I've been a life long customer at Hickman Auto. The new owner has ripped me off twice since he took over about a year ago. Most recently he repaired a leaking power steering line, which turned in to a $700 fix. The day after I got my car back the new belt that I 'needed' was squealing. I took it back, he said that the head gaskets were blown and the engine is squirting oil all over the engine compartment. I knew right away that he was making this up. My engine hasn't ever lost oil, so how could it be squirting all over - causing a new belt to squeal? Took the car to an other shop and the identified that the wrong belt was installed. I had it fixed at the other shop and there's been no other issues. When I took the wrong belt back to Hickman Auto he blamed the parts place - 'it must have been a old belt that had been sitting in the warehouse because he only buys the best parts and no one else would buy such a high quality belt'. In the end Hickman Auto paid me back for the repair at the other shop. But the inconvenience of not having my car for two weeks as after I paid for the initial repairs, as well as being told my car needs new head gaskets at a price tag of $600+ is enough for me to never return to Hickman Auto. read more

My passenger side windshield wiper stopped working after that big ice storm we got maybe two years ago now and I have been working with one ever since. It was removed with the intention with being replaced and I was told at an auto parts store that I would need to buy a whole new wiper arm. Unfortunately no place carries them in town (for my specific model). A friend recommended Hickman Auto Parts and Im very grateful they did! After taking a look at my car and the disassembled parts they agreed that the arm needed to be replaced. They called around to several places and found that the only thing I could do was order the part and that it would be kind of pricey. Instead he put the wiper back on, replaced a small part and got it working for me! It is a temporary fix, but it has been working fine ever since! They only charged the shop minimum as well since he was only able to put it back on and replace a small screw. I would definitely go back to Hickman Auto for any other repair needs. Just called to get Estimate on transmission rebuilt in my 2003 Ford Ranger and was told nope not doing it Poor business

After nearly 20 years I am still a repeat customer. This is the kind of small, locally owned shop you completely trust to tell you what you need now, and also what you might put off for another 3 or 6 or 12 mo. They're the next best thing to having a buddy who'll work on your vehicle for a few beers and a steak off the grill as labor cost. They are not open weekends. I tend to drop off Sunday night and place the keys into their key drop so it is ready first thing for work first thing in the AM. They refer elsewhere for heavy transmission work or big body work. It is a small garage and crew that have always gotten me in within the time I needed and also in "emergency" times right away. read more

WARNING" HICKMAN AUTO has changed owners (& mechanic(s) They are currently STILL basking in the service of the PREVIOUS Owners. I was 24 yr customer, but after giving the "NEW OWNER" a $250 job, I turned around 3 weeks later & needed a $500 job, during the Covid19 outbreak. Told I needed to pay $100 EXTRA for back & forth service (I am Extreme High Risk), finally agreed to transport for $50. SURPRISE! Payment receipt SHOWED I was charged $100. i DIDNT LOOK AT RECEIPT FOR WEEKS because I had (previously) had such "trust" for Hickman Auto. Former owners (married couple) did reception & work so their overhead was less AND WE CUSTOMERS PAID LESS. read more
