My wife and I visited ft lauderdale in December 2023. We decided we wanted to try mopeds for the first time. We went to hot scooter rental. Big mistake. We rented the scooters and put the deposit on a capital one card, but the guy insisted we pay in cash. We payed in cash for a day rental, and we returned the scooters 2 hours early. No drama or issues or damage. The place was busy, but I let the guy know we're were back and I asked about a receipt, and he said it would be a bit, but we were good. It was a hot, long day and we just wanted to leave. Big mistake our my part. We left and thought all was good. About a month later there was a $600 dollar charge on the capital one card. My wife called and we found put it was from hot scooter rentals. The guy claimed we broke the contract because we made a reservation, and never showed up to rent the mopeds. We fought capital one for months, but lost because we don't have a receipt It's completely our fault for not getting a receipt, but screw the owner for ripping us off. Now we have to pay $600 for not renting mopeds that we rented and had a good time on. The owner is a thief and scammer. Plus the mopeds were decades old and falling apart.

It also sells new and used scooters and motorbikes and does repairs, while the other one does not. But more choice in scooters is just ilusory. When we asked if we can choose our scooter, the staff responded that they would choose one for us, and they gave us the worst one. So there is no choice at all. The person working there is quite arogant and when we asked a few questions he started raising his voice.
