The Helvetia Vineyards home was apparently a Sear Roebuck Kit home, but I can't seem to find others like it online. Cool house though.

Tucked away on a dirt road, Helvetia Winery is a quaint, charming little spot to enjoy wine tastings or even just buy a bottle. The inside of the space is like a cozy home, the people working were nice but seemed to have somewhat of an off vibe. They said they were extremely busy for wine tastings but there were only 3 groups of people outside from what we could see. A bottle of red was $35 to drink on the patio. It was decent wine but nothing I would come back for. Didn't get a headache from the wine later so that's a huge bonus! They have live music and fresh salmon people were buying, lots of fun to be had here! I would maybe give it another chance if I didn't feel so unwelcome my first time here. Loved seeing pet owners bring their dogs and have them lounge in the shaded tree areas. A cool spot but a few tweaks would make it awesome.

Amazing winery. Everyone here is so nice and knowledgeable. Your can do a tasting ($15 or waived with wine bottle purchase), wine tour, or just enjoy a glass/bottle. You can choose to sit inside or outside. The patio has a beautiful view of the vineyard. They also have really cute dogs that love to chill and say hello. Great experience every time. They also have a bunch of fun events like music Wednesday's and wine and paint nights. Check out their calendar on their website to see what they have coming up.

    Tasting menu for Helvetia Winery

My husband and I love visiting local wineries and Helvetia Winery is only 11 miles from our house. We made a reservation and if it hadn't been for the reservation, we might've missed out on a really lovely tasting. The signage on the roads leading up to the winery is clearly displayed but on the building or the driveway, itself? Nothing I could spot. We turned around, drove a bit father up the road, turned back around, and took the (somewhat scary) chance that we were pulling into someone's driveway. Luckily we did! I cannot remember the gentleman's name who did the tasting, but he was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. We had a great conversation while we tried several wines. I don't normally care much for white wines but we liked Helvetia's so much, we bought 2 bottles (a Pinot Gris and a Chardonnay) and a bottle of Pinot noir.

Wow! What a homey loving vibe! My mom and I had the best time sipping on a delicious bottle of wine under a shady tree. My son had an amazing time playing with one of the pups. We got so teary eyed because we felt so welcomed there. It definitely felt like family.

Stumbled upon this place during our weekend trip to Portland and 10/10 recommended. The service was outstanding, the host was super friendly and welcoming. The space itself is so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Would def visit again.

My husband and I enjoyed our experience at Helvetia. The nice indoor and outdoor seating was quaint and beautiful scenery. We loved our experience as we did a wine tasting of 5 wines. We both tried a glass of the ones we liked most and took a bottle of each home. The workers were very kind and ready to give background about the wines and the vineyard itself. I would recommend Helvetia and hope to return.

I absolutely adore John and his story behind the wines, winery, vineyards and estate. The grounds are open and inviting with picnic tables, gathering areas, and an event tent just begging to have events under and around it again! The smoked salmon pairing with the Pinot Noir 2017 was amaze!! Ron R. & I purchased both the 2017 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay! I am excited to see how their 2020 Sangiovese and Pinot Noir bottle and taste in the future because the flavors in the barrel were super yum! We will definitely be returning to this estate, winery, John and of course Pippen soon!

Helvetia is a small winery up a dirt road in the rather gorgeous Tualatin Valley. Until last night, I was not much of a wine consumer (I'll have my gin, thank you very much). But then I sampled Helvetia's '06 Pinot Noir. I don't know the parlance of wine tasting talk, so I can't adequately describe this Pinot Noir, but I thought it was wonderful and bought a bottle. The owners are John Platt and former congresswoman Elizabeth Furse. They have pictures on the wall of them posing with the beloved former First Couple, Bill and Hillary Clinton. John was there on Saturday evening and he is a warm and welcoming fellow. BTW, how I found out about Helvetia was because there was a party here for a friend graduating from Lewis and Clark College. Dig the freshly-shorn alpacas on the farm just down the road from Helvetia!

This is one vineyard that's a short drive, and not very difficult to get to for being located in Cornelius. No long and windy roads is what I'm implying. An easy vineyard you can show out-of-town guest what Oregon wines are all about. I feel this would be a quick treat for them. Even after work, just to relax with a glass and charcuterie board, we've been here! ~ The Views (or a view) ~ If you've seen the yelp pics on the views, then that's exactly all you'll get. You can chill inside for a tasting or out on the patio while enjoying an excellent view of the vineyard. On a clear sunny day, you can see Mt Hood in the background. Down below the patio, at vineyard-level, there are a few wooden beach chairs and picnic tables as well. It's relaxing wherever you choose really, to say the least. ~ Reds, Whites, and You ~ If you're looking for a white chard that's not too sweet, then this is your place! Their wines are simple enough to enjoy. I don't recall having a bad pour. But like practically every vineyard in Oregon, they too serve pinot noirs. I personally have more of an earthy pallet, so I do not have a taste for pinot gris or rieslings, but theirs I did admire. You'll have to try them for yourself. Again, I believe all their variations can satisfy anyone's pallet. ~ Owners, Staff, and Service ~ At one of the member events, we did get the opportunity to meet the owners, and their pup. All of them really down-to-earth people in my opinion. But I would like to give credit to Mach and Melissa as well. These two hustle! Not for you to just purchase their wines and join the club, but they're attentive on what you'd be interested in. Thank your Mach and Melissa for your generous and friendly hospitality. We've had questions, they've had answers. This little winery just gives you everything you'd expect from a winery. Case and point!

This property is off the beaten path, but well signed and you have to know in advance that this location is at the end of Dick Road (so keep going). I had looked it up on the map and noticed that fact so I knew that at the end of the road there would be the vineyard. We pulled up to a house but it had various golf carts and other implements around so it appeared that no one resided there. The sign on the front door said join us outside on the patio just down the stairs. So, we followed down the stairs (I'm not sure what you do if you cannot do stairs--it looks like you maybe able to pull around on another side but I'm not clear on that) I would probably call first if I had any kind of mobility issues. We walked a little ways and saw a lighted room and so we went inside. Turns out this is the bathroom and not where they were wine tasting. We kept walking through the patio and there was no one in site. Finally, we spotted a large tent that was put up and the tasting area was set up there. We walked in and were casually greeted by a young girl who proceeded to tell us what they were out of and wanted to know if we wanted to taste a wine. I said that we had a coupon for the lunch basket and she wanted the info off of that and she would go and make it up. She then took off to go do that leaving us huddled on some damp chairs under the tent with another couple. It was about 48 degrees under the tent and they had heaters for the outdoors but they weren't lit. The YS and I were beginning to think we should get the food to go and forget the wine. Then the owner Melinda came out and asked if we wanted to taste a wine and proceeded to tell us a bit about them and we decided to split a tasting. She told us about how their vineyard as well as their farm acreage (they have about 70 acres). While we were talking the girl brought out the food and set it down not saying anything to anyone. I later asked Melinda if that was for us and she said yes. Melinda also quickly lit the heaters when she got out there she said that her helper (the girl from earlier) didn't know how to do it. I think the girl needs some training as she's doing a great business a real disservice. We ended up eating our lunch which was very tasty and bought a bottle of wine to enjoy with our lunch as well as two bottles to take home. I will say that our first impression was not a great one based on the girl and her demeanor we were going to eat and leave. Melinda is very friendly and customer service oriented. I will definitely be back again. If we didn't have two wine club memberships already we would have joined theirs as they have fun events with the wine pick ups as well as other events open to the general public. Beautiful setting, I would highly recommend.
