I took my dog Zeke here for grooming several times, because it's close to where I live, and I also took him there recently for teeth cleaning with one of their partners. Lugari usually does a pretty good job grooming, however they are snobby & pretentious, condescending, disorganized, nickel-and-diming, and sometimes bad at handling animals. I decided to stop using their services, due to a few bad experiences at their salon. They usually charged me $98.33 to bath and trim my Aussie (includes sanitary trim, teeth brushing, and nail clipping). There is an additional fee for using a credit card vs cash. The first time I went there, they charged an extra $5 for his toothbrush, which they promised to hold for his grooming sessions. The last time I took him there for grooming, they told me that they had not clipped his nails on the front paws nor brushed his teeth, because "Zeke wouldn't let them" trim his front paws," and they accidentally threw away his toothbrush. They said every time they tried to trim his front paw nails, he tried to bight the groomer. (I wondered why they did not try using a muzzle or a helper. A few days later, they clipped his nails at the vet with no problem just by hugging him.) They offered to sell me another toothbrush for brushing his teeth, since they had thrown away the one they had for him. The office manager argued with me for a while about Zeke's behavior during previous nail clippings, and then the owner gave him a new toothbrush and brushed his teeth in front of me. Then, he told me that Zeke needed to get his teeth professionally cleaned and asked me if ai wanted to sign up for that in April. He quoted the price of $210 for a dog over 50lb, and a few days before the teeth cleaning, they texted me to confirm this price for cash only and inform me that it was $218 with a card. When I brought Zeke for teeth cleaning, they had me fill out a form with his basic info like breed and weight, which I entered as 62lb based on his last vet visit 2 weeks earlier. Then, the lady conducting the teeth cleaning informed me that it would be an additional $15 charge (cash price), because he weighed 72lb. I was very surprised and dismayed to learn that they had an additional pricing tear that I had not been informed of, and they were determined to get the additional surcharge based on what appeared to be a faulty scale that would not stop flickering. I remarked that there must be an issue with the scale, because it was impossible for a healthy dog to gain 10lb in 2 weeks after being confirmed as 62lb at the vet's office. I asked to see the scale, and they brought if out and put him on it. I could see it flickering various numbers from 68 to 70.1 lb, but it never settled on a number. They tried again and said it must not be zeroed out, because it said 35lb. They tried again, and it flickered again at 68 to 70.1lb. She said I could either pay the extra fee or take him home and come back after he lost half a pound. Shocked that they had the gall to refuse service to Zeke at the quoted price, I took him away and cancelled all future appointments. I am amazed that Lugari and their partners treat their loyal customers with such disrespect and impudence, and I do not plan to go back to them in the future. It is not worth dealing with such rude and dishonest behavior to get an overpriced service that is offered elsewhere by more respectable salons. read more

I just love Victoria and the way she takes care of my family's pups! I always say she's the best to ever do it and when I say that I mean it; she genuinely cares for our dogs' well-being. There have been two occasions where she was really there for us when 2 of our old dogs crossed and the rainbow bridge, and she was always patient and gentle with them and their needs. Not typically one to leave bad reviews... my pup and I didn't have the best initial experience, however I decided to give them a second chance this weekend and unfortunately it was more of the same. The customer service was decent at best. Short and condescending, acting like my 9 month old puppy was an inconvenience to them. My dog was still wet when I picked her up and they cut her nails too far back. No apology or explanation just "oh by the way we cut a couple of her nails too far back." Followed by a $95 charge. I will not be coming back and I would especially recommend if you have a younger dog to look elsewhere because they do not have the skill nor the patience to handle them. read more

