I went in on a Thursday night a few weeks ago around into Scout for the first time. I had previously been to the rooftop bar at The Statler. I always Uber/ Lyft there as the wait for vallet on the way out is always long. Scout was not very busy and we were promtpy sat. However, it took a long time for our waitress to come over and greet us. From that point on the service was slow. We had drinks and ordered some food. The got the Scout Burger which was very average. My request for a side of mayo was not brought out with my oder, I had to remind the wait staff. In the end we waited a long time for our check which we got after we finaly flagged down our waitress. The one bonus was that it was Ladies night and our first drinks were discounted. I may go back for a drink, but will not be returning there to eat at night. read more

Stopped in here for a bite before a concert at the Majestic Theater. Sat down at the bar and ordered a patty melt and their blue cheese and pecan slaw. The patty melt took 40 minutes and it took until the end of that 40 minutes for them to tell me that they were out if slaw, at which time they decided to substitute fries, which took another few minutes. Went here with some colleagues for a happy hour conversation. Nice ambiance despite being a bit noisy but that was to be expected. But importantly, they had great snack plates! I had the ribs and beans plate. The ribs were tender and juicy...and that sauce!!!! The beans where ok but that sauce on those bones!!! I dined here last night. This place is amazing. It was loud and hard to talk but the food was really worth the volume level. There were several parties happening because of the holidays so I did wait for a bit for my burger but a man who I can only assume was the manager came and apologized for the long time. Also they have bowling here which i did not do but i watched several kids attempt it. Good times. read more

I'm giving four stars for the food and concept, which were worth the trip. The customer experience was overbearing- I felt like we were occupying a table they desperately needed. The place was nearly empty at 6pm on a Saturday. We were dining early before theatre tickets and chose Scout as it was easy walking distance to The Majestic. Made reservations even though it's a sports bar! The reservation system sent no less than six annoying reminders AFTER the prerequisite confirmation text. The waiter mirrored that peskiness by repeatedly asking for our orders in two minute intervals when we clearly wanted to order drinks, order appetizers, then look at the menu before ordering dinner. Aside from insensitive timing, service was very good. Be aware that the bar is loud. The sports game is at high volume. Conversation was difficult. Worth a visit. It would probably be a fun place to catch a game with friends, but I think the target demographic is 20-something's instead of people with disposable income. Weird. read more

On 12/14/19 my friends and I were at Scout, inside the Statler Hotel tonight as paying patrons. We were minding our business. My fiancé and I were eating and watching some friends play pool. Security and a manager approached us telling us one of the bartenders pointed my fiancé out for throwing up and asked for us to leave. There was no sign of vomit on the floor or on him. He was by my side the ENTIRE TIME, so I knew it was straight bs! I'm so disgusted and mad as hell of continuously been targeted because of the color of our skin. Came here with a group to bowl on Saturday, 9/4/2021. My friend paid for bowling at the bar right next to the bowling alley as soon as they told us the lane was open. I went to the larger bar to buy a round of beers and the bartender asked if I was bowling. I thought she asked so she could bring our drinks over or start a tab so I confirm I'm sitting at the bowling alley. She brings me two receipts to sign one at a time. One was for bowling and the other the drinks but I had no idea. No itemized receipts were provided. Mind you, I had a couple of drinks before we got there so I signed both without really asking any questions. My boyfriend caught it right away and reminded me our friend had already paid for bowling. He walked back to the bar and initiated a refund. It was his turn to bowl so we switched places and I went to the bar. The bartender just ignored me and motioned that I should go back to my seat and said it was taken care of. No refund receipt was provided. The next day the charge clears and I try calling them 4x but the number is forwarded to a cell phone with no voicemail option. I initiated a credit card dispute so hopefully that will resolve this whole debacle. The dollars that were double charged are not a huge amount of money but the fact that this place was so disorganized and would not process a refund is frustrating, not to mention no one answers their phone. I ordered the shrimp po-boy, and it came with a side of fries. The atmosphere was great , and the waiter was attentive with our large party. The parking was $5 before 10p and you must get it validated by the host at the front. After 9pm the restaurant turned into a night club which was pretty cool. There is a live dj and the music was decent. I would definitely come back it's a great location for a date night or casual meet up. I recommend! read more

This place had awesome servers, great food and an overall decent atmosphere. The bowling lane was closed due to COVID-19 but everything else was still available (ping pong table, pool table and fuse ball). Allen was our server the second night and we had a party of 10 and he was great he was so attentive and had everything right. He started calling us by our name by the end of the meal and cutting up with us and overall was an awesome guy. This place was located in the same building as the Statler Hotel in Dallas. It's not your average hotel bar. It has pool tables, foosball tables, ping pong tables and a 3 lane bowling alley. We waited about 20 minutes for our appetizer chicken quesadillas. Totally worth the wait. Probably the best quesadillas I've eaten. The salsa was muy caliente! Guacamole was on point! I ordered the turkey burger and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crisped. Much better than my turkey burger which needed to be seasoned. One of the best happy hours downtown! From 4-6pm, all food and drinks are 1/2 off. The menu has plenty of choices, with the most expensive thing being $10 (steak frites) after the 1/2 off. Of course that's exactly what I ordered! How can I pass up a $10 steak?! The table ordered an app and drinks, and shortly after our food came. Went with a large group, a volleyball team and parents, about 30 of us all together. The best thing about the whole night was our server Thomas! Normally it's difficult with such a large group - people were moving around playing pool, ping pong, dancing & bowling, and on top of that separate checks. But Thomas handled it like a champion, knowing exactly who ordered what & delivered it to the correct person.- I honestly don't know how he did it with such ease. AND every bill was correct. I've never experienced a waiter in a situation like that who handled it like Thomas. It was fun for the boys and parents to play all the games etc.. and burger was great. Speechless!! Superb service!!! We made a reservation for 18 and ended up having 25, they accommodated without any hesitation! From beginning to end we had spectacular service from our waiter! He continuously checked up on us and made sure we were well taken care of! The food came out fast and we always had drinks. He was also very accommodating to ensure anyone celebrating a birthday was acknowledged. His mixing skills played a primary roll in the phenomenal experience. This place just isn't worth it at all. You pay $25 per person for their cold buffet. The only thing that was actually warm was their meat which still wasn't that good. They just charge so much for food that isn't good at all. Honestly you'd get a better deal at Golden Corral which is saying something cause they aren't all that great either. They make you pay $10 an hour just to play pool or ping pong which is misleading because they make it seem like you can just walk up and play, and then after you e played they'll tell you that they're charging an extra $10. This place has all the atmosphere of a trendy casual spot you can bring friends to. The drinks are delicious and the games are really fun. So why the two stars, the food. I can't tell you how disappointed I was to spend $75 on a spread of fajitas where the chicken was dry, the tortillas weren't homemade, the rice was crunchy and it barley fed three versus the four to six it said on the menu. Spent the same on a bucket of fried chicken that was dark and burned in places with no seasoning. The mashed potatoes and gravy had zero flavor and were way too smooth to be real or made properly. The only salt or flavor to be found was in the wound that we were left with when no one wanted to acknowledge or offer to do anything about the mishaps with the food. I mean really....? Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago for the unlimited brunch and it was great! I loved it so much. This was the 1st all-you-can-eat brunch place I've been to in Dallas and it'll be hard to top. The food was fresh and some were even cooked directly in front of you.
