Made the mistake to pay in full before job completion and it seems that was enough for Mark to go silent when multiple attempts were made to contact him to coordinate appointments with city permit workers. This is the scummiest company I have ever dealt with. This company charged me thousands of dollars and after 5 months had just installed 12 light cans. They made me lose so much money on my project due to their unprofessionalism and lazy workmanship. Mark the owner has no clue on what his 2 employees are doing. Never checks the job site or even lays hand on his projects. Calls every Friday asking for money and even made me pay for rough materials that was supposed to be included. I will be complaining to the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). When the phone was answered with a very gruff "yeah" I should have taken the hint but I had a lot of outlets that weren't working and was desperate. Turned out that the person answering the phone was the owner. I forgot to ask what the trip charge was but found out 15 minutes after he arrived when he flipped a breaker and retested the outlets. Of course they were all fine at that point! Trip charge was $100. I asked him for some minor fixes to justify in my mind his charge but no go. Definitely won't call him again. read more

It's a rainy afternoon and suddenly about 1/3 of the power goes off at my boss' house. He has no heat, no hot water, random outlets aren't working, it's 3pm and he calls me and says "fix it". So I came to Yelp and found Scott Electric and called the number. Mark answered and by 4:15 - on a rainy afternoon on the hill no less! - was at my boss' house diagnosing the problem. It needed a specialized part to fix, but he had it located by the following morning - had to drive to San Dimas to get it! - and installed by 1pm that day. Fixed within 24 hours at a totally reasonable price, considering what he had to do. VERY responsive, knows what he's doing, humanely priced. I found Mark and his team via Amazon Home Services as I needed recessed lighting installed in the living room and kitchen. Mark was very easy to work with providing a free, in-home estimate and scheduled his crew for the next day. Within 5 hours, 10 LED recessed lights were installed (6 in kitchen, 4 in living room) along with fixing a couple chandelier connections and installing dimmers. Early morning 2 guys showed up, then a 3rd, then Mark himself to ensure all was going smoothly. It was a great experience and terrific end result with lots of customization along the way, ex. I had an outlet suddenly stop working. After trying to find a loose wire myself and spending an hour calling around, no one was available for days. Mark answered and said he would come over after his last job. He arrived around 6 pm and was finished within 45 minutes. He charged just $100.00 service call much less than others quoted. Got a few more estimates, but went with Scott Electric because of their fast response and fair quote. Mark said he would be able to take care of the job the next day. As promised, Mark and his crew (Anthony and Pedro) arrived on time (in fact, they were a little early) and got right to work. We needed to get a couple dedicated circuits installed to run some equipment, and have a ceiling fan installed (due to the house being old, it was a little trickier than a normal ceiling fan install). The power in kitchen and some other places was going on and off for about 6 hours or so. Was worried about appliances. Called Mark (I guess). He asked me to text the address. But little late in giving a commitment. Called him again. He said, he is stuck, but will make it to my home before calling off for the day. He arrived at 6:30 PM or so. He was good at what he was doing. After looking through plug points in kitchen, garage, washer and the panel, he quickly identified the problem and told me, it is the Edison that needs to help you. He asked me to call the Edison and was there to inform them that one of the 2 hots coming in is not carrying electricity. He told me, I was lucky because it happened when he was there.
