I love taking my dog here for half days of daycare. They have an outdoor area and they rotate high energy dogs and low energy dogs out to play at different times. Can't say enough about the Scottsdale Pet Hotel, their staff and services. I had to board my two active adult pups while I recovered from a total knee replacement. The prices were very reasonable. I got several calls telling me how they were doing. One is very outgoing and the other very shy and they got one on one attention. After a month I expected some re-conditioning but both dogs were happy, healthy, well fed and exercised and adjusted to being home on the first day. The staff made me feel very comfortable, they followed my feeding instructions and used the food I took for them. Just a great overall experience. Unfortunately this was the worst place that our 15 yr old Yorkie has stayed in. We chose this place for the reviews, and I honestly doubt their rewards and acclamation. Our Bella stayed over the New Years weekend. When I entered with my nephew, it reeked of piss. The stenched was overwhelming. We picked up our dog during her stay for a quick outing and they required we pay to check her out. She has boarded in mutiple facilities and we've never experienced this before but I went ahead and cooperated. When we picked her up for the walk, she had piss and stench all over her and her eyes had green gunk. We had to dry wash her with a water bottle and wipes in our trunk. I was honestly in shock. They also told us they'd ensured she'd be bathed upon checkout. We were driving back to California so her being clean was even more important. To our surprise, she WAS NOT bathed and she was in awful condition when we picked her up. Her eyes were really gross and irrtiated with green gunk AGAIN and her fur was matted as if she slept in filth. The attendant had no idea she was checking out and he was honestly embarrassed. The prior attendant, a blonde female, assured us she'd be bathed but she did not communicate anything to our check out guy. I was beyond shocked and our dog was disgusting. There was no way we were going to drive back 5 hrs to California with her in that condition. The check out guy scrambled and at the last minute offered to give her a dry bath, but honestly it was not good enough, but I believe he did his best as he was the only person at the facility at the time. We ended up going to a grocery store and getting more water, wipes, and towels to bath her in our trunk. We've never experienced anything like this before. Terrible facility. I am gobsmacked that this place is given the accreditation it has. We come to AZ often and we will never use this place every again. read more

The private luxury suite is advertised as is.. Private.. Luxury.. suite. It is also advertised that there could be a tv with soothing noises 24 hrs a day. LIE. It is far from that. I was expecting my dogs to have a fully enclosed room and instead it's a full boarding kennel with see through gates and the only privacy is two walls in between. I had asked for photos and was told that would be extra upon request so of course I requested and received one photo during the entire weekend stay. My dogs smelled so bad or urine I couldn't even have the windows up in my car on the drive home. I will never take my dogs back here. Not to mention the up-charges are insane for the condition this place is in. Stay away. read more

After adopting my dog a few months ago, I was really nervous in trying to find the right boarding for Harley since she is aggressive towards other dogs and is hesitant with strangers when I'm around. They were able to set up individual play time for Harley (for a small additional daily fee). The staff at Scottsdale Pet Hotel eased my anxiety upon drop off and they sent me pictures of her everyday!! The day I picked her up, I could tell she really loved all of the staff. I recently rescued a large long-haired cat the was in pretty rough shape. She was matted terribly and it was urgent she be shaved. The staff is incredible. The staff were upfront about my pet's upcoming needs, and recommended any training they thought he would benefit from. Everybody was knowledgeable and friendly throughout the entire process. You can tell they really care about what happens to these dogs, and are trying to find their forever homes. I have since been taking him in for daycare, baths, and nail trims on a regular basis. The yard is big and he absolutely loves playing with the other dogs. My dog hates baths and nail trims, and all of their staff have been able to bathe him and safely trim his nails. This is a very reasonably priced facility, ran by true animal lovers, and as long as I live in the valley, I will continue to drive the extra 10 miles it takes for me to get there. Stopped in the other day for a quick tour as I am looking for a place to board my dogs while on vacation. The guy working was super nice to drop what he was doing to show us around. There is a cat area/cages right when you walk in the back which seem like an okay place to hang out if you're a cat. We were then led to the dog hotel portion and shown the regular kennels and suite size. Two smaller dogs can fit in the regular size. There is a small play room for small dogs and a covered potty area however there is no real grass. We were then led farther back to where the rescues are held. It was refreshing to see that they take in rescues and try to rehome them. There is a large, partially covered outdoor play area but like other play area has no grass and is mostly concrete. They also offer grooming. Overall the place was darkly lit and felt like a dog shelter you might see on those sad dog commercials. Compared to other boarding facilities this place is pricey and not as nice. I decided to use another service that offers dog boarding. However they do seem to care for the dogs and keep things clean and make sure they go out on a regular basis. If in a pinch or looking for a place to board your cat or dog, then don't rule out this place read more

