I travel a lot and it's hard to find a modern hotel (especially in the US) that doesn't feel worn down, but the absolute best part was that every single staff member made us feel genuinely valued--starting right at check-in when they offered us a beverage (and even a bellman, though we didn't need one). Parking is a bit tricky, as the GPS took us to the backside, but it's valet only and uses a digital system when you call for your car--again, very convenient! The only downfall was that we had the 'Do Not Disturb' button on--a very modern system, I might add--since we had a late 4:00 PM checkout. Despite this, housekeeping knocked on the door at 1:00 PM. I couldn't get back to sleep, so we just checked out. They definitely disturbed me! The pool was closed due to weather when we stayed, but next time I hope we get to experience that as well. Staff was all helpful, including getting the door when they were around the entrance, even though we weren't using the valet. With a certain international soccer tournament going on, they set up an extra projector in the lobby area. The pool was medium sized, and no hot tub, but having an outdoor pool area at all at a downtown hotel is uncommon.

As a Forth Club member, I expect professionalism, hospitality, and basic human decency from the staff and management. Unfortunately, what I saw made me seriously reconsider my membership. A African American female guest was waiting for her friends who had invited her. Her friends were delayed in traffic, and from what I observed, her room and information had already been verified. She had already been there for nearly two hours without issue. Instead of handling the situation with patience or professionalism, Brian was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and disrespectful toward her. What made it even worse was hearing Brian say, "I am trying to be nice." Respectfully, that is quite literally the job. Hospitality is not a favor it is the standard. Then he told her, "You're arguing with me," when from what I witnessed, she was simply trying to understand what was happening and why she was being treated that way. We chatted earlier and she was the nicest human. As a white woman watching this interaction, it was incredibly uncomfortable and honestly disgusting to witness. The way she was spoken to and treated felt completely inappropriate, especially for a hotel and club that markets itself as elevated, inclusive, and hospitality-focused. There was no need for the tone, the attitude, or the level of disrespect shown. A simple guest situation could have been handled with grace and professionalism. Instead, it left a very bad impression... not only of Brian, the new management hospitality group, but of the culture being ALLOWED at The Forth Hotel. This experience has genuinely made me rethink renewing my membership and whether I want to continue supporting Forth Club. Beyond that, access around the property felt restricted, and at one point we were even yelled at while trying to exit the building for walking near vehicles being used for filming. We were told that booking directly through the hotel might have resulted in a notification about the filming, but we booked through a third party and received no such information. Regardless of booking method, this feels like something that should be clearly communicated to all guests in advance. The room itself also fell short of expectations. The in-room phone was not working, and a light fixture was hanging loosely by its cord and electrical tape, which raised safety concerns. Overall, while the staff did their best, the lack of communication and the condition of the room made this a frustrating stay. I would recommend confirming hotel conditions before booking, especially if amenities are a deciding factor.

I mean, we had no complaints at all. It felt like home away from home, which was what we were looking for. We probably slept on the couch more times than not. The kitchen was the perfect addition; we didn't have to leave if we didn't want to. We did go downstairs to have drinks, but they didn't meet our standards. They were very basic. If you're looking for something a little stronger or a wide variety, there are tons of local establishments nearby. This hotel is located in a great area. This location is pretty much within walking distance of restaurants, attractions, and entertainment. You could take an Uber, but everything is a quick little walk. This is a perfect location, and if you're not looking for it, you will overlook it. You would think it was an apartment complex, and I love that it was so low-key because prior to staying here, I never knew this was here. 10 out of 10. Recommend it is family-friendly. Of course they have a cat that greets you when you walk in too; which adds to the whole charm of The Highland Inn. The rooms are clean, but dated; and the beds are not great, but comfortable to sleep on. And you can't beat the price of this hotel; it's at least 50% cheaper than the other area hotel. The staff was all new, and if we had a complaint on Friday, you were going to have to wait until Monday for the manager. Terrible!!

But, the bedding is comfortable, with cool AC, desks, working fridge/freezer, microwave, internet, etc. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and all amenities in our rooms worked. Cannot say the same for our stay at the Buckhead LaQuinta who had broken phones and internet. Not a large variety for breakfast but good quality brands of cereal, milk, pastries, yogurt, etc. The coffee is Starbucks and they keep it going hot until 10 pm! I will stay here if my Dad needs to return.
