Long version: I have been coming to Dr. Dexter for about four years now, and appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into the practice. When you walk in: comfy chairs. Coffee. Relaxing music. Magazines. Clean and tidy. Excellent front desk staff. Back care area is clean, professional and relaxing. Both for adults and children. Hygienists are both fantastic. Excellent job. Every time. Never hurt! Now, Dr. Dexter: Top notch. Thorough. Experienced. Explains things. Doesn't rush you. Has a unique way of providing anesthesia so that it doesn't hurt. Keeps detailed records... he also does a lot of teaching, so he's up to date on all the latest practices. He uses a variety of technology to ensure that your teeth taken care of! He does refer out for root canal and refers out for Orthodontist - and both of these recommendations have been excellent. I've also had crown placement with him, which has taken good care of too... if you have a problem, he will fix it right away. You could also sign up for email and text alerts so you never miss appointments! There is an emergency line. Back up in place if he is not available. Office staff is great.... It's a community. They take Thursdays off just an FYI. My only suggestion is that you check with your insurance company before you go in so you know your financial obligations upfront. Awesome dentist, hygienist and staff! I have suffered horrible dental anxiety my entire life and they were so warm and welcoming. Dr. Dexter is kind, funny, experienced and extremely thorough in his evaluation of your teeth. Katie at the front desk is excellent at maximizing your dental insurance so that you pay the least possible out of pocket. Have a back molar that's been cracked for years. Dr. Dexter asks me if I want him to repair it every appointment. I say no I will wait til it breaks. It broke earlier this month. Dr. Dexter saw me right away, worked on this tooth, and put a temp crown on. Today I visited again so he could install my permanent crown. He performed the work while we carried a pleasant conversation throughout. Frankly, I think Dr. Dexter is the best dentist I've been to in the many decades of my life. I can smile again ! I have always had great teeth until about 10 years ago.I was self employed and could only fiance dental treatment. For about 5 years I used a dental franchise whose dentists changed like a revolving door. When issues arose from a treatment one dentist performed, they were no longer there to fix the problem.Needless to say I believe I lost many teeth that might have been saved had I been under the care of a dentist who knew my history and would provide solutions to save teeth rather to grind them down and slap on bridges. Since 2018 I have lost 8 teeth. I was prepared to fiance implants but I had such severe bone loss after a year of pandemic that I now cannot be a candidate. The word "denture" brings to mind grannies in rocking chairs or teeth floating in a glass.I was devastated to learn that this was my only remaining option. I found Dr Dexter and was at once calmed by his caring and warm disposition. He is more than a skilled dentist, but a human being that has empathy for my situation.He has never tried to push the latest new dental thing at me, yet has an office with equipment that can perform the most advanced, state of the art dental transformations. Dr. Dexter is a walking textbook. Seriously smart as hell. He even teaches dentistry in a clinical college level. He is hilarious and easy going. He loves taking care of his patients and takes adequate time educating them on oral and systemic health. I am a hygienist and have worked with over 20 dentists.
