to explain to me what she wanted but my help wasn't needed at all because the people at Scoop got the gist of what flavor she was craving (rum and raisin) and did their best to come up with something adjacent. We drove by this place on the way to dinner and I couldn't get it out of my mind, so we stopped for dessert on the way home. The flavor selection here is insane in the best way. We tried 3-4 samples and they were all so good. We ended up splitting a couple scoops - double chocolate something and one with graham crackers. Such a great, creamy consistency.
