Best dental office ever!!!! I hate going to the dentist- I have enough horror stories that will make your head spin. So I was very nervous when I had some tooth pain. Luckily I called Scott Keith and Associates. The scheduling process was so seamless, even though I was a new patient they got me in right away. The paperwork was super easy, and you can fill it out before you arrive. The day of, when I walked in I noticed how welcoming the office is. Every single person in there is so nice! Pam did my cleaning and she was so nice and friendly. She made sure to explain what she was doing and didn't try to sell me all those expensive treatments. It turns out that my tooth was broken, which was why I had felt pain. Dr. Modjeski fit me in and was able to fix my tooth and fill the cavity in it right away. She was very kind about my TMJ and jaw issues and took enough breaks to minimize jaw inflammation or pain. All in all, highly impressed with this practice! My tooth feels better and I am so glad I found a place that doesn't try to up sell you all these crazy procedures and whitening systems and just focuses on the patient. Woohoo! read more

Inflated diagnosis. Went to another dentist the next day. Only needed cleaning. Hmm... Highland wanted to charge me $1600 for "deep cleaning" and a referral to a dental surgeon in their group to take a closer look at a suspicious "lesion" under my molar. Voilá- I returned to my former dentist two days later and he took a full set of x-rays and could not find this suspicious lesion. He also said you are gums and teeth are perfect. No cavities. My experience at this dentist's office was completely unprofessional from start to finish. I was greeted by the hygienist, Billy, who took me back to the chair. I informed her that I was declining X-rays for my visit. The moment I said that, her demeanor became abrupt and cold. She told me she needed to check with the doctor. A few minutes later, Billy returned and informed me that "the doctor would not treat you." The doctor never once came in to speak with me personally, explained why the X-rays were necessary, discussed my concerns, or gave me an opportunity to ask questions. Instead, I was simply dismissed without any communication or professionalism. As I walked towards the front desk, it became obvious that the doctor had no intention of seeing me. After that point, Billy began whispering to another employee. I informed her that I could hear her talking, and instead of handling the situation professionally, she walked around the corner to confront me directly. She proceeded to call me negligent and even questioned my credentials and education. Her behavior was incredibly rude, confrontational, and completely inappropriate for someone working in healthcare. Not once did she offer to involve the doctor or attempt to de-escalate the situation. I had been a patient for years prior to the new owners buying out the practice. They are nice enough, but I have one major complaint and if I could give negative stars I would. At a routine cleaning appointment, they took xrays of my teeth, and pointed out a cavity in the xrays. I asked a bunch of questions because I could not see any difference in what they were showing me versus normal teeth. Long story short, I ended up canceling my appointment for a filling. At my next cleaning, they scolded me for canceling the appointment and were very rude, insisting that I was damaging my health by not taking care of it. Fast forward to today, and I am now a new patient at a new practice. Full set of xrays and zero sign of any cavities. We even looked at the area in question in detail with the dentist and I was assured that there is no sign of any cavity. Trying to fill a pretend cavity because it's profitable is borderline malpractice in my opinion. I strongly suggest you find another place for dental work. read more

