Where to begin on this rant.... Hmmmm, well don't go here, the owner Scott and his employee Damon both have issues. I had gotten a couple tattoos done by Damon and won't lie was happy with his work EXCEPT that he failed to show me bird stencil on my back before tatting it. My main gripe though comes from a foot tat that I have, I showed it to him it's a coverup of my ex's name. It consists of swirls and flowers I asked Damon if he could just add add'l swirls & flowers and thicken some lines he said no problem. We set the date about a month out. Cut to date: I go get a $30 pedi psyched up to get this done I arrive at appt time 6:15 he's standing in waiting area of shop goes "Hey lemme see your foot again." (Now mind you I had asked him if he wanted pic of foot when inquiring about tat he said Nah I know what you want, no problem). OK so I show foot he's now shaking his head No no no. Tells me "Can't do it you need a coverup like flowers." I was like "What?" He goes over to appt book says "Ok next month, and I'll draw up something send to your phone b4." To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Ok so I wait out the month, the night b4 tat I still have nothing. I texted Damon "Sorry to bother you my tat scheduled for tomorrow did you draw anything yet?" He sends back douchey response "No. I told you I'm very busy there are clients b4 you I told you you'll get it b4 your appt." About 45 min later he sends 2 big flowers with little leaves. I did not like it I have tiny size 5 foot, texted back "I do not care for it." He goes "I'm gonna call you." Well, he calls and begins YELLING at me idk if he was high, drunk, or just outright has mental issues! Yelling LOOK I CAN'T FIX YOUR TATOO YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT A COVERUP YOU ARE SO WISHY WASHY YOU ARE THE MOST INDECISIVE CLIENT I'VE EVER MET!!! And he's ranting repeating himself I was like "How am I indecisive I wanted you to fix and add to existing tat, you said you could do that!" He goes "Forget what I said!!!" Like, what? So next day I called to speak to Scott unfortunately Dsmon answered phone I said "I'd like Scott to call me when he can." Damon flips out on me again screaming NO NO NO!!!! I said I need to speak to him Damon asks About what?! I said it's personal. He said NO so I said If he doesn't call me I'm bringing my ex and coming down tonight to speak in person. I wasn't implying it was gonna get into a physical altercation I just wanted my ex for support. Well Scott calls me and instead of hearing me out begins talking over me and defending Damon I was blindsided by that! I said "So yelling at me disrespecting me is OK with you Scott?!" Apparently it's fine to treat clients nastily to him, mind boggling! This took place last week and I've since gone to Modern Age Tattoo in Nanuet, NY where Jimmy not only looked at my foot 2 days ago but gave me EXACTLY what I wanted on the spot! Steer clear of Scott Hill and take the ride out to Modern Age, I PROMISE you.....you will not regret it!!!! P.S. What really pisses me off is he actually looked at my foot and his exact words were "Yea I was thinking about it yup you need a coverup." Ok so why would you not have the decency to call me and tell me when you decided in your head your not gonna do what you said was "no problem" instead of waiting til day/time OF appt when I'm excited all day to get my tat?! Shitty treatment of your clients. read more

AWESOME experience! I went to Scott Hill's tattoo shop today for a tragus piercing. I was greeted by Scott and Damon upon arrival. Even though I did not have an appointment scheduled, Scott was able to accommodate and quickly set up to do my piercing. I found the shop to be very clean and tidy and both Scott and Damon very personable. After my piercing was done, Scott explained the after care of the piercing very thoroughly and told me that if I had any problems to come back immediately. I was very impressed with my experience and would highly recommend going to Scott's shop for a piercing or tattoo. I will be going back to have a tattoo done soon. Great place - love it!!! read more

I first met Damon when I went in for a consult in Sept 2024. I explained what I wanted, he had great ideas and the tattoo came out amazing. I could tell from the get go he was passionate about his work and loved doing what he does. Since my 1st appointment I have gone back almost weekly to have more work done . I have literally spent hours there, always feel welcome when I step in the door by Damon and Scott. Damon and I have great conversations, never an uncomfortable vibe and his work from all my new tattoo's and cover up's have been beyond my expectations. This shop does the best work at the best price in Bergen County hands down. The artists are all super talented doing magazine quality work. The vibe in the shop is so far above other places I have been tattooed at. They have a hospitality suite with snacks, candy, sodas and coffee free. I was running late coming straight for work for a later appointment without dinner so that came in handy. My artist stayed way later than thier closing time and took as long as it needed without rushing to make a fairly detaild tattoo look incredible! I did that and several days later, she reached out on the website with her availability. I responded, on the website, that I'd be there on the date and time she offered. Fast forward, I woke up that morning with a bad sciatica attack. But I didn't want to cancel on her with such a short notice so I dragged myself over there. And she was NOT there. Only 2 young techs, the female whom I recognized as her buddy from when I was there the 1st time. The female called the tech who told her that I never confirmed with her so she didn't come in. When I pulled up the confirming post I sent her, the friend told me it wasn't Kayla's fault, it was the managers fault! So, yeah, she wanted to blame the manager. At that point I was in terrible pain and I told the "friend " that I'd never come back to this shop! Next thing I know, Kayla is messaging me to say she didn't feel comfortable doing my touch up after I said I wouldn't come back. I responded that was fine because she was very unprofessional. She responded to say that I was permanently banned from the shop. That was pretty laughable to me. Like what made her think I would ever come back to her! So, yeah, I'd stay away from Nyce Tattoos!
