Pat's and Gino's are a high A.... Tastee is a solid mid B. STILL GOOD. Would I go back? Yup. This is probably a good once a month kind of place. Minor gripe. Bread could be better. Mine felt like it was a little stale but re-heated with steam.... If they had a better loaf of bread and like 20% more cheese, it would be a solid A.

Different Kinds of Cheesesteaks--This One Deserves Its Own Lane…read more I think people really need to acknowledge that there are different types of cheesesteaks. Not all of them are made to be compared--some are just totally different styles, and that's not a bad thing. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while after seeing the debates about who has the best cheesesteak in Houston. The only thing that held me back was the location. I finally made the trip--and I'm glad I did. First off: customer service. Let's be real--food trucks sometimes don't deliver on this, but that was not the case here. Super friendly and attentive. It made a big difference. What I tried: * Chicken cheesesteak with shrimp - Delicious. Messy, cheesy, and indulgent. If you're someone who likes your cheesesteaks loaded with toppings like lettuce or tomato, this might not be your thing. But if you're into a bold, no-frills kind of sub? You'll love it. * Philly steak eggroll - Fire. * Fries - These were wild. Battered like fried chicken, perfectly crispy. I might honestly come back just for the fries. * Corned beef - Served Midwest-style, and the meat was on point. Tender and flavorful. Bottom line: I really enjoyed this place. It's not trying to be like everyone else--and that's exactly why it works. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd absolutely return.

We had a meeting in the area and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat in the car on the way back…read more We're not into fast food so we just did a quick Yelp search to see what was close by that was a step or two ahead of a drive through window. This place was only 0.4 miles away and has great reviews so we headed over. Oh my gosh, I'm glad we chose this spot. That was the best sandwich I've had in a long time! I ordered the first thing on the menu because it looked good, and I'm glad I did. They call it a "Chicken Run." It's made with ciabatta, grilled chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and "garlic sauce" (which, to me, was a garlic aioli). I enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed getting a hamburger somewhere else. The ciabatta was perfect! Far better than any hamburger bun. The pepperjack cheese was spicier and meltier than most and seemed to be high quality. And the flavors all melded together perfectly. A very nice lady made our sandwiches, wrapped them and bagged them. She was friendly and helpful. The place was cute. And they had board games to play with :-) My wife had the Empire Club and said she enjoyed it. They also had a reuben that looked really tempting and a chicken pesto sandwich on a baguette that caught my eye. But I'm still glad I got the Chicken Run!

However, it's well worth the stop by. The food is simply wonderful. I had butternut squash soup, which was marvelous really marvelous as if it were homemade. I also had a Desi pizza which was quite good. Shock full of ingredients all of which were well seasoned and the sauce that was absolutely wonderful. It's really a much larger place than it appears when you first approach it there's plenty of room for seating and it's very well capped. The ambience is very simple but tasteful. It's a must visit if you're in the area of parked 10 on the west side of town. Let me just say this at last there were two people who were there during the lunch hour, and they were inordinately, efficient and friendly. It's a wonderful experience.

I pulled forward to place my order and there was a human! A very courteous and knowledgeable young man there to help answer all my questions and make recommendations. I mentioned it was my first time so it would take me a bit of time to he said no problem and started walking me through the menu and recommending options based on my answers to his questions. I settled on the double bacon burger with avocados and tater tots with barbecue sauce for dipping and a flavored lemonade. He offered to add a jaggers sauce and explained with the expertise of a trained sommelier the ingredients and flavor profile of said sauce. True to his word, it was indeed smokey with a hint of pepper. The line moved quickly, payment was easy, and I was on my way. The burger was juicy and had all the right proportions for the condiments. I checked and it had mayonnaise and mustard, but it was still a bit bland. In hindsight, I should have added some of the jaggers sauce, but I didn't want the sauce to overpower the avocado and bacon flavors. Tots were good and seasoned. The drink was about 1/3 beverage and 2/3 ice so I made a mental note to ask for light ice next time. Overall, great meal with lots of options to try later. Excellent customer service and a great first impression. This was a car in the driveway after a long day meal so unfortunately, I didn't take pictures.

Even more frustrating, the food is almost always cold, like it's been sitting for a while. I could overlook a mistake here and there if the service was fast and the food was fresh, but that's not the case. The biggest issue is the wait time. This morning I pulled into the drive-thru before work and waited about 9 minutes without the line moving at all. I eventually backed out and left, and the car in front of me did the exact same thing. When you're stopping on your way to work, you simply can't risk being stuck in line for 20-30 minutes. If I were waiting that long for hot, freshly made food, it would be one thing. Instead, the food has consistently been cold whenever I do make it through the line. That's unacceptable. Management really needs to address the efficiency of this location. I used to stop here before work, but I won't be doing that anymore because I can't afford to be late waiting for cold food. This location has a lot of potential, but it desperately needs better management and faster service.