Serious concerns Inflated diagnoses: I was told I had far more cavities than a second opinion later confirmed. They insisted my age required a cleaning every three months--something other professionals called unnecessary. Constant "urgent" treatments: Despite regular check-ups, every issue was labeled urgent or advanced, raising doubts about the accuracy of their assessments. High prices and murky "discounts": Fees are among the highest I've seen. They display two columns--"with" and "without" an online discount card--but offer no proof the undiscounted price is real or that you'd actually pay less because of the card. Unpleasant billing experience: The billing clerk becomes defensive when you ask for clarification, as though requesting transparency were unreasonable. Incomplete work that forces return visits: I repeatedly sought treatment for a molar infection that never cleared. At another clinic, a dentist finally discovered residual debris left behind--that was the real source of the infection. It felt as if sub-par work kept me coming back (and paying) without solving the problem. How I verified my doubts: After getting a proper dental insurance plan and visiting a different practice, I learned I needed far fewer procedures than this center had recommended. I was with my prior dentist for 35 years before he retired and was referred to Dr. Scott Keith who also gave me excellent service for many years. Now that Dr. Scott Keith has retired and all of his nice staff retired with him, the office has become so toxic with the revolving door of transient dental Hygienists, a general lack of respect for patients, and the gloom of an overbearing, bullying, and rude office manger. I noticed that the good hygienists are never there the next visit, they are gone, they all seemed scared and intimidated by this office manager! She has bullied me before on the last visit but I thought she would be gone for the next appt in 6 months. This last visit started off negative in which this office manager was telling a patient who had come in for his scheduled appointment that they cancelled his appointment because he didn't respond to a reminder text. He didn't know he was supposed to respond and of course who would have guessed that an appt would be cancelled!!! The office didn't bother to even call the patient. He shows up, probably had to take off work, and then he is told he no longer has appt. I thought his treatment by the office manager was calloused, dismissive, and just bad business! Then she rolls her eyes at me when he was upset!!! She was in the wrong and I don't blame him for being mad. He took it better than I would have. This is the treatment your in for with this office! I am next...I go in to see yet another new dental hygienist that just got out of school and had only been there 2 weeks. Fist thing she says is we have to get X-rays! She knows nothing about my teeth, my history, nothing, I told her I was just in 6 months ago and I do not need xrays. Since she knows nothing about her patient she says that I don't have to pay for them as the insurance will! I told her that I am cash pay and I don't want to be exposed to radiation and pay money for completely unnecessary X-rays. She went to get the bully office manger who called me "Miss Dawn" and demanded I have to have more X-rays. I asked why as I have been getting care here with virtually perfect teeth for years and cleanings every 6 months. She told me that it's "against the law to clean my teeth without xrays every year"! I asked her what law is that and I would like to see that law. She stomped out of the room saying she was getting the "Dr". I had had enough of this lady! She is just a bully and should never have any contact with patients! I left the office after she stomped off pissed off because I questioned her. This dental office, unfortunately, is more concerned about making money for unnecessary xrays forced on every person regardless of patient history and status of teeth. And NO, it is NOT against the law to have your teeth cleaned without an Xray every year, as there is no statutory requirement for annual xrays. The frequency of xrays depends on your individual oral health, age, and risk factors, according to the American Dental Association. When I asked the bully for the indication she could not answer and instead chose to throw the excuse that's "it's against the law" lie at me! I left the office without any care and I will NEVER return again! This is the treatment your in for! They act like they don't know you and they don't as they don't bother to look at your chart nor do they care. They just get those dam Xrays "because they can" and you better not question them as the bully will throw a temper tantrum and stomp out of your room!!! This is not the treatment I am used to receiving from any of my other dentists! Wow!! It's too negative, toxic, bad business practices, mistreatment of patients, huge turnover of dental hygienists, and a lack of care or knowledge of their patients! IMPORTANT. A MUST READ REVIEW: I would like to share my experience with the practice. I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning, nothing more. Dr. Razzaq conducted the periodontal charting/gum probing. Upon completing, I was immediately escorted to another room with a desk an 2 chairs. I immediately knew I was going to be upsold a deep cleaning procedure. I declined the the deep cleaning and in doing so, I was declined a standard dental cleaning. I confirmed the decline with Oscar, the office manager, who is responsible for the upselling of the additional services. He simply would not allow me to move forward with the cleaning I originally had scheduled my appointment. As a brand new patient to this practice, you can imagine I was blind sided with the upsell and the lack of performing services I originally scheduled unless I agreed to the deep cleaning first. Luckily, I did my homework with my insurance company, asked the insurance company to call the practice and confirm I would be covered for the basic cleaning. The insurance company confirmed my service request. It was this practice that would not provide the services. Consider this review a warning if you are planning on scheduling an appointment as a new patient here. In my opinion, this is a violation of industry ethics and standards. Do your homework, ask your questions, and say no to any extra services you may be ""pressured" into purchasing so you can complete your appointment. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE. read more

