We love that this place is so close to us and it's super convenient to grab a good bite to eat. I haven't had a bad choice yet and I've tried several meals. Their fish and chips is pretty good considering we're no where near the ocean. We love their appetizers too and it has a great feel to it. Not too loud but always cozy. Came across this place quite by accident and was pleasantly surprised by what turned out to be a very delicious and enjoyable lunch experience. Staff were cordial and welcoming. As a "stranger in town" I felt immediately welcome and comfortable as I took my seat at the bar. An extensive menu of mouthwatering dishes made choosing just one of the options a challenging task but I was finally able to settle on the Brussels Sprouts appetizer followed by the Thai Chicken Curry. Both were delightful and satisfyingly plentiful and a great compliment to the TN Lager I'd selected from the extensive range of beers on tap. It is impossible to please every body all the time, but at Scouts they are very adaptable and seem to want all to leave with having a great experience and delicious food. 5 Stars for the "Oh My GOODness" over-the-top yummy Crispy Fried Brussel Sprouts 5 Stars for the Iced Tea--that's important to us non-soda drinkers! 4.5 Stars for the Caprese Focaccia Sandwich which I added chicken and arugula too---however, the extra pesto and extra reduced-balsamic that our waiter was happy to bring us, made this sandwich a 5 Star dish in our books. 5 Stars for the Watermelon Salad, which is now my vegetarian friend's new favorite and I very much enjoyed it, as well. 5 Stars for the creative "chips", guac, pineapple salsa, and fire roasted tomatillo picante. (I had wished my son had not ordered "boring" chips and guacamole. I wanted to try the hummus and pita. I was surprised when it arrived. Scouts does not serve the same OLD boring tortilla chips that you may get at every other restaurant. 5 Stars for taking an old favorite and placing a delightful twist on it. The ambiance and the food at this new place is extremely good. The Caprese sandwiches are great. The toasted bread sandwich does not get soggy and tastes great. The omnivore pizza is great. The selection of local beers is pretty good with Turtle anarchy features. The portion sizes are a bit on the bigger side but then you might easily finish it with the quality of food. The cool outdoor patio with gas lighting is a nice spot to enjoy good weather. read more

This is a great spot for the neighborhood, especially if you want to get out of the house but yet go out some place. We came at a good time where a spot was available - but it could have been that reservations were made as it was a place where friends asked us to meet. We started out with the Brussels sprouts and I had a burger in a wrap which was really tasty and flavorful. Sometimes I feel like there's so much bread so this made for a really nice change. We ended the meal with a key lime pie that was pretty good as well. I somehow got an extra order of Pinot Grigio so I can't complain about that, so the service was great. I've had brunch and dinner here. Both were great experiences. For brunch I had the fried egg Sammy with sweet potatoes and a mimosa. I can't recall what my husband ordered but both meals were delicious. First visit and I'm not sure there'll be a second. Went with a group of friends, on a Wednesday evening. Our server informed us that they'd run out of a few things. Unfortunately they were pretty much what we wanted. No Bud light? C'mon. No house white wine? And no offer to get the pricier one at the house price? Ouch. They were also out of brisket, so no brisket tacos for you! The drinks were good - other than the one that had to be remade and one that came without the correct ingredients. The few items our table did order were tasty- the sweet potato fries were hot and delicious, the succotash flatbread a surprising delight. Haven't been in over 6 months but I live in the neighborhood and decided to give it another try. I wanted to like this place. I love the decor, love the couches on the porch for waiting, love the large patio and the fact that it's dog friendly. I love the wallpaper on one wall for the banquette tables, and most of the menu looks interesting. The problem is, that's not enough. We arrived at 4 PM on a Saturday, and there were about a half dozen staff about and four customers at two different tables. The hostess greeted us promptly enough, but she first tried to seat us at a table right at the front door, then the table adjacent to that in the middle of the room. Did you recall I mentioned there were only two occupied tables in the place at the time? When I asked for a banquette table (only one was occupied), she asked if we could wait while they cleaned off one towards the back that was a 4 top. That was fine, we didn't ask for a 4 top but it was preferred... and that table along with the other two 4 tops that were not in the front door were dirty. At least we noticed fairly soon after that the clan of servers cleaned off the other dirty tables, I guess preparing for dinner crowds, just makes you wonder why they waited. So we're seated after some cleaning, and immediately upon sitting down the quietest server I've ever had approaches and asks what we'd like to drink. The drink menu is a full page small type, so I just ordered a water while I pondered. Thought about noting this place is only 4 months old... are you that used to regulars? He came back three different times as we were talking and hubby had to take a phone call... I'm not 100% sure what he said each time because again... quietest server ever. Our receipt says his name is Oscar. Opted for an autumn sangria ($12) as did hubby and we ordered some Pub Rolls ($9) as a starter. The sangria was OK, but not very fruity and not overly special - esp not for $12 each. The app was quite good, think Mexican inspired egg rolls. About the time our appetizer arrived, a huge storm that had been brewing washed over the restaurant and completely obscured the windows... I'm so glad we had rejected that front door table. For dinner, I had the Harvest Pig sandwich ($16) with sweet potato fries and hubby had Fish & Chips ($16). My sandwich had way too much bread for the meat portion, and the other accompaniments mentioned were barely evident. The fries were OK... but a bit chunky and limp for my taste. Hubby said the fish was good, but their tartar sauce and randomly ranch sauce both are strong on dill.... which he dislikes and does seem odd in tartar sauce. Portion sizes were generous, neither of us finished our meals but we did order the BACC to go because of some yelp mentions and the fact that I love peanut butter. Really love peanut butter. I asked our super quiet server was BACC stood for, and he sheepishly wouldn't say the words "Big Ass" that precede "Chocolate Cake" for this dessert offering. The cake was the biggest disappointment, and at $12, especially disappointing. Maybe I read the menu wrong, but I thought the cake was chocolate cake filled with peanut butter and iced with peanut butter icing. Sounded fabulous - but not what I got. It was definitely chocolate, and if it's possible it was super rich but not super good. I wouldn't have thought that was possible prior to trying the BACC. There was no hint of peanut butter anywhere, and the chocolate cake seemed blah, and the chocolate icing was joined by chocolate syrup and chocolate chips on the outside, joined by ice cream. While it was too much even for two people, and it wasn't the worst dessert I've ever had, but it is possibly the first restaurant dessert where I've ever thrown out the uneaten portion. Dinner above with the two sangrias was $82 plus tip. In our world, that's a nicer dinner but not five star. The problem is normally when you pay that you get a meal that's memorable for positive reasons, and I can't say that happened. We will at some point go back, probably when it's warmer and probably for a burger on the patio with our pup tagging along. Maybe I'll feel differently after that, but for now, not in a hurry for that second chance. read more

