Turns out, she was sold the wrong size battery (Thanks, Jenny!!). Jenny was unhelpful and rude stating that it was too cold for them to install the battery. Yes, it was a very cold day (hence needing a new battery) but OReilly advertises free battery installation. Our family uses them for this very reason and have always had a quick, positive experience. Ted is the best thing about this experience today!! He deserves a promotion, bonus and more. What a kind and genuine employee. Thank you Ted for helping today and making things right! One for Jenny. On my recent visit, I went here because I needed a new battery. To be more specific, I just got a jump from my in-laws and was driving on a dead battery. Needless to say, I was planning to change the battery in the parking lot. The sales associate was very helpful finding which battery I wanted to buy. There are many different brands that are rated with different cold cranking amps (CCA). In case you didn't know, as the weather gets colder, it is harder for a battery to function. For example, you've probably noticed that when it's really cold, your car takes a few seconds longer to start or may not start at all! Having a battery with a higher CCA rating such as 800 CCA ensures that the battery will function when it's like ten below zero. The standard rating is 600 CCA. Given our frigid winters here in Iowa, I prefer to buy a battery with at least 800 CCA. After I chose my battery, which was around $120 that included a six year warranty, the sales associate offered to install it for me! This is a great service for individuals who are not familiar with cars. Also, the batteries themselves weight about 40 pounds so having someone lift and install them is very helpful. He grabbed the new battery and put it on a cart with all of the required tools. He wheeled the cart outside, and he changed the battery. He also recommended buying some battery terminal rings, which are green and red cloth discs that go around the terminals. These rings and the associated liquid coating that is applied to the terminals are designed to help reduce discharge. I have used them in the past and decided to use them again. Besides, they are only a couple of bucks! Lastly, the sales associate took my old battery, which will be properly disposed/recycled. Advance Auto also has some great sales every now and then. You don't need the coupons as they have them posted outside the building or along the counter. Lastly, if you are doing any of your own car work in their parking lot, the sales associates are really cool about letting you use their restroom to wash up afterwards. Also, their restroom has that orange, mechanic's soap that gets all of the oil and crud off of your hands! Overall, a great place to buy all of your car parts and accessories!

I spoke with a guy on the phone who gave me the best price estimate that I could find in Des Moines, and he told me that I could just mail them the title later, as I didn't have it with me and then they would just mail me the check. Most junk yards I spoke with had a problem with me not having the title. I did all of that and low and behold they followed through, was very painless and I'm thankful for all of their help. Paperwork was generically put in telling to change spring and plugger, which was there. Some Num nuts put 4 nuts, not locking on the studs which would cause the holder out, off the firewall. Really, really disappointed! Plus, I don't like the fact that you have to hold tongue out of the side of your mouth, close one eye to mount the damn things. The same guy was always behind the convenience store counter and we would go in so often that he would remember us and what we wanted (not sure if he's still there, also not sure what his name was). Always super friendly. TODAY however, we had to go in for the dreaded car repair. My husband had a mishap with the curb (of all things) and essentially knocked his right front tire completely out of alignment and nearly snapped the control bar, requiring a replacement of said parts along with a tire alignment. This all happened fairly close to the body shop so it was the closest place to get to without further driving/ruining his car. They got us in and out in just under two hours and the car drives like new again. Sh*t happens and it's awesome to have a place like this that actually cares about you, your well-being and the well-being of your vehicle. The mechanics explained everything very thoroughly [though we're both still car-mechanics-illiterate :) ] and made sure we knew what the problem was, what needed to be done to fix it and what the costs were going to be. They even had to order a part and they were still done in 2 hours! For what started out as a fairly terrible experience these guys made it as painless as dropping money on your self-inflicted car wounds can be. THANK YOU! Will return.

First LIE; Shawn, Bill & Shawn Jr ALL proudly shared with me the new 30K Engine Analyzer they had & would be using to diagnose the reason for the SERVICE ENGINE SOON warning dash light coming on. Second LIE; Yes THAT SERVICE ENGINE SOON is the correct light that was on & the reason I brought my mother's car in. Shawn was aware THAT was the warning dash light that was lit & he even reset it following their unneeded service. Not a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Third Lie; I DID NOT MOVE ANY BARREL blocking your carwash entrance & for you to accuse me of doing that is beyond ridiculous. If Shawn is such an honest guy, as you initially touted to me, he would have told you HE MOVED THAT BARREL & then told me to drive in & he'd start the carwash. It never started, not one drop of water was ever released. Shawn even apologized to me saying he was sorry he didn't realize it was not working. I was even told to come back in the Springtime for a free wash. I hope my reviews give future potential customers pause before taking their vehicle to your service center. Again with the false accusations. Any still pictures you claim to have of "a woman moving your barrel" is not me.
