We recently welcomed a granddaughter into the family and my husband and I wanted to gift a box of cigars to our son-in-law. We called a dozen shops looking for "it's a girl cigars" in the west valley and kept coming up with nothing. About to give up, I called Scottsdale Cigars, the gentleman on the line knew exactly what I was looking for and said oh yes I have exactly what you are looking for! I then made the 40 minute drive from Avondale to Scottsdale, upon entering the store front I was greeted by Jimmy. Was enroute to the Waste Management open & the Coors Light Birds Nest and noticed this establishment. Got to meet Jimmy at the shop enjoyed the hospitality. Bought a good amount cigars at some great prices & got to enjoy the lounge on the backside of the humidor, nice cozy area to smoke with the Arizona locals, nice fellas and there is a giant tv screen to enjoy the game and smoke. I happened to stop by as a visitor from California. Jimmy made me feel at home right away, showed me around his shop and let me have free reign to look over his selection. Boy what a selection! He had every top brand and some rare cigars stocked in quantities! I questioned him about his prices because I noticed they were a lot lower than I was used to. He just smiled and said, we don't price gouge here. What a refreshing surprise to stumble upon this gem of a store and owner! The service here is the best you'll find. I'll drive further and pay more to give my Money to Jimmy. I had a humidor my parents gave me years ago that was hinge bound. Dropped it off. Jimmy said come back on Monday. I showed up and bam- it was like new. He wouldn't take money, just asked me to come to him when I needed cigars. I haven't gone anywhere else since that day. I was introduced to Scottsdale Cigars after my girlfriend Anne bought a humidor for my birthday. Even though Anne bought the humidor from an online company, the owner, Jimmy, of Scottsdale Cigars helped her "condition" it. Then he recommended a couple to put in the humidor. Anne praised how helpful and friendly Jimmy was to her, I had to check this place out. On my first visit, Jimmy was helpful in recommending a few new cigars to try. I was not disapointed with them and returned for more. I was impressed the most by how personable Jimmy is to me and everyone I bring/recommend to Scottsdale Cigar. I came in originally looking for a Mi Amor Reserva made by Ashton however after talking to Jimmy he recommended to me one of his favorite sticks Tatuaje (Tattoo in spanish). This boutique cigar was very good. A nice kick in the beginning and then smooths out over the course of smoking the stick. Thanks Jimmy for the recommendation. When it comes to cigars, I am Jon Snow - I know nothing. I called ahead to ask about rehydrating some cigars my boss gave me as a wedding gift and I was told to come in so their life could be assessed. Once in the shop we were treated like kings! I was given good care instructions and I was told to follow up in a couple of weeks to replace the hydration packs. A SIX STAR EXPERIENCE!! I am a Nat Sherman cig smoker (Nats are only available at cigar stores). About two months ago, the entire region ran out of Nats while the manufacturer transitioned ownership. A wonderful cigar shop with an amazing selection of cigars both foreign and domestic. Jimmy provides a convivial atmosphere with a handful of regulars that always makes for interesting conversation. TV usually turned to CNN, Fox, MSNBC or CNBC. Weekend almost always feature a sporting event of some sort. Free Cokes/Diet Cokes too! Jimmy remembers even the most irregular of customers and will offer his opinion (when asked) on the best cigar for your tastes. He also speaks about 6 languages!! There may be a better Cigar Shop in Scottsdale but I can't imagine going anywhere other than Scottsdale Cigars. read more

I have been going to Scottsdale Cigars for well over 5 years now. Jimmy, the shop owner, knows the value of good customer service. Let me give you an example: On New Year's eve ( a scant two days ago), I had to work late. It was after closing time, but Jimmy saw me pull up. I was going to leave, but he motioned for me to go ahead and park. He opened up the store so that I could get the cigars I wanted. How many retailers in any business, do you know of that would give you that kind of service? Personally, I know of exactly 1. Jimmy's shop is clean, he is the consummate professional, and he consistently keeps his walk-in humidor well stocked, as well as at the proper humidity. I have to say out of all the Cigar shops that I have been to, this has been hands down the most welcoming and friendly shop that I could imagine. The environment when you walk in the door is nothing shy of a Vegas boutique with out the mark up. Jimmy's presence is warming on your first visit. In a time when retail falling by the way side, Scottsdale Cigar treats everyone as a Client and not just a Customer. Once you stop in, you will quickly find that this is a destination in of itself and not just a waypoint on your travels. Such a large selection of product may be intimidating to most but when I knew that this was my last Cigar shop that I would ever need was when my girlfriend went in to pick up a variety of Cigars for my birthday.
