Scotty's Body Shop, on University Avenue, did a fantastic job repairing the front end ($3,900 repair) on my 2014 Camry after someone ran into it when making a left turn. They also washed and cleaned the car inside and out (not easy task after hauling around a Golden Retriever all summer!), so by the time all was completed it looked like a brand new car. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this shop has been so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. I brought my car here after a small accident expecting professional service, but what I got instead was a chain of mistakes, poor communication, and outright refusal to take accountability. When I originally picked up my car, there was a clear error message, "Charge Port Components Missing." I returned the vehicle within 30 minutes, but rather than fixing the issue promptly, they let it sit untouched over the weekend while the battery slowly died. This kind of neglect is unacceptable especially for an EV where battery health is extremely important. After they finally delt with the charge port, new problems started to occur that were never present before. Most importantly, serious issues with my dash screen that had worked perfectly fine for about a month after the accident. Despite this, the shop continues to insist these problems are due to the car being "old" and is now refusing to fix them. They even tried to shift blame to the insurance company instead of owning up to the fact that this happened after their service. I've tried to be patient and understanding, but I've now run out of options. I'm left with a vehicle in worse condition than when I brought it in, and no one is taking responsibility. I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this shop with your car. Especially if you own a Tesla or EV. read more

I had a rear door damaged that extended to the front door, cab corner & pickup bed. Scotty's was highly recommended, so I stopped in to the University shop. The staff is very friendly, and respectful through the entire process. Excellent work, great customer service!! Definitely recommend! They fixed a few dents I had from getting hit when my car was parked. They took care of all of the insurance info, made it very easy, I had to do very little. There was a small deficit and they called the insurance guy directly and took care of it. I didn't pay a dime. I just can't say enough with how happy I am with Scotty's. My car (parked) was hit by a semi and their self insured adjusters were horrible to deal with. Kim is a saint for having to talk to them. The wait was longer than expected ONLY because of waiting on the part from manufacturer and Kim kept me updated which I am so grateful for! It was so worth the wait (and again - that was NOT their fault lol) I picked up my vehicle and it was beauitful - detailed, and they fixed my back up light for me as well!!! I can't say enough good things about Curtis at Scotty's Body Shop on Linden St. He did more than just fix my truck. Curtis saved me when I was out of luck, out of truck, and out of options after GEICO valued my ride at half what it was worth. That's what you'll get at Scotty's. A lot of body shops can get your vehicle looking right. But what sets this family-owned local body shop apart is that they have YOUR best interests in mind. NOT the insurance company's. And NOT just what they can put in their pockets. Last year, I spun out and hit a median on the interstate driving home from Chicago to Denver. I was broke and stranded. I didn't know a soul for 300 miles or the first thing about cars or insurance. I walked into Scotty's thinking my 20+ year old Chevy truck in perfect shape with less than 100k miles was a goner. GEICO valued it at only $1,800 because their valuation is based off of similar makes and models listed for sale in the area - all of which happened to be rusted-out 250k mile junkers on Craigslist. Curtis told GEICO their valuation was BS and wrote me out a plan to get every cent I was owed. Then he stretched EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR of that money calling through 4 states for the best prices on parts to get my truck back on the road. I love this truck and I'm only driving it today because of Curtis and his crew at Scotty's. Their work was top-notch. I don't know what I would have done without them. read more

The staff at Scotty's are very professional in dealing with customers and explained everything in the estimate and repair process clearly. My insurance adjuster said that the repair would take at least two weeks. Scotty's had it done in one week and it looks better than new. Paint matches perfectly. You could never tell anything had happened to the car.
