An expert to me is someone who can be given a vague list of ideas and turn those ideas into a masterpiece. These guys are experts and the yard has never looked better. My mom, in this case, was looking for an overhaul of her front yard in LF and she contacted a few companies. This was a redo that another local company did two years ago and my mom was not happy. A tree even died and they didn't care. Scott Byron, on the other hand, knew what they were doing and there was zero hassle. I'm in town for a visit and we're outside enjoying it right now. In a nutshell - great presentation and vision followed by mediocre project management and horrible post-project support and customer service. The high-end customer service is not there - and they have a heck of a time returning phone calls and accepting responsibility for choices they've made. All of them professing to have award winning design services, using top quality plant material and excellent, pro active maintenance, after the install. I have always been left wanting and disappointed, until choosing to go with Scott Byron! I have now worked with all aspects of the company, account reps, design people, accounting and installation. No experience with their actual landscaping or anything, but they don't keep their trucks well managed. I was driving behind one of their trucks carrying a bunch of tiny little pebbles and they were falling out the back. A ton of them ended up hitting my windshield and chipped it in four different places before I could switch lanes. I'd be cautious of this company- they're clearly not well-regulated. read more

I have tried to use Scott Byron twice. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..... If you desire a landscaping company that actually LANDSCAPES, then keep looking. And if its a mere call back you're looking for, or even someone to show up at the scheduled time they say they will, definitely keep looking. Byron Scott appears to be a good professional company but don't be fooled. If u are a residential customer do not waste your time with this company. There prices are outrageous!! Quote 10,000-13,000 to landscape my front yard with plant material only with no design plan! My neighbor received a quote from another company to landscape front and side of yard plus remove old concrete sidewalk and install a brick sidewalk all for $19,000!! We opted to buy the design plans only as recommended by the design architect. Much to my surprise His customer service was awful! He never gave us a business card and committed to sending a design letter agreement which he never did. I called several times trying to get a return call. After 4 weeks I was told ...we r too busy for your design plans now. I wasted 4 weeks waiting on this company. And now have to start from scratch when every landscape company is very busy now. Please take heed to these comments. This is NOT a good company for the average residential home. My home is 3500 sq ft in a nice northern suburb and we got the shaft. read more

Scott Byron was hired by a neighbor to do a large tree project that involved about 10 days of work across my driveway to facilitate the neighbor's large landscaping project. Byron's team, lead by Tony W. and Ramiro, did an excellent job working with us through the disruptions, keeping us informed of the changing schedule, cleaning up after themselves, repairing damages, and demonstrating appreciation for our inconvenience. While I did not hire them, I was certainly the recipient of their service. And on that accord, I recommend them highly. read more

Ok, ridiculous proposal, but to be fair I did tell him to show me everything they could do. I ended up subbing my own hardscapes, saved half. Did my own lighting, drainage and Pergolas saved more. Spent the money on grass, shrubs, design, and oover all make my lot transform from the construction site it was to the showpiece ( If I do say so :) it is today. I recently hired Scott Byron & Co. to make some changes in an existing landscape plan and plant my seasonal planters (9 in total) for Spring and Summer. The experience was very positive and their work product is excellent. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again as needed. My jobs were not considered too small (even though they were minor). They were attentive to my requests, and revised the project scope and budget as requested. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that once the season hit and they got busy it was hard getting return emails promptly. They acted on my emails, but I didn't always know when they were moving forward or showing up to do the work when it wasn't confirmed in advance. read more
