I started a policy with State Farm to get coverage to rent a car. My payment was taken immediately. When I cancelled my policy after 10 days, I did not receive a notification of my refund. I explained I am no longer in the United States and that a refund to my credit card would be the easiest way to refund my money. I was told they can't do that. Now I am having a check sent to a place where I am not going to be. How can a payment be taken by credit card but a refund can not be sent my credit card? The client has to do all the work with this office and then are rejected by not having alternative ways to refund payments. read more

I've been a State Farm customer for over 40 years in 8 states and dealt with over a dozen agencies. Never have I been treated as rudely as I was today in their office. The reason I even went there in the first place was lack of response to e-mails and failure to call back when they promised. First, this may be "Scott Cameron's" but he never deals directly with his customers. On my way out I tried to enter his luxurious office and the receptionist had a fit (he wasn't even in there)! The young woman who I dealt with was rude and refused to provide me with any answers. The answer I received was obviously biased by what he was told by the same staff who treated me like I was a child. Perhaps if the owner ever bothered to communicate with his customers directly he would get a more balanced view. As for so-called honest responses, "That's how it is jn Florida" does NOT explain why his staff provided me with an initial quote which was increased twice in the next few weeks by hundreds of dollars due to my car no longer being safe by State Farm standards - the same car State Farm has insured for 10 years and has every safety option on it that my two year old Infiniti has which cost almost a thousand less per year!! read more

Got a letter from FL State DMV, dated Jan. 8, that my license was going to be suspended because my insurance was denied because underwriting took so long on my 1996 Ford Conversion van that was insured by State Farm in MN for four and a half years. I paid the premium Dec. 27 but never saw a policy. Had called main State Farm number and CS agent said "Problems, not done right, questions regarding vehicle and I am transferring you to the Agency. I asked agency why I had never been informed there where questions on tbe vehicle. Had to try to get another agent in Gainesville, to get them to add back in my multiline discount on home insurance, after renewal.letter said premium was going up 60+%. Discount was $724 but only got credit for $693. Van Insurance was going from $365 to $497 and since I had to buy another vehicle and insured it with another company when I didn't see any insurance policy online for so.long. I sold the van and cancelled the home ins. Canceling home has to go through underwriting and of course they drug their feet and took another payment 19 days after cancellation date and I had to get my bank to get my money back and block them. Finally got cancellation notice. No refund. Filed Complaint with BBB and finally got refund. The worse part is when they rewrite history and say they have been on top of everything. After I emailed them and said everything in writing they called three times and left voicemail how they have been trying to get.hold of me to make sure I did get the refund THEY got for me. Total BS!!! Nothing wrong with Scott Cameron and his agency, but in this day and age you have to change auto insurance companies every six months to get a decent quote. The premium for my Avalon went up 31% after the first six months (no claims or accidents). Had Allstate before State Farm and same thing happened after 6 months. Costs me a couple of hours time every 6 months, but I save about $500 a year for identical coverage with well known company and I can work for $100+ per hour of my time to save. They will tell you rates have gone up because of a hurricane, mudslide, inflation, etc., but a new company will give you a good rate because they know people are lazy and will go years accepting unjustified rates. I recently moved one of my insurance policies over to State Farm and worked with Dessiree Acosta, who is a very pleasant and knowledgeable representative of that agency. Ms. Acosta knew all the right questions to ask to produce the right policy at what I feel is the right price. She has also been very helpful in helping me in obtaining the information needed for the new policy, and with interfacing with my previous policy holder. I would not recommend this agent. State Farm is a very professional company but his office staff is discourteous and fails to follow up on issues. Mr. Cameron is rarely in the office. In 30 years of being his client, I have never met the man. We recently encountered difficulty obtaining a renewal for our Homeowners Insurance and made every repair requested, provided the documentation and pictures requested and were told we would have an answer within 3 weeks. After waiting for 3 weeks, we still had no answer so we called his office. They are too busy to answer their phones so you must leave a message and play telephone tag waiting for them to return the call. When I did reach them, the customer service representative, Stephanie, then told me we would have an answer on the 4th. I reminded her that July 4th is a holiday and I don't believe anyone will be working. She then said well maybe the 5th or the 6th. She does not inspire confidence in the slightest. When I asked her to please check with the Underwriters for their decision, she told me she could not do so. I said then please have the agent, Scott Cameron,call and ask because it had been 3 weeks and we need an answer so that if we are turned down, we must start seeking another Insurance company. Obviously the agent is allowed to speak to the Underwriting staff and I wasn't demanding they renew us, just that they provide a decision. She refused to allow me to speak to Scott and wanted me to speak to her Supervisor. Stephanie is in the habit of speaking over you when you attempt to reason with her and I find that rude. She takes the approach that bullying is in order when you disagree with her or ask for more assistance. Every time I have left a message with a callback number which is our landline since it has a speaker phone and is more secure than a cellphone, Stephanie calls the cellphone number instead. Finally, I removed the cellphone number from the account because Stephanie is incapable of doing what is requested. I emailed Mr. Cameron to ask for his assistance in the matter and stated if he did not have time to phone me, just email me the answer yes or no. He has done neither. Since he ignored my reasonable, polite request I contacted State Farm's Corporate Office to ask for their assistance and they are working on the problem. I appreciate their professionalism and courtesy and realize that State Farm is still a reputable company but Mr. Cameron is uninterested in his clients. He is either too uninvolved or too busy to speak to a client of 30 years who has never filed a claim and wasn't demanding a renewal of the policy, just an answer yes or no. I would not recommend this Agent. He is not a good neighbor and he won't be there if you have a problem. read more

