First let me say I am not an easy customer with a penchant for detail, a tough negotiator and I know what I want. This acumen must come from working with the Goldman Bros in NYC, where I learned "never take no for an answer and everything is negotiable". After scaring 3 painters away on painting a kitchen with 31 cabinets and draws, 5 colors and a loft with an ocean view, I met my match, Scott Sunseri. He figured he could handle me and not because we are both Italian! Scott has a skill set that made the deal. He was a bit higher in price than the other bids, but I could see he was more experienced. Scott was in construction for many years, so he understand design, wood, infrastructure, various kinds of paints, how paints cure, plus he had a flare for design. He convinced me on color choices, handles on cabs, even flooring Scott visited me 3 times before painting. we went over prep, the painting, curing and drying of paints. Scott estimated the job would take 2 weeks, it was 2.5, no problem. He even came back for minor touch ups. He also has a penchant for detail and would not leave the job until Done to perfection! I was looking for a painter to paint the inside of my house for a reasonable price, good, quality and someone that wouldn't take a long time. I hired Scott and his crew to paint my house April of 2015. Scott's bid was right in line with other companies, very fair. What sets Scott apart is his technique and insistence on doing the job above what an average company would settle for being good. Scott helped buy the paint at his cost which was a big help with the costs. He did want to use higher quality paint which is costly, however the results were outstanding. A wall in the master bedroom had been covered in wood paneling, and was damaged when the glued on paneling was removed, but Scott's crew made it look like new and matched the finish to the other walls. We scheduled Scott two months out. When I called to confirm the date, he was ahead of me, said he would be at my home on Monday, 7:30 am to begin work. And he was, exactly @ 7:30. I felt confidant the job would go smooth. We were out 4 nights & he finished a day early. I reserved his time a month in advance & he stuck to the dates I reserved, started & finished as promised. Scott came to give me a quote on painting a rental unit and it was soon obvious that he was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed. He removed the acoustic popcorn ceiling, gave it a beautiful skip trowel texture, primed the unit with an oil-based primer to cover the lingering smell of cigarette smoke and then painted the entire unit.
