Best place ever to play golf during winter. The employees and the owner are really nice and helpful. You can also book golf lessons, it is how I improve myself. I am still working on it. After stopping in at Score 18 Indoor Golf yesterday, I am compelled to update, amend and retract my prior review. I was blown away by what I saw yesterday at Score 18. I spent most of my time with Steve, a golf pro who works there and also said hello to Larry the owner. As impressive as the facility is with its six big ass golf bays complete with HD screens and a plethora of courses to choose from as well as a driving range mode, Larry and Steve are more impressive. Steve was working with me to help me change my grip on the club and took the time to explain the way he approaches the game of golf. Just hanging out and talking with him made me think about golf and my approach to it much differently. The HD screens and technology they use up at Score 18 are first rate. Combine that with a $3 beer, comfy chairs to lounge in when you're not hitting the ball, expertise about the game and the exciting ability to play pretty much any course including the updated Medinah, and you have the makings of an awesome couple of hours or even an evening. So a big retraction of my prior review and a solid, ringing endorsement of Score 18. If you're a golfer and want to hit some balls in the winter time or just get a lesson from Steve or Larry, give this place a shot. You will be VERY happy you did. I know I am! read more

Great place to hang out and have some fun with friends if you can't get out to a real course or if you want to play some courses you couldn't get in to - i.e. Augusta. New business that is still getting their feet under them. Once they get their liquor license (which is supposed to be soon), I could see this as a regular hangout when outdoor golf isn't an option. BTW - The one bad review is really unfair. I called on a day when they were usually closed because it was raining and Larry, the owner, called back and said he would be happy to come in for just me and one other guy. read more

So, in addition to enjoying good food and whiskey, I find a round of golf to be one of the finer things in life. So, I pursued my other favorite past-time this past weekend, and had the pleasure of golfing during the intermittent blizzards on Saturday, April 2, thanks to Score 18, and overall it was a very good experience. First, as to the simulator itself, the negatives - it is a little unwieldy when you start, as you have to remember every shot to select a club on the simulator computer, and the aiming is a little too confusing and cumbersome. This results in some longer than preferred wait times if you have four playing, at least until everyone gets up to speed. This is a small problem since you pay by the hour, but I imagine it will be less of one on repeat visits. However, the beer and pizza make up for this (the pizza is a delivery from a shop down the row, so good and hot and not a frozen pizza like at bogies, and the beers are a good variety). Also worth noting, despite the complexity of the simulator's logistics, the staff is very helpful and accommodating. The positives - it seems fairly accurate and realistic in its simulation as far as distance and performance, and I really liked the after-shot data, giving you analytics on your swing line, speed, face position at contact, location of impact on the face and ball speed. Also, the HD visuals are bright and clear. The last bonus is for the course selections, which includes Augusta National. As this is the closest I'll ever get to playing Augusta, I enjoyed it all the more. Overall, the facilities are nice, with comfortable couches, the visuals on the simulator are quite good and the simulation itself is on target, and there is a good selection of beers with delivery pizza and even wings. With all of that, it gets 4 stars comfortably, and I will certainly be back. read more

Went to Score 18 for the first time other night. Overall it's a pretty cool place. The bays are bigger than I expected, enough for 4 people to sit comfortably on the leather sofas. Each bay comes with a TV too if you want to watch something different from what's on the main TV. They have a selection of bar food (pizza, sandwiches, appetizers) and wide selection of drinks including various craft beers and wine. The staff was friendly and helpful. They came back every 15 minutes or so to make sure everything was going smoothly, especially since it was our first time. The gameplay itself is pretty decent. Since it was our first time, it took 10-15 minutes to get set up, which didn't count towards our time. After you get set up, the system is pretty intuitive in my opinion. I was most impressed with the balls off the tee and fairway. I have played other simulators before and this was by far the most accurate in terms of distance and ball flight. The same problems I have on the course were quickly picked up by the system (for better or worse). Each shot shows stats such as club/ball speed, club path, club face at impact, etc, which was pretty cool. Shots from the rough and sand are a little harder to get used to, mainly because you're still hitting off a clean lie, but the simulator takes off a certain percentage distance. Since it's not entirely clear which 'rough' you're in, sometimes your 150 yd club will go 140, other times only 100. Kind of a crapshoot. Putting takes a similar amount of time to get used to, but I made a couple 15-20 footers so it's not impossible. Longer putts are tougher to gauge and typically came up short for me. Definitely use the 100" gimme setting to ease frustration. The part that needs the most work is the pitching and chipping. I'm a fairly accurate short game player, but anything 50yds and in was a complete guessing game. On more than one occasion the ball on the screen literally hit a yard in front and spun backwards 5 yards, other times it would fly 10 yards over the green. I would highly recommend the 'unlimited mulligans' setting for this reason alone. At $36/hr per bay (enough for about 18 holes for one person...you'll need 2 hrs for 2 people), it's a little steep to be a place to go on a regular basis. But once or twice a winter while the real courses are covered in snow, I'm game. read more

really cool place....went in on sunday...had the football games on.....cold beers and wine available.....really comfortable couches outside your booth......can't really get much better. the owner also explained to me the time and effort he put into researching the simulators....and the ones he has in are world class. i played medinah (ryder cup setup)......and the screens also show you a diagnostic screen after every shot....very informative for those looking to improve their swing. i think the prices are fair.....and please be sure to handle booking a time here no different than you would a regular course. read more

This place is great. Really cool experience, it was my first time using a simulator and I got the hang of it really quick. I have no basis for comparison, but the Pro Tee system has everything you need. I was surprised how accurate it was. The instant swing data was really helpful for making fine adjustments to my swing. The owner is a super nice guy and helps explain everything very clearly. I played 18 holes at Augusta National while watching the Masters! Some of the other courses look even more amazing and I can't wait to come back and play again. Definitely worth it! read more

I went there on a Saturday with a couple other people for the first time. The atmosphere there was relaxing and fun. It is a great place to work on a golf swing and get the feel for different clubs that may not be used often. The people who worked there were extremely helpful. They took the time to explain how the simulator worked, helped pick a course that matched the group's skill level, and checked up on us to make sure there were no other issues. My group had a wonderful time and plans on going back some time soon. read more