I was a patient with Dr. Keith and Associates for 17 years and absolutely loved Dr. Keith. The transition to Highland Dental Studio has been rocky at best. The last time I went there, they told me I needed all of these extra cleanings, which had never been the case before. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment and they cancelled on me the day of the appointment via text. I decided that this was no longer a good fit for me and found a different dentist. Fast forward 1 year and 3 months later....I just received a bill? I was confused what for? and why over a year later? So I called today and I could barely here the person on the phone because there was so much background noise. He was also started LAUGHING on the phone. I told him that I needed to speak to billing about this bill and he said he could help. He put me on hold for a very long time and came back and told me that things got confusing when the practice was sold and they put billing on hold? The services that we are talking about occurred in January of 2022!!!! He even admitted that it sound strange, but I have to pay it. I had a very disappointing experience at this dentist office. After needing to reschedule my appointment for treatment, well in advance and for circumstances out of my control, I was spoken too very poorly. Staff was unprofessional in their response and actually told me they would need to confirm with the dentist to decide whether or not they would treat me since I was moving my appointment. I was a brand new patient, and being spoken too with a clearly negative attitude does not make a person want to come back. I will happily take my business somewhere else. I had an onlay fall out and was able to get a same day appointment here yesterday. The ladies at the front desk, the dental assistant, and the dentist were all so friendly and helpful. They got me in and out, with the onlay cemented back on, in 25-30 minutes. My experience was definitely 5 stars and I already convinced my boyfriend to make a teeth cleaning appointment with them. Poorly communicated care instructions lead to unnecessary and redundant work. They are unapologetic about making mistakes and take no responsibility for them. They deal with a lab that is horrible. On several occasions, dealing with different teeth and issues, the lab has either misdelivered my crowns (only brought 1 out of 2) so I had to come back for another appointment, or delayed delivery without explanation or warning, and the office did not bother to check and/or communicate with me, so I had come for nothing; at another time, the lab requested that I come in person for color coordination but made no record of my coming and getting it done, so they kept calling Highland Dental, who in turn kept calling me to "finally come and get it done", thereby delaying my permanent crown installation. This has been going on in the course of over 12 months, yet this dental office continues working with this inept lab, clearly putting their own preferences (money-saving, I'm guessing) over those of clients who get poor service. The receptionists are short-tempered and can be outright rude, and the office manager is a coward who will not speak to you directly when there is a problem, so everything is done over a "broken telephone" by the ill-tempered receptionists shuttling the messages back and forth. The hygienists have a bad attitude, not shying away from sharing their opinion about you. There is only a hygienist who seems pleasant, as is the doctor. So these two people earned the office two stars. However, I am not at all sold on the doctor's professional competence. It is hit-and-miss. Some work she did was great, and then I had a permanent crown that she installed dislodge and fall out on the fifth day after she had cemented it in place. And then, there is shady billing. I have signed a treatment plan for $0 out of pocket only then to have a new plan show up in the middle of treatment with hundreds of dollars in new charges and no explanation (see above ab. the office manager). No changes in treatment - just sudden extra charges! Finally, they failed to bill my insurance in a timely manner and - by their own admission - never billed me directly in a timely manner, but a year later decided that I owed them $1200 because "it was too late to bill the insurance." To sum up: bad attitude and work ethic, questionable quality of dental work, and shady billing practices. Would I recommend this place to a friend? Absolutely not. read more

I had been a patient of Dr. Keith's for years, but after he suddenly abandoned the practice I decided to find a new dentist closer to home. On my last visit there I filled out the paperwork to have my dental records and xrays transferred to my new dentist when I decided on one. In October 2022, I'd found a new dentist, and I emailed Highland Dental Studio to send my records to him. Imagine my surprise and dismay when I arrived for my first appointment with the new practice in February 2023, and they hadn't received the records. I immediately called Highland Dental Studio, asked them AGAIN to send my records RIGHT AWAY. I was told that they'd "changed their system" and couldn't provide the actual xrays, but would send a photo. Naturally, that photo of a photo they emailed to my new dentist was useless, and meant that I'd need a whole new round of xrays. Highland Dental Studio's front office staff is inefficient, uncaring, and incompetent. They routinely mix up appointments, so when you arrive they aren't expecting you. And my story illustrates how they're seemingly unable to transfer your records - a simple administrative task. We as consumers have lots of choices in providers. We don't have to put up with this nonsense. read more