I do not recommend this company. My previous insurance was expiring at the end of the month and I gave them all documents 2 weeks prior. Day before it expired, I called and left a message for my agent, which he never got, that I hadn't heard from them or gotten a policy and was unsure if I had given them my mortgage lender info. Had to call the next day, by then we had only a few hours to get things done and found out that some items were missing that were required. Even though I had given them what I thought was needed 2 weeks prior. Without this wind mitigation report my premium would have been $500 more. So they ended up sending the binder to my mortgage company, with a $500 higher premium, with the promise that we would try to get what we needed and get the new quote sent to them ASAP. Even though I was Furious, I continue to try to work with them to get them what was needed, but could not find required pictures to go with report. I was dealing with staff person Lily oh, she was completely unprofessional and all I got was excuses. When I told her that my agent, Will Cothren, blamed her for the mishap, she immediately copped an attitude. She was mad at him for blaming her, and took it out on me. At one point I told her that I have been in chronic pain for over 20 years and that this stress was completely causing me more pain. She started laughing. When I asked her if she thought this was funny she said no, and I said why are you laughing? She didn't explain because I had said I wanted to just go to bed and she felt the same way. Which to me just said "I don't care about your pain all I want is to get done with dealing with you." How unprofessional!! Every time I ask to speak to my agent, she refused to put me through to him. When I would call back she would be the one that would answer the phone and only made matters worse. I finally made the choice to just drop them and go with a completely different company. It was easier to start over than to continue to deal with them. It appears they've had a lot of problems the last few months. And I let my agent know that it was because of Lily, that they were losing not only my car insurance, which I had switched to them 6 months prior, but my homeowners insurance and my trust, as well. He tried 2 Meet the price of the other company, which was Farmers, but I told him no because if I ever had to deal with a claim I would never want to deal with their company after this Fiasco. And I knew that it would just go up the first time it renewed. Just like my car insurance did. It went up a lot after the first 6 months. read more

