Nice winery with a beautiful setting. Good wine. They had music the afternoon we were there which was enjoyable.

(I am officially an adult!) They make great chardonnay and pinot and rosé and usually feature a guest winemaker. I'm always pleasantly surprised by things I normally don't prefer eg Riesling or merlot. It's all good! Tastings are casual and unpretentious affairs, dog- and kid-friendly! There's seating inside the house, tables outside for nice weather, and you can bring snacks and picnic. The price of the tasting is waived if you buy wine; their bottles run in the $20-30 range (with a discount for club members). Highly recommend a visit! It's close to Helvetia just up past the Tavern and Grossen peaches and the alpaca farm.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. While some members of our group were doing the wine tasting, the rest of us were not allowed to order wine and had to wait until the tasting was finished. It didn't make sense that we couldn't simply enjoy a glass of wine while waiting. It was quite cold outside, so we asked if we could move indoors. We were told that the indoor tables were reserved, and instead we were offered blankets. Although we appreciated the gesture, it wasn't a comfortable solution given the weather. We had booked the 2:00 p.m. reservation (the online booking only offered 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. time slots), but by 3:00 p.m. our tasting had to be wrapped up. If reservations are limited to one hour, that should be made much clearer during the booking process. To make matters worse, the wine we were most looking forward to tasting was never served. It was only after we asked about it that we were told it had sold out. This is something that should have been communicated before the tasting began, not after we noticed it was missing. We came a long way hoping to share a special winery experience with my parents, but poor communication and the way the experience was managed made the visit far less enjoyable than we had expected. I hope the winery improves its communication and reservation process so future guests have a better experience.

I purchased a Living Social coupon and it was due to expire. So, I while I had planned to use this…read morecoupon during the sunny summer months, alas, here it was late October and the rain had started. This property is off the beaten path, but well signed and you have to know in advance that this location is at the end of Dick Road (so keep going). I had looked it up on the map and noticed that fact so I knew that at the end of the road there would be the vineyard. We pulled up to a house but it had various golf carts and other implements around so it appeared that no one resided there. The sign on the front door said join us outside on the patio just down the stairs. So, we followed down the stairs (I'm not sure what you do if you cannot do stairs--it looks like you maybe able to pull around on another side but I'm not clear on that) I would probably call first if I had any kind of mobility issues. We walked a little ways and saw a lighted room and so we went inside. Turns out this is the bathroom and not where they were wine tasting. We kept walking through the patio and there was no one in site. Finally, we spotted a large tent that was put up and the tasting area was set up there. We walked in and were casually greeted by a young girl who proceeded to tell us what they were out of and wanted to know if we wanted to taste a wine. I said that we had a coupon for the lunch basket and she wanted the info off of that and she would go and make it up. She then took off to go do that leaving us huddled on some damp chairs under the tent with another couple. It was about 48 degrees under the tent and they had heaters for the outdoors but they weren't lit. The YS and I were beginning to think we should get the food to go and forget the wine. Then the owner Melinda came out and asked if we wanted to taste a wine and proceeded to tell us a bit about them and we decided to split a tasting. She told us about how their vineyard as well as their farm acreage (they have about 70 acres). While we were talking the girl brought out the food and set it down not saying anything to anyone. I later asked Melinda if that was for us and she said yes. Melinda also quickly lit the heaters when she got out there she said that her helper (the girl from earlier) didn't know how to do it. I think the girl needs some training as she's doing a great business a real disservice. We ended up eating our lunch which was very tasty and bought a bottle of wine to enjoy with our lunch as well as two bottles to take home. I will say that our first impression was not a great one based on the girl and her demeanor we were going to eat and leave. Melinda is very friendly and customer service oriented. I will definitely be back again. If we didn't have two wine club memberships already we would have joined theirs as they have fun events with the wine pick ups as well as other events open to the general public. Beautiful setting, I would highly recommend.
