I did research on the best PT spots in town and kept hearing about SCOR. My 11 year old son had a bad sprain and bone fragment, so we wanted to make sure he rehabbed it properly. After having a full knee replacement, I had 25 visits at Score Physical Therapy. I had excellent care from all of the therapist and support team. I was told my rehab would be 3-6 months. I am just over 3 months and back surfing and playing golf. The staff at SCOR are the best. For the past 2 years my mother has suffered from BPPV, a specific type of Vertigo. Without proper PT the condition just worsens. Not all physical therapists are knowledgeable about this condition and know the proper treatment exercises. From my first call to SCOR, they were very professional and very caring. It's evident that they are patient focused and listen to the specific challenge of each patient. I was able to get my mom in right away and do the insurance paperwork when I arrived. The front office staff could not have been more professional and efficient. While other places are more interested in getting your maximum insurance benefit before you even arrive, Mike spent a comprehensive evaluation and therapy session that helped tremendously in just one treatment. I went to SCOR physical therapy to help strengthen my legs because I was having issues with my knees. The staff at SCOR was quickly able to assess my needs and administer exercises that I could do at their location and at home. I did my exercises at home and I was able to "graduate" from physical therapy and half of the time of what I thought. Everybody who works there is professional, kind, and courteous. I love Heather. Heather took really good care of me and my time at SCOR. She setup a rigorous but effective plan to heal my shoulder after a major accident involving a drunk driver. They had multiple machines and hundreds of techniques to assist in your progressive therapy. I hope I never need SCOR again, but if I do, I will always use their services. read more

I've gone to Ocean for two series of treatments and Scor for one. Ocean is far better in my opinion. The staff is more focused. At Scor, the junior members were engaged and attentive but a couple of the senior therapists seemed distracted and spent a lot of time laughing with each other rather than focusing on patients. The equipment at Scor is overdue for an upgrade. One machine has a ripped seat with the material starting to come out. Scor is showing its age and feels cramped. The limited pieces of equipment are old. I just feel the staff at Scor could be more attentive and the equipment could be updated. It's not a bad place to go, but with a more professional staff and a more comfortable environment, it would be more competitive and possibly deliver better results. read more

I had an excellent experience with the SCOR PT team in route to recovering from my Achilles tendinitis. Heather and the team were superb in helping me relieve my pain and also strengthen my body over the two month period that we worked together. I spent about six weeks with Tyler, Heather and the support staff at SCOR working on a shoulder tear. My family and I are regulars here. Being active and having high school athletes, it's important to have a place like SCOR in San Clemente. From the front desk through the entire process, they are great, caring and committed to the healing process. Having busy schedules has never stopped from being able to get appointments when I needed them. Being a weekend warrior I like knowing I'll be back on a field or court in no time. Having boys who play sports year 'round, it's great to have trusted therapists who know how to balance treatment and speedy recovery. They handle the youths like family but never put the future in jeopardy with incomplete treatments. They help handle physician interaction when needed which is also greatly appreciated. Terrible experience! I went into SCOR for patellar tendonitis. On my visit I was examined by Tyler very briefly and then told to do exercises without any sort of guidance or help. No one took the time to make sure I was using proper body mechanics. I felt neglected and uncomfortable the whole time. After doing the exercises I was told to lay down for icing and the therapist put the ice on the wrong body part. I got a ridiculous bill for 150$. I called billing and was laughed at by June in the billing department when I told her about my experience and how I didn't feel it was right for me to pay 150$ for complete negligence. They didn't care at all and sent me to collections. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Diane 12/2/14 I can only give an opinion on my own experience, and it has been nothing but good. I was there 4 years ago, and I have recently returned for therapy for another procedure. I would not go back to a place that I did not approve of or think it was not doing me any good. The people who assist the therapists are very professional and very knowledgeable. They do not perform the physical therapy, they assist the therapist. It is true, you usually spend about 15-20 minutes with the therapist. Then the assistant comes and helps you with your exercises and make sure you're doing them properly. In the meantime, the therapist goes to another patient, but they're there if you need them. My experience has been all good, and I would recommend them to anyone. Also, the office staff is efficient and extremely helpful. Dan has been helpful to me, personally, so that was also a good experience. The choice is obviously yours to make, but I would highly recommend them. Have a consult with them, then decide, they deserve at least that, please. read more

This is the type of PT office you stay far away from if you want solid care. They have more assistants then actual physical therapists, and the assistants are sub par at best, watching TV, and gossiping amongst themselves and clients a true lack of professionalism. I witnessed mistakes being made due to assistants not listening to instructions. Truly an unorganized mess. Go to a PT office where the the therapists do the treatments, not simply handing you off to an assistant after 10 minutes of work on a patient. I have heard from various former SCOR clients about having the same experience; so I decided to comment knowing I was not alone. I never comment on YELP in the negative but this group sadly deserves it. They truly need to reorganize their treatment protocol as there are many good PT groups around town and fortunately easy to find. read more

Went to this place in the fall 2011 with reversed neck curve and upper back pains. We recently moved to OC from San Francisco and I did not know where to go for physical therapy. This being rather complex problem, I requested to see one of the owners, Daniel Souza, who has a Doctorate in PT. The exercises that were prescribed (as it turned out later) were the exact opposite of what one should be doing with reversed neck curve and general flattening of back curves. Such exercises do strengthen the upper back but also lead to further flattening of the mid back curve and, as a result, further reversal of the neck curve and MORE pain. I was also shoved to an assistant, which I find unacceptable at $90/hour per session. Unfortunately, CA regulations allow the physical therapy to be performed by a person with no education as long a licensed PT is present on the premises. SCOR takes full advantage of this fact. I left the therapy few weeks later with increasing pains which continued until I found a specialist who was able to formulate a full diagnosis and prescribe correct exercises, which could be carried out at home. General lack of competency, lack of compassion, lack of any interest in getting the person better is all I can say about SCOR and Daniel in particular. read more

I am 50 and fortunately have not had to experience PT until this year so I really didn't know what to expect when my doctor prescribed it for me for my knee. The entire team at SCOR made me feel welcome and comfortable. Due to my schedule, I think I have been to most, if not all of the therapists and have had a positive experience with each one of them. They are all well skilled, knowledgeable and friendly to boot! The PT assistants are all great to work with as well, always ready to assist as necessary and answer questions, etc. As much as I don't particularly like PT, I can honestly say I look forward to my sessions. I've had a lot of PT experience, but Scor is DEFINITELY the one place I WOULD GO back. After receiving a cortisone shot in my hip that did not help, I ended up in physical therapy. Scheduling appointments with the front desk was an easy task and were able to work with my schedule. The women at the front desk always greeted me with a smile; the PT assistant/PT always welcomed me with a smile as well. The atmosphere was caring with a sense of personality, and professionalism. Each PT took the time to get to know me and my condition; if I had meet with a different PT, we would see if my condition was improving and what we could do to make my hip stronger. They made sure I was comfortable with my exercises, and if I was not, we would rest and try again or another day. I truly appreciate the work they have done to get me walking normal again. On days that I felt week, they were always able to bring me back up; they all have such a natural positive energy! The massage therapists work wonders as well. They understand where you need work and help calm the muscles that are causing more tension and discomfort. Their intelligence and understanding of the human body has definitively proven their experience and knowledge. I would highly recommend Scor to anyone that is in need of some PT help! read more