We called Lugari Pet Salon to inquire if they are able to give our dog a nail trim without any other services. They informed us that they were able to, and were also able to accommodate us immediately. The salon is super cute and feels luxorious. Maple's nails are the perfect length and they even were able to use the dremel on her nails, which speaks to their skills as she is notoriously nicknamed the wiggle worm. It can be 3 hours from the time you make an appointment till when you get your pet back "because there are others in front of you." What's the point of making an appointment then?? Also don't plan on waiting for your pet there because they don't allow you to sit in the lobby and wait even though there are TWO CHAIRS. I proceeded to sit down and was asked to "go shop or wait in the car." Wtf? Ps they were supposed to work on my dog's anal gland (which was included in the package) but didn't. How did I find out? I personally had a bad experience with this place which resulted in having to take my pet to the veterinarian where he was diagnosed with scleral hemorrhage and inflammation of sclera caused by asphyxiation. When calling to follow up the owner states he was fine during the appointment and deflecting negligence. So due to this reason I will not be coming back. read more

Unfortunately I've become extremely disappointed and concerned with my pet's safety at this salon. Ivan alway gives my cat a beautiful and clean hair cut .... but this is the SECOND time now that my cat has left the salon injured. We've taken my cat here three or four times now, one time they cut her nails so short, that it was cut into the quick on the nail and we could tell she had been bleeding and had dried blood around her paw. I reached out to the owner with the picture below and he said he did not know at all that she had been injured. I completely understand that people make mistakes and although the kitty limped for a few days, she was eventually okay. The owner was nice and showed empathy towards the situation. Mistakes happen, it's okay. A few months later we brought her back in, and cut her nails ourselves ahead of time and asked for them to please not cut her nails. Although they still cut her nails, against our request, she was fine and all went well. This time, a few months later, we cut her nails before the appointment ourselves again, bring her in and asked again that they do not cut her nails. After the appointment she will not put weight on her front paw at all. I check her paw and they have cut her nails against our request and extremely short. Our kitty has been holding up her front paw for two days now, clearly injured. She won't jump up onto her favorite sitting spots anymore and hasn't been walking around as much. I will wait a few more days are bring her to the vet if the issue persists. I completely understand that it may be difficult to groom a cat if their nails aren't super short, but I would have at least liked the owner to ask me if it's okay to cut her nails or talked to me about it. Now I have a cat who has been injured twice here. So sad, because the grooming in truly PHENOMENAL, the cat looks so so cute, but not worth injuring your poor kitty. Usually a great experience. Today we were called and told how bad our Dog was matted today and that we would need to pay 50% more. She goes every 4-6 weeks and we brush her out every day. I brought my dog Wrigley in for the first time and had the best experience. He is an anxious dog and has a lot of energy. Cassie was extremely helpful when I dropped him off and when I picked him up. She was extremely thorough and even showed me pictures of areas they had to trim closer so I was aware. Not to mention, he looks adorable and it is the best haircut he has ever gotten by far. I've had my shih tzu for 9 years. Ivan did such a great job with my little fur baby. I'm so impressed! I love that he does not put them in cages and lets the dogs interact with each other. HANDS DOWN THE BEST DOG GROOMER IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA!!!! I've been taking my fur children, Coco-female chi and Bambino-male chi, to Ivan Lugo (owner of Lugari) for the past 7 years. Even when I moved over 45 minutes away from his salon, I still went to him because he is SO AMAZING with my babies! Not only does he provide extra services like hair dyeing and nail painting (he makes my all white Coco look like a little pink fox with sparkly pink nails ) he's very attentive to thier needs and ensures they're well looked after while in his care. I've NEVER had issues with him or his salon like I've read in other groomer reviews on Yelp (some of which absolutley horrified me). You can see in the pictures I provide, Coco is literally grinning ear to ear after her visits cuz she LOVES Ivan and Lugari and they take such good care of her! They really CARE about their clients (and their parents :) and it shows in the abject joy on my babies faces after visits. I'd give 1,000,000 stars if I could!! I'm so thankful to have a friend who introduced me to Lugari Pet Salon! I recently rescued a doodle that had severe thick matting. I had reached out to many groomers and no one could get him in for at least 1.5-2 weeks. I'm giving it 2 stars because my puppy did get clean, and he was very well taken care of. However, I specifically said how I did not want ANY length taken off of my golden-doodle. My puppies hair was on the longer side but I liked it that way. When I picked my puppy up, I didn't even recognize him and was almost convinced I was given a different dog.