We've been State Farm members for over a decade with no issues. In fact, if you had asked me to write a review 6 months ago, it would have been 5 stars. In the last few months, that changed. We've experienced unexplainable price increases. We've experienced jaw-dropping mistakes. We've experienced over-promising and under-delivering. Here are a few of the situations we've gone through (JUST IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS): 1. We opted to do their flood insurance and roll it into a bundle deal with everything else. It was a bit more expensive than what we were paying elsewhere, but covered more and we're in a flood plane. They told us they would take care of everything -- from cancelling the other service and getting the new one started. Well, the older one was cancelled, but the new policy was never started. We didn't find out until the bank contacted us with a threatening letter about requirement flood insurance. Only when we called Scott Cameron's office to see what happened did we find out they dropped the ball. We promptly cancelled that policy with State Farm and returned to the older carrier. 2. We've made a couple of vehicle changes as of late (new motorcycle, sold two cars, bought a truck). How is it that the car insurance for the truck and the remaining car go up almost EXACTLY the same as the car insurance for the car that was sold? We understand that prices go up, but how suspicious they only went up when the other car was sold and taken off our policy. Scott Cameron's team needs to make their dollar one way or another. 3. No one at State Farm seems to know how Scott Cameron's office is charging their customers. This most recent bill we received was over $100 more expensive than the last one. Keep in mind, this was AFTER we dropped one of the vehicles. When we found this taken out of our bank account, it was already 10pm at night. We get it, Scott Cameron's office is closed. We called the Customer Service line for State Farm and were connected with a general service rep. He looked at the bill AND HE ALSO COULDN'T EXPLAIN WHY OUR BILL WAS INCREASED. No itemized list, no figures that can give rates. Is billing a secret? 4. Speaking of flood insurance, we were told they mailed us a check (totaling over $1000) months ago. Where is it? No updates, no tracking, no request to stop by the office to pick it up? Scott, you can check your account to verify it wasn't cashed. At this stage, there are only a few possibilities for what's been going on. How can we have a great experience for over a decade and then suddenly things go so far south so quickly? I believe our long-existing account was either passed to an inexperienced/unqualified/shiesty representative who is trying to take advantage of our bank account, or Scott Cameron's office has always done this to customers and we're only now seeing it with the changes to the account. Both are equally terrifying and infuriating. But here's why I'm leaving this review in the first place. With all of this, we could have resolved issues with an itemized list, or a call notifiying us of changes. You don't increase a bill by THAT MUCH and not leave a paper trail explaining why. We called the corporate office and they had no clue to the reason why our bill went up. That's bad business. That's shady and disgusting. We'll be calling later today to have them resolve these outstanding issues. But at this stage, we're done. I honestly don't know what could be done to save our account and stop us from leaving, but we'll be shopping elsewhere and telling the tale of Scott Cameron's fall from grace for years to come to everyone we know. I recently was researching insurance companies and submitted my information to be contacted. I soon received a call from State Farm -Scott Cameron's office. Usually, when receiving sales calls I can tell that the person on the line is really just trying to close the deal. When Sean Warwick called I could tell he really wanted to address my insurance needs. He explained everything in the amount of detail that fit my needs and experience level. He had some great stories that fit the areas of insurance that interested me. I never tired of talking with him. He was interesting, intelligent and fully capable of answering my questions. He had a great attitude and really expressed his confidence in State Farm, and the coverage he was offering to me. He had me sold before finishing what he was explaining about a particular coverage. That is really hard to do. If he had told me I needed some obscure coverage I would probably have said add that too. You know, building that type of trust in such a short period is so vital and so unusual. That is the type of trust he was able to gain on his first phone call. I have dealt with many salesman in my time and I would have to say that he is the best. Sean handled this transaction as if he had been doing it for many years. What an asset. At no time did I feel like he was talking down to me or that he felt superior. I never felt that he did not know what he was talking about. I also believe that I got a fair quote on really great coverage. I did not leave this conversion feeling buyers remorse. It was a feeling of having all of my insurance needs fulfilled by a true professional. Someone that really trusted and respected the company he was representing. I had no hesitation in telling him to sign me up. There must be really great people mentoring Sean because it shows. I asked him to send me some business cards because I will be recommending Sean and State Farm to my friends. WOW, I sincerely wish Sean luck in the future. read more

When Scott was called out about making these accusations, he became angry and defensive. I would not recommend this office to anyone.
