Chocolate peanut butter with sprinkles
Cassie C.

Cute little ice cream place with a small indoor area and picnic tables outside to eat. With so many flavors it's hard to choose, but I went for a classic chocolate peanut butter and added some chocolate sprinkles on top. They have many different cones & toppings to choose from, so you can make your ice cream your own! Sizes are also large and reasonably priced.

Me and my family come here really often like 3x a weeks and now this is really upsetting Order a 2 large Pistachio soft serve and 3 kids cups and when you open the bag to find out that both of your large soft serves look like this pretty upsetting. Lost a customer.

Excellent road side summer distraction. I enjoy stopping when in the area, especially on a hot day to Chillax with a Cone or Cup. Flavors vary and many are very unique. The shakes and sundaes are pleasing, too. In fact, all servings are plentiful. No food is served this is purely ice cream and soft serve, as it should be. Please don't forget to tip your hardworking summer staff.

This is a great little ice cream shop. It's pretty close to where I live. There are a couple of picnic tables out in the grass and a huge menu of flavors and choices (ice cream, frozen yogurt, variety of cones etc) and Gifford's makes the best Moose Tracks ice cream IMO!

The shop is super inviting and nicely set up. All of the scoopers are beyond friendly and sweet, and terrific at what they do. I think sundae construction is an extremely underrated thing that I, admittedly, can be a bit of snob about. They are all masters. Nearly all toppings and elements are homemade, as well as all of their own creamy, while not excessively heavy, ice cream flavors! Even the dairy free options are excellent, and I couldn't even detect a difference. I have been 3 times recently, and most recently had one of the best ice cream experiences of my entire life (if not the best, and all 3 times have been among the top actually). I had a scoop of "Pride" (cake batter with funfetti cake chunks) & a scoop of dairy free blueberry lemon poppyseed in a waffle cone. The extra large homemade cone was crisp and perfection. The Pride flavor was a rare instance of cake batter ice cream not tasting artificial, having an aftertaste, or being overly sweet. The cake chunks were massive. The blueberry lemon poppyseed was utter brilliance. A bright base with all the flavor of the finest lemon poppyseed muffin you could imagine with thick ribbons blueberry , I'll call it a compote (pure fresh saucy blueberry). The other 2 stops I made I ordered sundaes. The first was their May mocha sundae including chocolate cake sandwiched between 2 scoops of espresso chip ice cream with mocha sauce, a biscotti, whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. The second was their classic sundae with brownie between 2 scoops of your choice (tiramisu & blueberry), walnuts, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. Both were phenomenal and I love the presentation. The assembly, ratio of toppings and honestly every aspect of the sundae is perfect. I go at off times so I love sitting on one of the 2 benches out front. So relaxing. They also sell pints to go. I can't say enough good things. Honeycone is a true gem, as good as an ice cream shop gets. Definitely check them out and support this incredible place!!

They offer a variety of seasonal flavors, and they've just swapped to their winter ones! I got a cup with gingerbread ice cream and chocolate orange ice cream. There were a bunch of other flavors though, like a peppermint one and eggnog! Since there's a good number of seasonal flavors, it was hard to figure out which one to try! While they unfortunately don't offer samples, they do offer an ice cream flight with 6 small scoops for $13.50. Tempting, but I unfortunately didn't need 6 scoops so I went with just the two! A cute option nonetheless. They do let you mix and match flavors of the scoops you get, so I got to try two. The flavors were phenomenal, I was so happy to get try them. What a pleasant little surprise in the middle of a cute shopping area!! I certainly recommend it here.

