The other location was stuffed to the gills with "influencer vibes" as well as clientele and I just want to sit in a nice, clean environment to enjoy delicious food. The Avondale location hit all those marks for me. Our server Jimena was very friendly and polite as well as speedy to make sure we had everything we needed from napkins and water to our food. The space is clean and decorated very humbly while still holding up the feel you might expect of First Watch. I tried the breakfast tacos and I definitely recommend! If you're a little hungry it's not too much food and if you're definitely hungry it's a good amount of food either way they're delicious. I will be returning to the Avondale location next time I'm in town!

There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. It is family owned, and the servers are knowledgeable about the menu and very fun. I tried the Hawaiian Portuguese sausage and eggs, I love the flavor of the sausage, and I really like their house made potatoes. They have really big omelettes and breakfast skillets. And as you can see, we shared the banana pancakes as a family. Definitely a nice place to go with family. Or on your own for a great breakfast or lunch.

The Veggie Burger is pretty good. It doesn't make you miss meat and it fills your belly. But that Natural Cheeseburger? Yum! It was beefy and seasoned well. I would safely say to pass on the chili. It's not that it's bad but another fast food place makes a better chili. You won't be mad about their chili but for $4.75, get something other fast food places do not have.