Bad service, manager lied about wait times and were very rude to us. We waited over an hour when we were told the wait would be 45 minutes, so we waited and finally went back up to the front to ask about the wait, then told it'd be another 30-45 minutes for a table. There were open tables throughout the restaurant but we somehow were not able to be seated anywhere. The hostess treated us like we were an inconvenience. Management did not seem to care or know how to run a restaurant. There are better options, go elsewhere. read more

Dined here 7/6/23 for dinner. Generally we have had good service and food here, but last night was a huge exception. Not sure what was going on, but it took nearly 20 minutes just to get water/drinks and then over an hour wait for food. When we inquired as to the issue, we were first told one of the chefs had an injury. Then we were told by the waitress and manager that they were filling a high number of take-out orders. Why would they let take -out orders take priority over in-house guests? Stop taking take-out orders if you are backed up! We were not the only table not happy. Most around us were not happy. The worst part, the manager didn't really seem to care. Her statement was that they were slammed with takeouts, but no real apology at all. Our waitress was not very attentive, nor did she offer an apology until is was time to pay (and tip!). They did take $20 off our dinner/drinks for four. My time and enjoyment eating out is worth way more than $20! Not sure I'm willing to risk that experience again in the near future. read more

Went back in after trying to eat at the new joint a couple of doors down and was pleasantly surprised at the staff improvements. Wife and I had a salad and a burger and everything was good. They had Poutine as an appetizer on the Restaurant week menu but not the regular menu so we went for restaurant week. We have been in search of Poutine like you find in Canada and some of the northern states. I've never been lucky enough to taste the real deal but my husband has. The restaurant week menu included a choice between two appetizers, three entrees, and pudding for dessert. We both ordered the Poutine for our appetizer. It wasn't like the dish you get up north because it was served with brisket and the cheese wasn't melted but this version was delicious. I then had the Quail for my entree. It was crispy and cooked perfectly. Everything was so good we must come back to try some of the items on the regular menu. The pub itself was very nice. There were plenty of tables and a lot of seating at the bar. There were several TVs if you are interested in watching a game while you eat. This is such a cute, pleasant little place. It is decorated really nice, very clean and nice staff. We shared the wings which weren't great but our main courses made up for it. I had a pesto chicken sandwich which was amazing and my husband had some sort of three cheese mushroom melt which he loved. The fries were very good too! They were hand-cut style. Redefining hospitality to No-spitality, the theme of my dining experience was indifference. From the host to the server to the lack of acknowledgement from the seven different employees I saw, Scouts Pub was the least friendly environment that I have experienced. The pros...attractive location, good outdoor seating, decent macaroni and cheese. The cons...lethargic server(seated more than 10 minutes without being approached, had to ask for silverware, added charge for side when I was told there is no up charge, cold hamburger, state, dry crostini, began closing the restaurant more than an hour before closing, no acknowledgment by manager. Very disappointed and Weill not return, much better options and hopefully whatever management Scouts Pub has will be engaged to deliver a quality, professional positive dinning experience. read more

WOW what a horrible place!!! We walked in and the "hostess " barely acknowledged my wife and 2 girls. We sat there for 15 minutes with menus but no server or anyone even stopping by our table to see what we might like to drink. We watched other people from Westhaven community come and get sat and receive drinks immediately. I guess people who are brown and of Asian decent don't get acknowledged in this community. We eat at Scouts three times a week because it's our neighborhood go to. Unfortunately they have made a decision to short staff in every area. We ordered drinks before dinner tonight and 45 minutes later the drinks had not arrived, but our dinner and appetizers came out all at once. Drinks maybe five or ten minutes later. We would have loved to have ordered a second drink but we weren't going to sit around for another hour. Other tables were equally upset and waving their drink glasses trying to get refills. Huge mistake on the part of Scouts. I felt really sorry for the waiters, who were running around like crazy trying to take care of everyone, but with no back up from the bar. Two waiters were handling a full house. Scouts is severely understaffed at this time. The food is still good though. read more