Since the office was taken over by Highland in the spring, I have never had a worse experience. My kiddo went in for a filling and it was the most excruciating filling ever. So much pain and discomfort. This office used to be so good with Dr. Keith, but this new crew is not personable at all. In fact, they cancelled a follow up procedure and didn't even bother to tell us. Then, because my kid has a medical condition, they fired us from their practice. I had a front tooth on my top denture come loose from the plate. I went to this office, knowing I would be sent to a dental lab to perform the repair. I saw the receptionist (Oscar), who put a bib on me and put me in an exam room. 10 minutes later he came in the room, removed the bib and gave me the name and address of the lab. I figured I owed them something for the referral, gave him my debit card, and without receiving an itemized receipt, I left the office, heading to the lab. The folks at the lab had the repair done in about 20 minutes. When I got home I looked at the receipt from this office and realized i had been charged FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS FOR THE PHONE CALL THE RECEPTIONIST MADE TO THE LAB. i never saw a dentist at the office. I asked at the office today for an explanation and at least a partial refund for this outrageous charge and was told I would not be getting any money back. If I did the math correctly I paid $4600 and hour for an effing phone call. THIS PLACE IS AN INCOMPETENT RIP OFF. Unless you have too much money and not enough stuff to spend it on, I highly recommend getting your dental needs taken care of elswhere. read more

Well...I'm super excited to be the first to review because I freaking love my dentist. How many of you can say that? Super clean office, friendliest staff ever at the front desk, and dental hygienists are all nice and most cute. Not to mention Dr. Scott is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He's a good dentist too. About 5 years ago one of my front teeth got chipped when my dog decided to bash his head into my teeth. I've had perfect teeth my whole life, and when that happened I was a poor, uninsured student that couldn't afford cosmetic dental work. 5 years later, I get insurance and during my first check up he says what a shame it is to have that chip...so he fixes it! He said there was some insurance work around and it cost me $0.00. You would never even know that my tooth was once chipped. I have been coming to Dr. Keith for years, started when I moved to Central Phoenix in 2011. I have many bad experiences from other Dentist and what a relief to find a Dentist and his office staff that actually care and they are honest. I had another appointment to get a cleaning done in that same office, after the cleaning the Lady that did the cleaning had another dentist come in and evaluate what I needed done. She came up with five different things I needed done. I went to the front office and told them that I was concerned since I had seen Dr. Keith not that long ago and he never mentioned all of these things. They immediately got me seated in Dr. Keith's area, he took one look and said no I'm sorry you don't need this. So I know he is honest. They are simply the best. I see a negative review and really have a hard time believing this happened, I have never had such good treatment at a dentist office as I have there. I'm so happy! Going to the dentist is now a joyous occasion, no shame, no pain and no scarce parking, no dingy office, no rude staff . . . I've hit the oral jackpot! Dr. Keith and staff are classy, top notch, PROFESSIONAL, caring, attentive and empathic. I would say run, don't walk to this fine establishment because i know this smooth goodness cannot be found elsewhere. I barely drive out of my scottsdale neighborhood but i'm happy to make the trek to dr. keith's office. (and there's a dentist's office right where my business is) i wholeheartedly encourage any person of any age with any mouth to see dr. keith. really truly impressive. when visiting his office for the first time i got the sense that everyone "clicked" and worked well which serves us all. Dr. Keith's office Overcharged me September of 2017 I had upper and lower partials made. Wendy who works in the billing department, sent my insurance company a predetermination request for $2,887, however, she only billed the insurance company for $1,331. She said my portion would be $936 based on the $2,887 when I should have only paid $778 based on the submitted $1,331. According to my insurance company, I was overcharged $158.50, which Dr. Keith's office refuses to refund to me and instead keeps sending me invoices for an additional $158.50. If I am dumb enough to pay this inaccurate additional sum, I would be overpaying by $317. Dr. Keith's patients beware! This could and probably has happened to you if you didn't scrutinize and question your insurance company's explanation of benefits closely enough. read more

