    Scotty's Big Nasty Sidewinder fries
    Janis B.

Update: I forgot I ever ordered the fry "mess" dish! Ever since then I've ordered the Sunday specials. My favorite is the meatloaf but Scott doesn't always make it. It is the ABSOLUTELY BEST meatloaf I've ever had. I can't reproduce it much to my dismay. So yesterday no meatloaf so I decided to try the Scotty's Big Nasty Sidewinder dish, very similar to that dish I originally wrote about. This time the fries are spiral cut and fried to perfection. It's enough for 4 people!! Here's a photo if you don't believe me! This place has been in business about 2 1/2 months and where we live there's not a lot of choice so it's exciting to try a new place. The decor is country/western as expected in this area but tastefully done. A speciality is Jim's fries, a mess of handcut fries, grilled onions, grilled jalapeños and melted cheese served with a side of ranch dressing. They were delicious. The only issue was in my opinion the fries were a little greasy but it didn't impact the experience. I just ate the top half with the cheese. By then I was full and I figured that was enough calories. My husband had a grilled chicken breast, salad and sides. He said the chicken breast was moist and flavorful. Today: 1

Just another visit to Scotty Bs where we always leave full and happy! The dining room is clean, open well decorated. Service is always spectacular and today we had southwestern egg rolls, calf fries, fried pickles, wing basket and shrimp basket! All delicious!

Smaller, cozy, home style environment. The food quality is really good. They have the best fried pickles I have had yet! I wasn't impressed with the fried mushrooms. The fried pickles made up for that ! I also had the cheeseburger soup. It was unusually good, thick, and hardy! The one thing (besides the fried pickles) that will bring me back is the lemon cake! That cake tasted like it came off the show "Cake Wars," It was so amazing! Pricing wise, it's minimal to moderate $ to $$. The price is congruent to serving size and deliciousness.

The mushroom gravy had good flavor and texture. The chicken salad had a good variety of greens, not just one type of lettuce. A good portion of shredded chicken on top. This was a very large salad. There was enough for two people to share. Portion could have been better. Service was great. Attentive without being pushy. A fun place to eat. Lots of memorabilia from the movie Cars, which took inspiration from this restaurant. Definitely big on Route 66, too, as evidenced by the adjacent gift shop.

The Chili Cheese Dog with fresh, raw onions (as foretold by the cheesy appetizer) was dense and flavorful, maybe the best no-frills chili dog in Oklahoma. My picky 13yo ate his first First Fried Apple pie with a slice of vanilla. His eyes got really big, and the plate was clean in an instant. The big treat, though, is the full-quarter slice of Poor Man"s "Pecan" Pie made with oats, not pecans. Served hot with a perfect slice of vanilla ice cream (yes, it's a tray-cut square) with a perfect crust -- This may be my favorite dessert ever, in the whole wide world. Of course the whole wide world needs more innovative classic food stops like this on Route 66. Also, ask to see their fire-surviving copy of Eternal Route 66 by Chuck Williams, an ironic souvenir from a prior iteration of The *eternal* Rock Cafe. If you're a fan of Sally the blue Porsche from the Disney Pixar movie Cars, ask to meet the owner, Dawn. She *might* tell you her story that inspired the sweetheart sports car, and John Lasseter, Pixar's chief creative officer is happy to confirm when visiting with memorabilia gifts that decorate the cafe. Service was spot on throughout the entire night. We started with the deviled eggs, half plain and half Chef's Choice. The Chef's Choice were the best, drizzled with chili crisp (or pickled Szechuan peppercorns) and topped with a tiny gherkin and fresh dill. The soup of the day was a cabbage and radish soup. It was interesting and very homey but I wish I had ordered the salad. I had the Novarro Farm sweet Potato Gnocchi (kale and pecan pesto, Birch Bottom Farm Georgia candy roaster, fresh chevre). I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. Oh, and the apple pie was excellent as well!
