I was in town for my daughter orientation at Cal Poly and want to be safe on the road during driving back to Bay Area. I need to have my transmission flush. I searched on yelp for the shop near my hotel and I call couple shop for price and will take walk in. I was too excited to go for my daughter orientation and forgot to do transmission flush. The car only has 40K miles on it. Normally, I do this job myself. Anyway I did got couple of shop that takin walk in and price. I just needed an oil change,my gas mileage wasn't what it should've been...the estimate was just over $100 but I figured that was normal for a college town. I'm giving 2 stars because they got me in and out of the shop at the times promised. When the call came in that my oil change was completed I was happy, then came the information that I Needed new air filters, both of them, And they had already ordered them. I felt obligated to have them installed by the shop. I figured it couldn't be much more...I was wrong. The bill was over $260. The labor charge was outrageous for installing the cabin filter, we've done it before ourselves it doesn't take much time and it's not difficult. One more thing, they told me ahead of time they would check all the fluids, I knew I needed windshield washer fluid...they charged me for it. I've never been charged for washer fluid before and I've had this car for 6 years. Not even the dealership charges for that. It's crazy because they came so highly recommended. Don't go here unless you're looking to waste money. Went here to get my brakes done and it didn't even make it all the way back home before the starter went out. After going to another shop, I found out the brake repair was not even complete $1200 later. Also had a friend go here that had to take their car back after getting their starter done and the windows wouldn't roll down after. On October 27th I called multiple shops around town to find out their mask wearing policies for an oil change. When I called Scott's Shop and he said they don't wear masks while working on vehicles, that was the information I needed and I ended the call kind of abruptly because I had to call other places. Then I got multiple phone calls which I did not answer. The next day I received a call from Scott. He started the call out by saying he was looking for masks, then elaborated that he was looking for masks that say "f--- you." Confused, I hung up. I wondered why this guy was mad at me so I decided to call back. After I asked why he said that to me he said "no one hangs up on me" and proceeded to call me a "f--- face", said I wasn't breast fed, etc. He told me my name, location, phone number, just like he did in his comment below which felt threatening. I mentioned the reason I was concerned was because me and my girlfriend are in high-risk groups for Covid-19, but I admitted that I was wrong about my belief that mechanics are required to wear masks while working on vehicles and I apologized for having had that expectation. He said that we should just stay home and he kept on being rude. Since he seemed threatening (particularly when he told me that he knows my name and location), I decided to post a review under a fake name. It turns out I was right to feel threatened, because he posted my information publicly here and sent me an angry message. Scott says that I'm not a customer and not allowed in his shop, which is fine because I already decided not to go there. Scott says I should treat people how I want to be treated. Well...I didn't swear, yell, or call Scott names. The thing I did that made him so mad is choosing not to go to his shop and hanging up too soon. Scott said "you're an entitled coward. But that could be because your parents did not raise a stand up man" and claims that I'm "trying to hurt the reputation of hard working people." I have a ton of respect for hard working people who are risking their lives to help others. I have nothing against any of the employees here, and like I said, I don't have anything against their mask policy. But handling anger by calling someone over and over, yelling at them, swearing at them, and questioning their upbringing definitely doesn't sound like a "stand up man" to me. read more

Cliche but this is the type of auto shop that takes advantage of people they assume don't know about cars, especially women. I came in for an oil change, they charged me for it as if they'd completed the service and later I found out that they hadn't touched anything under the hood. Just had some work done by Scott's on my wife's classic car and am very impressed with the level of service at Scott's. After the minor work was completed they actually drove it to the local tire shop to have them do sone pre-arranged work on the wheels and tires! Then later my other car had a check engine light on and I took it by Scott's. Scott took the time to scan the code and find out what the trouble was for NO charge!! Many shops would charge for the scan. Am taking the car back soon to Scotts to repair and the shop has definitely earned our business. They got the truck in in two days on a Friday and it was returned on Monday all finished. The price was less than they quoted and faster than they stated it would take to be completed.