0 Stars Roughly a year and a half ago, I commenced an in-depth plan initiated by Dr. Scott Keith and Associates that involved orthodontia, extraction, implant, and final crown placement. As an adult, it was a long, arduous (and wildly expensive) journey that I was desperately awaiting to bring to a close. This process was to all culminate in me visiting Dr. Keith and Associates for one final time to have a tooth//crown attached to my implant (that's just the screw inside your gum, fyi) so that I may reenter society as a fully-formed, all-toothed human. As I write this, I am currently without a canine tooth and also without a tray that aptly covers (they put in my final phase implant screw, which doesn't jive with my orthodontist's cover-up tray), so I have an empty gap and exposed metal where my right canine should be. I am also set to be married tomorrow. At 10:15a this morning, Julie confirmed my 8:00a appointment. Wootie woot!! Tooth at last!! At approximately 3:00p today (T-minus 24 hours to marriage), Julie calls again to say that the tooth attachment won't arrive. After a year and a half of planning. Dr. Scott Keith and Associates have been nothing but unhelpful and their ineptitude is positively glimmering. Good gosh, if I could give a dirty, brown star for incompetence. It is 100% their responsibility to manage their crown vendors and for me to hear about it less than 24 hours before my appointment (after 1.5 yrs waiting) feels awful. I'm disappointed and cancelled my next cleaning with them as such, which proved equally as difficult: I told Julie I was scheduled for 02/16..... and she couldn't find it to cancel. After supplying the time of 2:30p, she managed her way around the busy calendar after a long while. Yipes. Bottom line: They've got a lot of patients. Don't get lost in the mix. We are bad at follow-up and hadn't seen the Dr. in over a year. My boyfriend's tooth had been hurting for a few days, getting progressively worse. We were able to get him in within a few hours of calling, and his tooth was removed that day. The staff is all very nice and professional. read more

It is not uncommon to hear, "That doctor saved my life," right? But can you tell me when you've heard, "That dentist saved my life,"? I would be willing to bet my two front teeth that you have never heard the phrase uttered anywhere. Well, that statement is one I can make, applying to Dr. Keith. During a routine (but extremely thorough) oral exam, Dr. Keith found a suspicious, but not dangerous looking lesion that had not been present in the previous exam six months earlier. He and his staff immediately arranged a consult with an oral surgeon. They did all the work; all I had to do was show up for the appointment, which I did. An excisional biopsy was performed, (the whole 2 cm lesion was removed by the surgeon in his office.) Test results showed the lesion to be a Stage II squamous cell carcinoma! I have been to dentists who do what I would consider a cursory oral exam, maybe poke around a little bit, have you stick out your tongue, things like that. I have also had dentists who do not do even that. As I wrote earlier, Dr. Keith's oral exam was complete and comprehensive. It was determined that the cancer I had was very aggressive. If that tumor had been overlooked during that exam, chances were good that it would have had the opportunity to spread, first to lymph nodes, then other areas of the body. Survival rates for people with cancer that has spread to lymph nodes is terrifyingly low. (I actually went to high school with a girl who died from this type of cancer.) It has been 16 years since Dr. Keith found the tumor that could have killed me. He literally saved my life, for which I am eternally grateful. I will never forget what he did, or that I owe my life to him. read more

I have been so scared to go back to the dentist. My last one charged over $8,000 for my dental work,yes really. Lots of work was needed. Well i broke a crown and just didn't know what to expect. Reluctant to go in because of the $$$ and also the pressure of the staff as too the cost of things. Most of all the fact that i don't do well in closed in areas. To my surprise the office is great, open spaces, kind staff, Renee is awesome, gentle and caring. Dr. SCOTT, was professional very kind and has a great sense of humor.
