I had a pretty good experience here. Everyone is very welcoming. and my tattoos came out amazing. but if you are a younger girl, I probably wouldn't recommend going to Damon, the only thing he really talked about was all of his sexual experiences, and trying to explain how good he is in bed without me even saying a word or bringing up anything in that nature, I would try and change the subject, and it would immediately go back to him only using the words "fuck" and "sex" in every sentence it was honestly draining, and if Damon is reading this, part of the reason i didn't take breaks during my tattoos was to be polite, get my pretty tattoo and get the hell out of there. The last time I was there at the end of the session, he said that he would definitely have sex with me and I just had to uncomfortably laugh it off like everything else he would say like complementing me profusely, so if you're a younger girl and don't want a 40 something year old man trying to convince you and himself that being with a 19-year-old is great or something i wouldn't really recommend :) but as I said the tattoos came out amazing, and the conversation was good sometimes, but time to find a new tattoo artist! read more

I had a really great experience getting tattooed here. It's very professional and comfortable. All of my previous tattoos were done when I lived in New England, so I had to search for an artist in jersey. The first two shops I contacted were not good at replying to emails, which is always a turn off. I also felt a lack of interest in doing a smaller piece, which is silly because I may very well go back for more work in the future. Then I remembered this shop very close in Closter, and looked at their website. I was immediately impressed because Scott had written about doing a smaller piece and how those can be some of the most memorable. I also liked the photos of the shop, it looked different then other shops, more upscale, just nicer. I was a little worried at the lack of reviews on here, but took a leap of faith anyway. Everything went great, Scott is really cool and laid back. I liked that there wasn't loud metal music playing and the shop was very clean. The price was fair and I love how my tattoo looks! I came here quite some time ago for my navel piercing. Scott, the owner, did the piercing and I'm very happy with it. Since the only other piercings I have are on my ears, I was very nervous about this navel piercing. Scott was kind, patient, helpful, and kept me calm throughout the entire process. I got my first-ever tattoo from Scott in May of 2015 after he was strongly recommended by a friend of mine (who has LOTS of ink!) I found Scott to be super professional and friendly and put me right at ease. The shop is clean and open and ... I don't know how to say this... Family friendly? It wasn't a creepy, hole-in-the-wall biker looking place or anything that ANYONE would not feel comfortable going into. And my tattoo is AWESOME! I get so many compliments on it, the colors, the detail... It's really beautiful and I'm so proud of it (even though, all I did was sit there... Scott did all the work! So I guess HE should be proud.) I have at least two more planned. Gotta think about what I want. What I DON'T have to think about is who will be doing them!! Nice work, but very poor customer service. Last Friday the 13th, I decided to give them a call just out of curiosity if they were doing something special, like discounted flash. I NEVER asked if they were doing $13 tattoos. I know they are an ~upscale~ tattoo shop, but I have been to 2 other ~upscale~ tattoo shops that did fun Friday the 13th flash for $30-$200 per design. When I asked about this, the woman on the phone gave me a rude attitude and said, "uh, no. We don't do that here." She spoke to me like I was a moron. I have 13 tattoos all done by extremely talented artists. I'm not an idiot when it comes to tattoos. I really wanted to get some work done here but after that horrible experience over the phone, I would never give this place my business. Avoid this shop like the plague. read more

My daughter wanted her nose pierced and we came here because of all the positive feedback from other clients. My oldest daughter had her nose pierced elsewhere and it was not a good experience. Weird energy there. I've walked in about five times in two months, never welcomed. Looked around 20 min looking at some stuff. No one spoke to me or even looked interested I was there. Multiple times. Sucks because they are near where I live. Asked for a look book once. Felt like I interrupted their lives. Anyway, they don't do that. Look at our Instagram. Okay but a little awkward. What I saw looked fine and they seemed to be getting along with the persons they were tattooing but. . . Made me uncomfortable. And I know this may read a over dramatic, but I'm being 100: I felt an odd underlying mild racism. Not overt but I was the only POC guy like me there every time and they didn't seem to have trouble talking to anyone else that stopped in though perhaps they were more familiar with them. I have some ink all over but I look kinda straight to some people so maybe I was pegged a browser or just a square off the street? Or they have a group of people they were cool with. Idk. Wanted to look forward to it 'cause it my local shop, but didn't feel the spirit. Totally could have been a weird read I guess or they are too cool for school? Anyway wouldn't tell anyone not to go there or give them a chance but if it feels weird when you come in, it's not you it's them. Trust me I hope I'm off base, would rather be wrong. read more

I first came here when I was looking for an artist who I can work with to cover up a pretty decent sized back tattoo. One of those tats I got when I was really young, yes, you know how that story goes... I've spoken to many different artists and honestly... NONE of them listened to what I wanted. They all had these ideas that they wanted to do to cover up my back piece instead of wanting to know what I wanted to do. Scott greeted me at the door right away and talked to me about my back piece. He listened to what I had to say and what I wanted to do and explained to me what could be done and what could not be done. My husband who was with me wanted a certain type of tattoo, a trendy west coast type, and Scott was very honest with him on the reasons why he doesn't recommend it and that not many artists can actually mimic the way that artist had done that tattoo. I was blown away by his honesty. This showed me that he wasn't just about money. He's a true artist who loves to do what he does. I was going to book with another place and let that other artist put what he wanted on my back but I met with one of Scott's tattoo artist, Damon, who listened to my idea and made it come to life. Everyone at the shop is very friendly and laid back. I haven't had the pleasure of getting to really know the other 2 artist but they always pop out to say hello and see how you're doing. The art work in Scott's shop is amazing! All 4 are very talented artists and they run a very clean, tight shop. They all really care about you and the art work they will put on our bodies. If something will not work they will let you know and that's because they want the best for us. My husband and I have had 4 pretty decent sized pieces done by Damon. I called this place to schedule a tattoo for my sisters, mom and myself. My sister is under 18 but she was going with our mom so I figured it would be fine. The guy on the phone said they don't tattoo minors for many different reasons. That was absolutely fine with me so I said thank you and thought I was going to hang up. But instead the guy decided to lecture me about how my little sister shouldn't be getting a tattoo because when he was 19 he had no idea what he wanted and did it anyway, and that my sister may think she knows what she wants but she really has no idea. It made me soo angry that I actually hung up in the middle of his lecture because my sister wasn't getting a meaningless tattoo. All 4 of us, including my mom, were getting tattoos in honor of her just beating breast cancer. I understand that they want to warn you about minors bodies growing, etc, but to tell me my sister doesn't know what she wants and will probably hate it in a few years when you don't even know her or what she wants is just rude and unnecessary. Not to mention it's her body and she's paying to have it done so she should be able to do what she wants. Anyways, we ended up at Screaming Ink in Fair Lawn and all had it done and they came out amazing!! :) read more
