The nice thing about these donuts is that they are really light in mouthfeel. While I don't have donuts that often, my go to is usually a cake donut, cake donuts are just so dense though, and 'normal' donuts, while airy don't give you that nice bite. These donuts have a little bit of crunch on the outside, just a tad, then chewy center. I think that all the donuts are the same, just topped differently, I did not see anything different other than the Mochi Ball, which they have been out of the past few times I have visited. Mochichis, has free parking in the center parking lot, and normally when you walk in, you are greeted (not my last visit), but normally. Every time other than this last time, you are sort of killed with kindness, not that the worker was unpleasant. It is small inside, but there are around 5 tables that you can sit out, I mean most donut places are small and/or have no seating at all. Unique donuts, and I love that the uniqueness is not just adding 50 toppings to make it that way.

Service was pretty quick, which I appreciated. They also offer gluten-free cookies and other baked goods, which is a nice bonus. That said, the gluten-free cookie on its own was pretty bland--but I could see it being much better paired with ice cream. One thing to note: they don't really offer a kids size, and when I asked for smaller portions, they said it would still be charged as a regular--so parents of little ones, just a heads up! The ambiance wasn't super inviting--more of a "grab your treat and go" vibe--but with its prime location near the beach, it's easy to see why it stays busy. Overall, still worth checking out!

We were the only ones with the brilliant idea to get some scoop action. Lots of flavors to choose from, definitely something for everyone. We decided to get single scoops in waffle cones: Butter Pecan, Vanilla Caramel + Brownie and Coffee with Chocolate Chunks. I took mine and popped into the bakery next door. It definitely had the homemade ice cream parlor taste. We were all pleased with our selections. It's a generous scoop too! Staff was friendly and shared a little bit about the other location. We will definitely have to swing by the downtown location because believe it or not they have more flavors. There were a few tables outside to encourage staying and enjoying. No designated parking but we lucked out and snag a street spot within a short walking distance. Great value and look forward to trying the other flavors!

The parking lot was pretty empty. It was a bit of a cool night and there was no line. I looked at the different flavors and there were a few. I opted for a soft serve. I just got the plain vanilla, but had it dipped in the butterscotch shell because I was feeling nostalgic for the dipped cones I had as a child. The woman helping us was patient while we made up our minds. I needed napkins as it started dripping immediately, even through the thick coating. We sat at the tables outside and ate our cones. The butterscotch tasted ok but it was really thick and waxy so I didn't finish it. If I were in the area i might come back and get ice cream or soft serve again but skip the dip.

Kia was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely sweet. She gracefully listened while I shared a little of my story, offered compassion, and then proceeded to create what may have been the most ridiculously delicious dessert I've ever had. We did a gluten-free double chocolate + chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with toasted marshmallow ice cream, drizzled with hot fudge, and they heated it up... I am not exaggerating when I say I nearly cried. Actually, I did cry (just lost my job and It was that good ). Warm gooey cookie + cold melty toasted marshmallow + hot fudge magic = absolute perfection. Thank you, Kia, for your kindness on a hard day and for making a dessert I will absolutely be dreaming about.

What's even sadder...my ice cream loving fiancé never had them. I could've swore I introduced it to him, but I was wrong! I know I took my kids to the La Costa location, but they don't remember it! Wow- I've failed on so many levels! So, on a Saturday night, we ventured out to Encinitas for ice cream. Parking is hard...it's Encinitas...but we scored street parking not too far away. The store is tiny! It's probably bigger in the back, but keep this in mind- there's no seating inside and only two or three small tables outside. You're really meant to grab and go. When we arrived, there was a line out the door, but the spot to order is close to the front door, so there really wasn't a long line at all. TBB has a lot of options- everything is centered around their beloved ice cream sandwich. Lots of cookie options and even a brownie option. Mix and match... Everyone really enjoyed what they had- imagine 4 people, 4 different combinations! It's pricey, but worth it! 4 stars!

PURCHASES: *Standard x2 [2 half scoops of ice cream so you are able to try more than one flavor] -Milkiest Chocolate & Banana Cream Pudding [dairy free] -Double Dough & Black Tie Tiramisu Everything here is creamy- dare I say, some of the creamiest ice creams I've ever had. My favorite is 100% black tie tiramisu. The least favorite was the banana cream pudding- most likely due to the diary free aspect. 4 stars overall. Seating may be challenging but with our visit being on a warm night, crowds opted to stand outside or ended up sitting in truck beds.
