    Jerk Shrimp Bowl
    John P.

We wanted to try something quick and Caribbean. This place fit the description. We ordered through Uber Eats and the order came pretty late (an hour+) even though I requested priority which should've came in 20-30mins. I ordered the Jerk Shrimp Bowl with Scotty Rice, pineapple and corn mix, and coleslaw. It came with a lot of protein and the box was stuffed! I really liked the jerk sauce because it wasn't salty or overbearing. The pineapple and corn mix was good mixed in with my rice. It was more than enough food for one person.

This is like a fast food restaurant but Caribbean style! It was Friday after 1pm and it was still so busy, I waited awhile before I got served. But once she got to me, I was served right away. It's mostly take out here. The food is already made and she just scooped the rice and as the fixings and done! I ordered the bowl rice and jerk chicken. Fixings were coleslaw, tomatoes salad, corn, channa & potatoes. Lots of meat. Enough for 2 meals! With taxes $15.20! That's how much it cost for 1 meal these days if you're lucky! So if your in the annex go and it looked like they had delivery too.

Saw this pop up on ubereats and just had to give it a try. Went with jerk chicken plate, jerk chicken sandwich and bbq chicken sandwich. Well cooked and well seasoned chicken. Definitely will be back.

Ordered on uber eats. Food was okay. Scotty rice was a bit bland. Rice and peas were nice . BBQ chicken was well spiced Jerk wings were good too. The sauces were nice too! Wasn't a fan of the pineapple corn mix. They forgot to pack one of my drinks and asked me to place another order to come along with it or contact uber. Ended up getting a refund for the drink from uber.

Chicken roti (I asked for the chicken separate)

Covid delivery review! I got curry chicken roti, coleslaw on the side and a beef patty. I asked for the curry chicken separate and they followed my instructions exactly. The roti was a dhalpurie and was filled with potato and chickpeas. I also got the Scotty sauce which added extra flavour! Very delicious and filling roti. Tasted like it was from Trinidad. The curry chicken wasn't anything spectacular but was still good. The beef patty surpassed my expectations. It was very delicious one of the best I've had. The best part was the patty itself had a great texture, not flaky which I liked. I'd recommend the potato roti and beef pie if you are reading this!

Really good Jerk chicken sandwich for $7. The hot sauce is hot (imagine that...) and great flavour. Good location near Spadina, will return! I'd like to try the curry.

The Caribbean version of chipotle. I was scared of the spicy level, but the jerk shrimp was more mild than the jerk chicken. Heard great things about this place and glad it opened downtown.

I have been waiting to try this popular spot for awhile now. The staff is very friendly at this location and answered any questions I had. It was a nice warm welcome. The menu is vast and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I ended up going for the two sandwich combo so I could try different things. I decided on the Jerk Sandwich and the Cajun Fish Sandwich. Both sandwiches came on coco bread which was perfect in size. You get a whole lot of toppings to choose from for your sandwiches. I chose cheese, coleslaw, tomatoes and a corn salsa which had some pineapple, it was awesome! Some of the other toppings were cilantro and jalapeño peppers. There are three sauces to choose from as well. There was a lime cream sauce which I chose for the fish and and BBQ sauce which I chose for my jerk sandwich. They also have a hot sauce if you need some extra kick. The fish was fresh battered and fried while you wait. This personally for me is the only way to serve fish. You can't beat the freshness when the fish is fried to order. The fish was tender and flaky. The batter was nice and crispy. It paired well with the lime sauce. The jerk chicken was boneless and it was fall apart tender! The spice level was just right. It had some kick but it was not overwhelming. It was just spicy enough that you just wanted to keep eating! The coleslaw on the sandwich helped cool the spicy level to just right. The coco bread on both sandwiches was the perfect vessel. The bun was soft and they press it on the grill before serving which adds just a little crispness to the sandwich which is an awesome touch. If I had to choose which sandwich I liked better I would say the fish was excellent but hands down goes to the jerk chicken. (I still have to try jerk shrimp so this rating may change) I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. I have my eye on the roti next!

Ordered the jerk chicken bowl. It was alright, not the best jerk chicken I've had. They did add a good amount of meat however the seasoning was okay and the ingredients altogether made it all taste soggy. The coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. However it's a good portion for the price. Not a lot of tables to sit in, definitely a more take out spot. Service was nice-they explain everything to you if you need help with the ingredients.

This is their second location, in a build with 3 other food vendors. It is mostly a takeout restaurant. There is a small counter where you could stand and eat. There are six set combinations. Or you can build your own pasta (BYOP) combo. On the soft-opening day (2025-01-20), they were offering an opening special of Mac N Cheese with BBQ Chicken sample and a drink for only $6.99. I ordered the following: 1. BYOP: Garlic Shrimp, penne, rose sauce, broccoli, black olives, mushrooms. It automatically comes with sliced green peppers and chopped parsley. 2. Opening Special ($6.99) x 2. For the BYOP, they didn't warn me it was medium spicy. I can handle it with a cold drink! The shrimp and penne were perfectly cooked. I loved the rose sauce. My choices of broccoli,  black olives, and mushrooms worked well together and with the base. The Opening Special was delicious; the Mac n Cheese part and BBQ Chicken were really good! Unfortunately, the BBQ was mildly spicy, and my son didn't like it; more for me! The customer service was good. It took them a long time to prepare the food (there were many orders prior to mine). But it was opening day, so hopefully, they will speed up their cooking. There is no free WiFi. The food stall is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-014

Similarly while I would not consider this quite a fusion restaurant, the food was indeed delicious! Most of the rice sides, had furikake sprinkled on top which always enhances the flavor. The sushi selection was good! The top items for me were the cod and lobster/shrimp udon. Again neither were quite executed as fusion (IMO) but nonetheless it was delicious! The steak was also good, but steak is more readily available on most menus elsewhere. The potato and egg salad as an app also made the top list. It was super creamy and paired nicely with the crunchy chips! The endless drink menu/option is also excellent, except I am not sure how much alcohol was actually in there because within the group of 13 people, most of us did not feel even slightly tipsy. The ambiance is beautiful and really embraces a jungle with vibrant colors intertwined into the interior. the bathroom however, is a different story as it is at the end of a very dark hallway. Not sure if they turn the lights on at night, but for someone with poor vision, it was hard to see as the light reflected off the walls. The servers were friendly and with a large group like ours, we did have some dishes that just never made it out so we did need to flag someone down for them about an hour or so in.
