Not my favorite breakfast if I had to be honest. The beans were too liquify and seemed to have big chunks of stewed tomatoes which wasn't for me. The sausages and haggis were good but only came with one egg. We asked for sauce and it never came and also more eggs and they came as we were finishing. Overall just ok.

Really amazing breakfast spot right on Victoria street. Would recommend coming early to beat the queue. Service is friendly, and you get to try various traditional Scottish food with your breakfast. I ordered 2 eggs over avocado toast with haggis, blood pudding, and sausage - it was extremely hearty. Recommend.

We loved the ambiance right away; such a cute little place overlooking Victoria street. We came for breakfast after reading great reviews on TripAdvisor. Scott's kitchen did not disappoint. I ordered the poached egg with avocado on toast. Absolute perfection. Everything was so fresh and the toast was nice and crispy. My husband loved his order on blood sausage with the eggs. We also had some hot chocolate and chai tea, which were seriously delicious. It was a perfect start to the day and we'd recommend Scott's kitchen to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Lovely place in the upper terrace of Victoria street. The place feels intimate, with small tables and people close together, while at the same time light and airy, with tall ceilings and big windows that let in a lovely light, even on a rainy day. The food is excellent! The "award-winning" haggis was superb, at least, to me. I have little experience with it so few reference points. Braised beef was good; salad was well done. One thing that surprised me was the presentation was quite artful despite my impression of this place more of a bistro. While I didn't try them, there's a separate and extensive menu for alcohol and soft drinks, including fancy hot chocolate, smoothies, and rhubarb soda, to just name some examples. Bathrooms: Super-nice. Like, suburban corporate office nice. And numerous, including one with a baby-changing station.

Left was haggis, right was the venison casserole.

The service was surprisingly fast! The waitress, Francesca, was very welcoming and attentive. I feel like we ordered and had our food within a 10 minute window. This location also had a great view of the royal mile. We ordered the venison casserole and the haggis. Everything was very good and would definitely recommend to any looking for a delicious Scottish meal.

    A full Scottish breakfast!

Had a lovely full Scottish breakfast! The meal was beautifully prepared, and the staff did an excellent job. Highly recommended!

a great breakfast experience here in edinburgh! we ordered the scottish beakfast and everything was delicious. i also tried the aztec hot chocolate but i wouldnt recommend that as it tasted extremely watery. besides that, it was perfect. the service was incredible and very friendly. the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. if you're visiting edinburgh, don't miss this spot.

Best, freshest meal in all of Edinburgh and friendliest staff. Given the touristy heart of the city it resides in we didn't feel it.

Our first time in Edinburgh and we decided to try the Haggis against initial judgement and advice, but glad we did!

We clearly didn't plan things out well, as we had to scramble to hit stops 6 and 7 within an hour of closing, on our last full day in Edinburgh. But, in our defense, coffee shops close up super early in Edinburgh! We hustled our way from the Mile towards Cairngorm, side-stepping tourists and hurrying across intersections. On a normal day, it would've been a nice jaunt through town, but on this day, it was a hectic seemingly-longer-than-it-should-have-been-half-sprint to the front door. I did love the feel of this shop, from the steps leading down to the cozy interior and the bags of spent coffee bean lining the ceiling. The girl working that day was very nice and welcoming. We placed our order and settled into a small table near the back of the building. I kept an eye on the barista (hubby's back was to the counter) so that I could pop up to grab our drinks when they were ready, but she brought them to us, instead. She saw our Disloyal 7 cards out on the table, and said, "Be sure to bring that by before you leave so that I can stamp them!" The lattes were good, with a nice, rich and creamy flavor. I think I could've ended our night here, wrapped up in the warmth of a good latte and a comfortable chair, but my husband pointed out that we had time to get to the final stop on our list, if we hurried. So, we went up to the counter and had the barista stamp their slice, and then hurried once more into the cold Edinburgh dusk.

The bun maska was perfectly drenched in butter, and the chai was hot and comforting. The chili chicken was also really flavorful with the perfect spice level. For our mains, we got the Ruby Chicken and House Black Dal with garlic naan, chili paratha, and a side of plain rice. The Ruby Chicken had a delicious tomato gravy, and the chicken pieces were really soft. The dal was thick and creamy. Everything paired together so well. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was beautiful, with a Bombay-inspired atmosphere. There's seating both upstairs and downstairs, and while we didn't have any issues, I've heard there can be long wait times. Our server was friendly, although the service felt a little sloppy at times. They also surprised us with complimentary champagne since we were celebrating a special occasion, which was really nice. I found the portions to be a little smaller, and it's definitely on the pricier side, but I think it's worth the splurge. If you're visiting the UK, I'd definitely recommend checking out Dishoom!

And the service is attentive. It's a beautiful thing to witness, even better to experience. My Negroni order was sent to the bar while my server and I chatted about what I might like. So efficient. Those small plates were not so small! Loads of food for one, perfect starters for two. Finished with a house chai - delicious!
