On a recent trip to we came here twice in 24 hours because it was that good. First day line was smaller and quick. We got the Whiskey Caramel Cornflake Crunch on top and espresso chocolate chunk on bottom in a cup. The whiskey flavor was delicious. Can't decide how we felt about the crunch. But the espresso was 10/10! So good. Tables in front and in back with bench seating and standing tables in front. People come and go quick which is nice since it was so hot. We grabbed a table pretty quick. Second visit was night of Pops Concert and fireworks. It was packed. Long line that wrapped around. Not only did it move fast, the workers didn't even seem stressed and were so nice with crazy line 30 minutes before closing. This time we tried the blackberry mojito and it was so refreshing! Clean bathrooms. Ice cream super high quality homemade taste feel. Highly recommend. read more

Every now and then we'll get a sweet tooth and walk into a Clumpies for some Ice cream. The place is always slammed with people especially in the spring and summer months. It's a large, clean, well lit space with a few tables and chairs in the front and back of the shop. The brownie sundae is my go to dessert of choice. Just make sure they have fresh brownies in the case. We had a bad experience twice, where the brownie was frozen solid...They offer seasonal flavors as well as the classics. What an amazing experience. Even with the long line, their ice cream is worth it. There are seasonal and signature flavors and they make their own waffle cones. But the best thing about this place is the quality and the thoughtfulness that goes into every dessert they make. There is limited indoor seating and there is some outdoor seating, but a lot of people just seemed to get it and go. After all, isn't that the purpose of an ice cream cone? You can get your ice cream without a cone, in a dish, or select from a variety of things. They have things to top your ice cream with as well, and their sundaes are phenomenal! We are definitely going back, but this is a treat yourself kind of place, and I can guarantee you that anything you get from here will indeed be a treat! read more

By far one of new favorite spots in Chattanooga. We came after the holiday music festival in the park. There are so many options to choose from. I love that you can create a flight which is actually what I opted for. The flight is $12.50 for 6 flavors. I decided to do mostly sorbets which included strawberry hibiscus sorbet, lemon basil, mango tajin sorbet, raspberry lemonade sorbet, strawberry basil sorbet and the blackberry mojito. I think the basil option were very herbal but not enough that I didn't enough them. My favorite was the blackberry mojito. I think for the price you can't beat a flight if you want to share and sample several flavors. The staff were helpful in providing patrons suggested. They moved pretty quickly as the line was from the counter all the way to the back stairwell when we arrived. read more

Anyone else try to find the best homemade ice cream places when they travel? I hope so! I mean who doesn't like ice cream and being able to taste them in different places is not only refreshing but fun! I started with trying the blackberry mojito since it was a featured item. I know what a blackberry taste like and I know what a mojito taste like but I wasn't so sure the combination hit the mark in this flavor. So I reverted to my standby favorite butter pecan. I also got the blueberry muffin in a waffle cone. Note to self: those two flavors doesn't go together well. The blueberry was more overpowering than the butter pecan and it felt like it was only eating the blueberry. BTW, I was pleasantly surprised to be handed a real mini stainless steel spoon for the tastings. Clumpies deserves a gold star for this environmental move! Parking: It looks like there is parking in the back of the store which we did not know. We risked parking at the Walgreen's across the street. Be warned that there are plenty of signs at Walgreen's that say parking is only for their customers. read more

Great as always! We are in town for Thanksgiving from Pennsylvania. We came in today with two other families and it was great for us all. We got a mix of flavors including the dairy free option. I tasted it and it was really good! We looked the back area with the long bench as it could accommodate all 17 of us. We look forward to coming again next trip to Chattanooga! Shop local? Dessert local! We've been visiting Chattanooga for years and somehow missed this gem celebrating a quarter century of hand-crafted creamery. The national ice cream chains dominate the aquarium neighborhoods but across the river sits one of the best. (Chumples has three sites around town). Their sign screams local. It states the multiple flavors (many unique) begin just 3.9 miles away from the Northshore location. Recommended: pumpkin caramel and PB brownie. Apparently Clumpies is paying the platform to remove negative reviews, so we will see if this one remains. The staff was helpful and friendly but the ice cream was terrible. We had a chocolate and an espresso. We couldn't tell the difference between the two. It was a bland, unimpressive and expensive experience. Clumpies ice cream came highly recommended. It did NOT disappoint!! The staff was helpful and hardworking. Great customer service. I tried a few samples but finally just settled on mint chocolate chunk (kiddie cup). It was the perfect amount of ice cream to cool me down. It was SO hot the day I visited. The inside was spacious and the menu board was huge so this is a plus. They had some really cool merch too! Grab and go also is available. Street parking and a nearby paid lot parking. Honestly this is my nieces and nephews favorite place to visit while in town. When they visit, we stop in for a nightly ice cream treat or drink! I love that they offer samples so you can decide what you want. I just wish there were more dairy free offerings! But this is a must stop in if you love ice cream!! read more