We really appreciate the staff at SPH, loving on our big Bentley while we are gone. Before we scheduled anything, they were graciously accommodating with a tour and the many questions I had. Everything was clean, and it didn't smell like dog or anything else inside. There is a "yard" in the back with shaded astroturf and misters for outdoor playtime. We have used their boarding, day care, and nail clipping services for the better part of 2016. I would definitely recommend this place because they have just been so wonderful with our very energetic large breed mutt. One dog had ACL surgery and the other has a bit of social anxiety yet they are sooooo happy while they're at Scottsdale pet hotel and they are so tired when they get home from daycare . The cost is right, the service is spot on, and the result exceeds expectations always. The GF and I were headed out of town for a weekend at Lake Roosevelt to do some canyoning. We dropped our pups off on Friday afternoon after the "check-in" time (3PM) with the understanding that "check-out" time is 12 noon daily. We were planning on picking up our fuzzy, four-legged children on Sunday before noon. We camped out Friday night, did our canyon run on Saturday, and decided to head back to town Saturday night for a soft bed and a puppy-free evening. Come Sunday morning, happy and relaxed, we find out that Scottsdale Pet Hotel does not open for pick-ups or drop-offs on Sunday until 3 PM (their check-out time). So the dogs were held for that much longer, and we were charged another night for picking up after the check-out time. My GF was, to say the least, a little miffed by this loophole which they use to ream Sunday customers. The place smelled of dogs (as to be expected). It's impossible to know if they had the outdoor play time for which we were charged extra. In their defense, the service was friendly and the pups did not appear mistreated. Overall, though, Scottsdale Pet Hotel is not a sparkling gem in the local pet-care industry. read more

I've been using SPH for approximately two years now to board my cat, and they are GREAT! There was about a year where I didn't need to board her, and when I called them up again, Laura remembered my kitty immediately BY NAME. That's not normal for places that have so many customers. To me, it was a testament to how much Laura cares about the animals she looks after. The rest of the staff are also really good about remembering names and life situations; they always ask about things in my life that I mentioned during my last visit, which is a nice touch that I appreciate. I remember the first time I brought my kitty in, I returned to pick her up and she was roaming Laura's office space free - how cool is that? It made me happy to know that she was getting so much attention. Since then, the staff always keep me informed about how she did during her stay, and are very kind, helpful, and accommodating. They've never lost anything, either, which is saying a lot because I usually bring a lot of different items (such as small toys) that could easily be misplaced. It seems to me that they take very good care of her and give her plenty of attention, as she's never stressed, angry, or overly needy when she comes home. I'll continue using SPH so long as I'm living here in town; these guys are the best! read more

My dog doesn't get along with other dogs and my usual Rover sitter was booked so I had to find a kennel. This place seemed affordable for individual dog care - the rooms were bigger than other kennels I've seen and the play area was large with fake grass and shade sails. The staff were friendly and seemed competent and my dog was happy and appeared well taken care of. When I did the tour I was told that their rates were going up but I would get the current rate because I checked in before the change over date and that potty breaks were included in the price but I could schedule individual playtime (since my dog can't go out with the other dogs) for an extra fee per day. I agreed to schedule one day of this but when we booked in it turned out to be a mandatory extra fee for all the days plus an extra fee per day for medication administration (she has one tablet with dinner). And then when we got the bill we'd been charged the new higher rate for the stay. I think the care here is of a high standard - just be prepared for the hidden charges! read more

I always used to feel guilty having to leave them behind when I left for a trip, but I no longer do because when we pull up to the building their tails are wagging. When they see the familiar faces of the caretakers they are excited to see their friends. The owner Laura has such a big heart for animals, I always know my dogs are well taken care of.
