She put together my chair and charge me only $10 where a bicycle place I had caught wanted over 100 just to put it together! They have all kinds of wonderful equipment. I hadn't even thought to buy one there. Another woman was trying out one of those little scooter things and Karen was showing her how to use it when I went in. Check them out if you need anything like wheelchair, walker, scooter, they even have those chairs that go up and dump you on the floor! I don't know what else they have but I certainly would call them first and see. Customer Service is Karen and she is just excellent at what she does, which is everything in that store. We purchased a wheelchair transport for my 86 year old mom recovering from a total hip replacement…read morefrom Bryan Texas to Boerne. For $1300. Unfortunately we didn't understand that they would not be providing the wheelchair. They advertise "medical " transport. The driver showed up in a minivan. If my mom would have had her own wheelchair she would not have been able to ride securely in the van. She had great difficulty being lifted into the van. Not safe for an 86 year old woman recovering from hip replacement surgery. We essentially paid for a very $$$$$ expensive Uber ride. The driver was a nice gentleman and he delivered mom safely. We had to pay for this service privately from our mom's fixed income because it's not covered by insurance. I spoke with case manager today from rehabilitation facility where my mom was transferred from, he confirmed that he in fact can confirmed with Everyday Health that this would be a wheelchair van transport and he was assured it would be. He and his staff were as shocked as we were when the driver showed up in a minivan. If I would have known this would be the service we would receive for my 86 year old mom post total hip replacement, I would have done it myself.

The ASC is set up primarily for cataract surgery, I inquired and found out they do up to 40 per…read moreday! Because of this, the waiting area is large, pleasant, and clean. I'd have preferred a small fridge with some bottled water, but they do have drinking fountains and clean handicapped accessible bathrooms. All the staff from the front desk, to the pre-op nurse, to the anesthesiologist, were professional and friendly, so thumbs up on the care quality. The building's a bit tucked away but there is plenty of parking. All in all an excellent facility.

In Dec 2025, I went to American Surgery Center (ASC) of South Texas twice for cataract surgeries…read more The surgeries were done by a Medical Ophthalmology Associates (MCOA) provider, Dr. Daniel Nolan, OD. Early Jan 2026, I received itemized bills from both places, after comparing the itemized billings from both ASC and MCOA, I found that I had been charged for four lenses, two lenses from ASC (Billing code: 0276 V2788, at a cost of $1,055.00/lens) and two from MCOA (Billing code: 0276 V2788, at a cost of $2,160.00/lens). Jan 30, 2026, I called MCOA for explanation and they told me that the lenses that are in my eyes are theirs, because they knew my eyes prescription. I called ASC and got no response; so, I sent ASC a letter requesting a refund of $2,110.00 or a response within 30 days. 90 days have passed and I have not received any corresponding from ASC via email or snail mail yet. Although the ASC staff are amazing, courteous, knowledgeable and professional, due to the billing issue, I do NOT recommend it to friends and family because I don't want them to get over charge of $2,110.00 like I did. I will contact the BBB and State Board to report the issue.
