I've been to Black Bear MANY times in Vegas and it's always good. THIS Black Bear needs some attention from corporate or the owner. What a train wreck. First and foremost, you gave my husband food poisoning...on the first night of our trip so the entire weekend was basically ruined. We got there at 6:30 on a Saturday night and you're out of the chicken pot pie? AFTER my father was told they don't serve tuna anymore...not that they're out. They don't serve it AT ALL. Dad ended up with a salad. My BLT was a joke. ONE slice of tomato and ONE leaf of lettuce with what looked like 2 pieces of bacon (might have been 3). None of us were happy with our food and while our server was pleasant, the check out person was not. I will never return to this location. read more

Blackbear diner used to be our go to restaurant for great food but it seems that over the years the quality has really gone down. We tried them again today and my wife had the open face turkey sandwich and the turkey was so dry, even with all of the gravy on it, that it really was not edible. I had the meat lovers omelette, which was average at best. The thing that bothers me the most is when we told the waitress how bad the turkey was. she didn't even offer to discount the bill at all, which is not something I ever asked for, but would expect that if somebody's not happy with your food, you might be willing to do something, and nothing was done except, oh I'm sorry here's your bill. We probably will not be visiting blackbear diner again or at least not for a long time, and it's very sad because like I said it used to be our go to. read more

The stake was bland and grisly. The salad had only 4 slices of cucumber and 4 small tomatoes and the amount of dressing that came was 1/3 as much as was needed for the amount of lettuce. Black Bear Diner is usually a solid, consistent joint for good comfort food. But, we recently came to this location and were a bit disappointed. First off, one of the bench seats to our booth was still damp. Had to use one of the paper place mats to dry it off. Also, there seemed to be a fly problem as one was hanging out on the glass window next to our booth. We had to use a napkin to send it to bug heaven. One of its dead brethren was lying lifeless on the sill already. Later, another one was doing some airborne reconnaissance around our table. The food was subpar. The bread to my club sandwich was charred. Wifey's french toast had to be cut with a steak knife. It was more like french cardboard. Part of my daughter's meal was a biscuit. She requested some honey and our waitress brought out a dispenser that had a dribble of honey left at the bottom. The amount that would require you to turn the bottle upside down for five minutes. Whenever my family and I have gone the service is always horrible they never check back if we need anything else like refills or if the food is to our liking some of the waitresses are pretty rude especially the waitress with braids and a face mask she is always doing a million things at a time and forgets our food when it's up there ready and still warm by the time she brings it for us it's already cold. The dish I've always ordered the cinnamon roll French toast they seem to run out and have always made mistakes on my order and so I stopped ordering it and just ordered oatmeal simple and easy right? We came here for a Sunday breakfast @8am & to our surprise they didn't have any wait for a table! We've come here before when we're looking for a home cooked style traditional breakfast @ a good price for what you're getting! When you walk in you have either the counter that you can sit @ to watch the cooks do their thing or you have two dining areas.... it's quite a large restaurant. Both myself & my hubby went with egg white omelets, mine with some thick seedless rye bread, all of which is always so good but this time the cook went a tad heavy on the onions with my omelet! Overall, if you're looking for a traditional, home cooked style breakfast from a restaurant that's been around since the 50's with a great reputation then I'd definitely give Black Bear Diner a try! The place was packed on a Monday at 10am??Well after breakfast and before lunch. The biscuits weren't as light and flavorful as their other restaurant ? Strange ? But anyway very good and huge breakfast and I had bobs burger with fries. If you don't have an appetite of an elephant. I wouldn't suggest you eat Bob's burger. I think that burger was probably really close to a pound of meat, it was huge and very good. The service was excellent and fast that restaurant being 100% packed. read more

The food is sold thought. The bracon was thick and crisp, the ham was thick and the sausage was tasty. The hash browns are really good. Black Bear diner is a pretty cute lookin, family place. Nice bear decor, cute merchandise, and the menus being on newspaper is pretty neat, but don't let looks decieve you. Our server, Truce, seemed like a nice guy. But he had brought out the child's food 15 minutes before the adults food. The kid finished his meal way before we got ours. Some families like to eat, you know, TOGETHER. The silverware was absolutely disgusting as you can see from the image of the butter knife I have posted with this review. The mac and cheese was very cold in the center and slightly warm on the outside, almost like it was just stuck in the microwave with the very bland, dry chicken it came with. 20$ for that was absurd. The fruit on the burrito dish and the bread with the mac and cheese shouldn't have been the most flavorful things on our dishes. Our server, Truce, seemed like a nice guy, but he did make us very uncomfortable with his painted nails, feminine way about the lobby, and his little girls bracelets stacked on his wrist. This man also was a little aggressive when I asked about our food coming, his response "it's comin" seemed very striking and quick. Did not feel welcome. On the way out, I noticed a burger being delivered to a table with the cheese not even melted, just slapped on the meat, and the onion rings looking more like funyuns than anything. Stopped in for breakfast today and the place was busy. We were seated quickly and our server Kayla was wonderful. Very attentive and delivered on all our needs. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Not a fan of having all our napkins and silverware of being delivered as one single pile of things for us to distribute. Ordered bacon "well done" and a burger the same. Neither one was well done. "California Burger" was a sloppy, not-all-that-tasty mess. French fries were not fresh but they made up for it by the portion being small. I got the chicken fried steak with eggs with 2 biscuits and gravy . The chicken fried steak was quite greasy, but tasty however, I think it would have been better, Had it not been pounded quite so thin which meant there was more breading to be greasy. I ended up scraping off half the breading it was so greasy. The biscuits are huge each was the size of a bowl. The gravy was tasty, however not enough gravy was given for the amount of biscuits given. Had there been enough gravy, I would have asked for a box for the second biscuit. I felt like it was a waste for them to throw it out, but I didn't want it without gravy. A big plus is that they carry gold peak tea. My friend's food was hot and tasty and enough to take the rest hone for a snack later. read more

Michael got their fluffy and golden brown huge house made biscuits, and I got me some light skinned sourdough toast everything was delicious. They're a packed placed so expect a wait unless it's during off times which as good as they are is probably never! Staff, is always super friendly knowledgeable about the menu which made our selection especially nice with us not having tried everything there!! My husband and I were celebrating our 34th Anniversary and decided on Black Bear Diner in Goodyear, AZ. After waiting to be seated, we were taken to a booth that had a dirty table (crumbs and sticky table.) I asked the server, Miriam if she could wipe the table. She brought over a wet cloth and handed it to me and said that I needed to clean it because she could not reach because she has short arms. I just wiped the table clean. We ordered, received cold coffee and my order was delivered with sausage iinstead of thick cut bacon. When I tiold Miriam of the mistake, she came back with a plate of what was supposed to be Thick Cut Bacon (was more like a piece and a half of thin beef jerky) and asked me to put the bacon on my plate and to give her the sausage that had been sitting on my plate in front of me! I never heard of this. Miriam stated they were throwing it away. When I asked if my husband can have it she said no. We were never asked if we wanted a refill or top off of coffee until we were leaving the table. Was so disappointed, I just left a tip at the table and paid my bill. Kori rang us and offered to get a manager when I told her how I felt about the meal, but it was busy and we had places to be.
