This place is awesome! My partner and I left a wedding in the area and still felt hungry, so we decided after all the dancing and singing to cool our sore throats with some ice cream. While at first I was concerned about finding somewhere to and be able to park so late in the evening in the middle of the city, my fears were assuaged when we pulled up to this location. Parking was free by the time we pulled up, and there was ample space for us to be close to the store. While we walked in about 10 minutes before close, all the employees were still polite, patient, and very helpful. After some samples, I decided on the blueberry muffin and the espresso chunk flavors. Both were awesome, but I do wish I had more of that blueberry muffin! It had the perfect balance of sweet blueberry with cinnamon crumbles in a mild cream. I'm still thinking about it! The prices were pretty standard when compared to other ice cream around, but I'm sure you'd be hard to find such fun flavors and good quality elsewhere. Omg! This ice cream is a must stop if you are ever in the area. It was located next to the Incline Mountain and was a great addition to our trip. Clumpies is a MUST when in Chattanooga! I have been a huge fan of the local ice cream chain since my first time trying it 5+ years ago. I always made an effort to stop there every time I'm in town. After a heavy Italian dinner, we decided to skip dessert at the restaurant and grab some Clumpies. It was pretty busy and there was quite a long line, but I didn't mind since I'm super indecisive and I needed all the time I could get to pick a few out of the many flavors. As I approached the front of the line, workers behind the counter were calling out the next in line to order. I waited patiently, then realized two separate workers were calling the people standing behind me and blatantly ignoring me. I tried to subtly make eye contact but got no response, like I was invisible. The people waiting behind me looked at me confused and stepped in front of me to order. After more than one of the workers did this to me, I couldn't contain my anger and lashed out that I was next and they had skipped me. Twice already. Completely unapologetic, they took my order, I paid and after snapping a photo of my ice cream, I stormed out before I could start crying in front of everyone. As I quietly cried while eating the ice cream, I got angrier because DAMN IT the ice cream was freaking delicious, as expected. I ordered the seasonal Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp and it was the best ice cream I'd had in a long time. To this day, I'm still fuming as to how I was treated. I was humiliated (thankfully in front of strangers I probably won't see ever again). I don't want to believe it was anything other than they didn't like me as a person, and not any other reason. But I will definitely never visit this location again and don't recommend it to anyone else, either. I'm torn between 2 or 3 stars because the ice cream really is so tasty but I can't get over the triggering feeling of being overlooked, for whatever reason, I don't even want to consider the horrifying possibilities. I tagged their handle and location on Instagram and got no response. I'll let you know that I got 75+ clicks on this Clumpies location (I never get that mind of interaction on my stories lol) so I can guarantee you my followers will not visiting this one. I shared that this is my first time ever in the state of Tennessee, much less the beautiful city of Chattanooga, and was looking for a recommendation. She pointed me to the seasonal housemade fall flavors, of which I selected the pumpkin caramel cake.