"Well this could be the last time This could be the last…read moretime Maybe the last time I don't know" (Jagger and Richards) So when was the last time you saw a real live emu that wasn't the TV emu in the Liberty Mutual commercials? For me, the last time i saw a real emu was yesterday. The emu's name was Frosty, and he/she(?) happens to be a resident of Robb's Farm Ice Cream in Glastonbury. We also saw a donkey and half a dozen goats in fenced in fields, so Robbs sure gives you some value added to their sensational ice cream. Robbs has many of the traditional flavors, but some cryptic flavors that will send you scurrying to their posted cheat sheets to decipher the ingredients. Some of yesterday's flavors were Cow Pies, Dirty Barn Shoes, Donkey Tails, Llama Delight, Purple Calf, Tractor Grease, and Udderly Ridiculous, Not only is their ice cream terrific, but its reasonably priced. A 2-scoop cup is just $4 with tax included. I couldn't resist some of their crazily named flavors, so my two scoops were Purple Calf (black raspberry with cookie dough and chocolate chips) and Tractor Grease (chocolate with fudge and chocolate chip cookie dough). Robbs has quite a few picnic benches under a pavillion, so we grabbed a seat and enjoyed our ice cream on a beautiful summer day in the country. Truth be told, we loved Robbs a lot. Pro Tip -Robb's is cash only

The area is very cool. I parked roadside, but the entrance is around that side of the building and there was parking closer to the entrance. Out back, there is a great view of open land, grass and trees. There are a few chairs and benches and it's a peaceful spot to eat your food and let young kids run around. I bought an ice cream flight, two cookies, Silver Queen corn and heirloom tomatoes. I'm primarily reviewing the ice cream side of the business, but I'm factoring the other things in as well. Ice cream is always tasty, but I'd say the ice cream was about average for CT ice cream places making their own ice cream. I ordered a flight of Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Blueberry Cheesecake and Cow Palace. The flight came in a cup, rather than some sort of flat container that would keep the flavors separate. I feel like I had a good chance to try the Chocolate Peanut Butter (which reminded me of a Fudgesicle) and the Mint CC (which was kind of standard). The flavors below the top two, kind of blended into each other by the time I got to them. I picked up some cheesecake flavor and berry flavor and chocolate chips. All good. A highlight was the two cookies (a chocolate chip and a peanut butter chip). The kind person who helped me with my ice cream said she made the cookies that morning. My wife ate most of the cookies, but I tried both and they were fresh and delicious. I used a tomato for a BLT. It was good. The Silver queen corn was also good. Red Barn had a reasonably good selection of in season produce, baked goods such as pies, butter, milk, jarred goods. A good place to shop for stuff like that. Four Stars

It's a beautiful day in Connecticut and I'm in the mood for some outdoor dining, a lobster roll,…read morebut I don't wanna fight through the crowds of Captain Scott's Lobster Dock or drive an hour to the shore for any of those places out there. Only about a half-hour away from me is Jessica's Garden. Here's why my wife and I love coming here... Atmosphere/Appearance: Kind of out in the sticks is this gem, but many benefits of that are that there's private parking and plenty of it. Up the hill from where you park is where you go to order your food. You walk up to the counter to check out the menu or you can order from your phone. Hint, if you check-in on Yelp you may get a coupon to use online! Once you order you won't really be notified so just go to the other window around the corner from where you ordered to pick up your food. There's plenty of picnic table style seating and so much property to explore. There's woods back to check out and this place is just so peaceful. It's also... BYOB. That's what's most important. Lol, especially with a liquor store right up the street. Service: There really isn't any since you go order your own food then go pick it right back up. Food: It's a pretty simple menu here. The lobster roll is what you want. Yes, it can be pricy, but lobster just is. However, it's amazing. The lobster is soft, tender, succulent and of course, buttery. You do have to assemble the roll yourself since everything here is sold as a to-go order. It kinda makes sense. I've also had some wings and onion rings here. They're okay, nothing to write home about, but good enough for me to get each time I visit. Value: Moderate. Easily affordable, nothing crazy and the fact that it's B.Y.O.B. makes it WAY better! Lol. In conclusion, Jessica's Garden is my duck-off spot where I go if I wanna eat outdoors, am craving a lobster roll and I just wanna chill. Check this place out guys and continue to support these local businesses!

One that was not stifling. I imagine Jessica's could be absolutely amazing, but the sad part was the lobster roll. But alas the food. :( I will give them another try though because it was such a fun place. Maybe I'll try something different off the menu. Hang tight!