Worth the wait! I think we waited nearly 45 minutes for our ice cream, but they let you sample several flavors and try e prices are very reasonable. I had the carrot cake ice cream and it was DELIGHTFUL. The base ice cream tasted like cream cheese frosting and there were huge chunks of cake throughout. I loved it! I love a good ice cream spot and this place delivered. It has an old diner feel. They have a wide variety of rotating flavors, some which are pretty unique. The portions are big and they'll let you try a lot of flavors. The kids loved the bubblegum flavor where they add pop rocks which is fun. They were also really nice as well which always adds to the experience. We'll definitely come back again. read more

Clumpies was recommended by a friend who lives in Chattanooga. He told me that the sorbets are amazing and boy! Was he right! I had the Vanilla Ice Cream - a good Vanilla is always the test of a good Ice-Cream Shop - if it isn't great, the rest won't be either. With it, I had a seasonal Berry with Basil. Both were INCREDIBLE! He wasn't wrong and I must say that although the portions were huge, I couldn't not finish it! I also got myself a cute coffee mug. Three stars, because in the context of, all things considered, Clumpies was part of a great experience during our stop in Chattanooga. However, I found the staff to be quite disengaged, just moving through the line taking orders, not offering much help, and lackadaisically responding to our questions. Our selection was good, Clumpies indeed offers good ice cream, but if you add good service to a good product, the end result is a much more pleasant experience. Perhaps a bit more adult supervision might help these kids deliver a bit better service. It will be good for the establishment, and also for all parties involved in the transaction. read more

Ice cream rules in general BUT when you find an ice cream shop that truly takes their love and passion for ice cream to the next you get sweet shops like Clumpies. Many flavors and topping to choose from. Great and happy service! Everything you need to have a wonder treat packed into downtown. Just an FYI- read the menu on your phone. I had a hard time reading the menu off the wall. Maybe my eyesight and dyslexia where working against me but the red fancy text on the backboard was hard to decipher. read more

Great ice cream that's not super sweet!! They have a great variety of flavors and choices of cone, cup, bowl sizes. Just a heads up though I don't think they make more of one flavor after they run out for the day. The service was great. When we tried them the Staff was just two teen girls. They were super into Taylor Swift, and so we were stuck, listening to awful music upon our visit, but it's understandable and we just dealt with it. The facility is clean (and adorably decorated). Although some outdoor seating would put the cherry on top. We'll definitely be returning and highly recommend you give them a try. read more

The workers were patient & let us try all the flavors we asked for with a pleasant, customer oriented attitude. Very clean & kept up location as well. The daughter, granddaughter and I went in the front door to grab an ice cream, and had to walk all the way to the back of the store to order; the line was to the back door! The line did move quickly, though, and soon we were puzzling over our choices. We ended up with Pistachio for me, Butter Pecan for Papa, and that Boba thingy for the granddaughter. There were so many flavors to choose from. I've been coming here for a few years and I've always enjoyed their ice cream. I have so many late night memories with friends in downtown Chattanooga with ice cream from Clumpies. Although the line can get long at times, it moved pretty fast. I really like their Espresso Chocolate Chunk with the Waffle Cone. There's also outdoor seating in the back with lights hung up. It looks really cute. I always take my family here when we get the chance. Love the atmosphere, prices, and the service. read more

My husband got a sweet cream coke float and daughter got a vanilla shake. I ordered the chicken salad croissant for my wife, then the California club for myself and then I had to order quiche Lorraine for the table. I had filtered tap water for my drink and my wife had a can of Diet Coke with a slice of lemon and ice in a cup, provided. Service was pretty quick, between our order placement and table delivery it was 7 minutes. The quiche was custardy inside with a delicious hint of caramelized shallots to go with the bacon and cheese/egg filling. The bacon did not overwhelm. The crust was perfectly baked and a nice flakey crust. The accompanying arugula and onion salad dresses with oil and vinegar and seasonings was an excellent pairing of freshness with the richer quiche. This is a big hit, as expected when advertised on the menu as "available until sold out." The California Club was on 6 grain toasted bread with an avocado spread and aioli, bacon, turkey, tomato and lettuce. I really liked the balance of each component in this sandwich, such that nothing dominated the flavors and each distinctive was individually identifiable in the contribution to the whole sandwich. The portion was just right. The chicken salad was also good, but was the bronze medal winner compared to the other two. The croissant was flaky, but not too much. The chicken salad had just a hint of lemon and was not overwhelmed with aioli, just the right balance. This was a fantastic meal. We liked this so much, we chose to buy two loaves of bread to go, a Chattanooga Sourdough and a garlic Parmesan and also a 5 lb bag of in house ground bread flour. I need one of these in Greenville, SC, my hometown. Last thing to note, you bus your own table and there is a dish basin nearby the outside dining area in which to place your dishes. This was an excellent lunch spot. The staff were also friendly and patiently helpful. This is a must visit spot when visiting or living in Chattanooga!

At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. Dogba's verdict: Excellent brunch, friendly service, comfortable carrier dining, and unexpected goat encounters. Five paws !
