We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. The space is quite large but for its size I do wish they used the space in a better way. The parking garage is very close by and it's free. So very convenient if going with young kids. We are a family of 4 and it cost us $52 in total for admission. I don't know why places charge for adults - like we are not going to climb and slide ( well unless we need to help the kids but voluntarily - NO!). Adults are free on weekdays but not free on weekends - dont understand it. I mean it's $3 per adult but rather give the $3 as a credit voucher and we can have a cup of coffee or a drink. Anyway - I would say that this place is more geared for kids under 7 years old. They have a cute baby area and a toddler area. The "obstacle course" for older kids is very small and once you do it- that's it. I do think they should incorporate more activities for older kids. The toddler area is nice but my daughter (4) got pretty bored after going through it like 3 times maybe. Aa many reviewers have said - there is not much table seating around the older kids and toddler area . There are some tables by the baby area which doesn't really make sense as a parent will most likely be with the baby at all times. It's pretty gloomy down there. Anyway - the place is clean and they have a restaurant ( well food and a seating area) on the main level. Quite convenient when the kids want to play but they also need to eat. I did see that you can host a birthday there - which looked sweet as there was a birthday happening when I visited. The toilets are clean and there are change tables. The staff are around but they don't really engage with the kiddos really. The atmosphere of the place is ok. I do like that it's very clean. Would I go here again? Probably not. The kids said they wouldn't come back again as nothing excited them about the place. They were over it after an hour. I think if you have younger kids / they will enjoy it more. read more

I brought my kids here after the third or fourth snow day to get out of the house. We spent from about 12-4:30 and it was relatively empty compared to my typical experiences with indoor playgrounds. Probably due to the weather. We parked across the street but I believe there is a small parking lot for the building. So when you walk in, on the left is the cafe area, books for sale straight ahead, and on the right a little toddler area. Most of the action is downstairs. They have a large open obstacle course and then a few different areas with slides and soft play. There is also a large area with magnet blocks. We had a couple of kids meals and the value was fair. My kids are 3 and 7 and while the younger one could not do quite everything, there was enough she could do that made the visit worth it. My 7 year old could easily do all the courses. This is a nice addition to the Scramble family and we will definitely visit again. read more

After visiting Scramble Parkour for my daughter's friend's nineth birthday party, I recommend it for younger kids. My daughter is super active and LOVES places like this, but when asked how'd she rate it, she replied, "I'd give it three stars because most of the courses are for younger kids." That's fair. There are some great area, but most of the downstairs courses are for younger kids. That said, we had a great experience here. Staff are efficient and kind and the space is easy to navigate. It's clean and the walls are decorated with murals by local artists. They have food and drinks as well. If you have younger kids, I highly recommend it! read more

I had wanted to check out Scramble Parkour for a while and finally came after they added the new play area for younger kids. There is a baby area with smaller slides and a jungle with different level of slides and climbing routes. My two toddlers had a blast, we came 2 hrs before it closed on a Sunday at Thanksgiving weekend so there were not a whole lot of people to share the space with. The place was clean, they did enforce the grip socks rule. The union station cafe is available for a quick bite. We come to Shirlington a lot and I like that it is situated right next to free public parking. It can be pricey when taking two kids to Scramble compared to other indoor playgrounds. I will look out for their promotions for our next visit. Will recommend for first timers! read more

Came here for a kid's birthday party, and was really surprised at how not crowded the place was. I heard that this opened up in Shirlington recently, so maybe that's why it wasn't so packed. My son had a blast traversing through the obstacle course and running around the entire place. Looking at the party packages available, the pricing seems very reasonable too! Took my 8-year-old nephew here and he had a great time. The indoor parkour obstacle course is fun and well designed for kids his age. The facility was clean, which I appreciated, but it was very crowded when we went, making some areas feel a bit chaotic. There's decent bench seating for parents and guardians to sit and watch, which is helpful. They also have a café upstairs, though the prices are pretty steep for what you get. The place was nice, but it's unfortunately pretty hidden and not easily accessible. I live close by and had no idea this place even excited! PROS: The space is clean, and not too busy if you go during the week due to its low location-visibility. It's great for older kids between 7 and up, and even for adults who want to get some exercise on an obstacle course. CONS: While the space is nice and the staff were friendly, the layout of the rooms and equipment was a bit disjointed and doesn't flow well. There is one block of cubbies in the main area, which is fine if not crowded, but nowhere near enough for a busy day. There are only a couple benches in the main area, with the only tables being in the back corner of the small kids area which aren't immediately visible. Everything felt very closed off and compartmentalized rather than open and accessible like at the other locations. Equipment is pretty limited for older kids and very little to do for toddlers. The one section they do have for younger kids is basically a three -part section of magnetic building blocks that won't hold a toddler's attention for longer than maybe 20 minutes. The obstacle course is pretty basic, and when not busy, it can be fun but on a crowded day, I don't see how kids can fully enjoy it due to the layout. The cafe and the play area are completely separate, with the cafe being on the top floor when you come in. So, if you want food or a drink you can't easily pause and go over to a table, you'll have to walk up a flight of stairs and completely exit the play area, which I super wasn't fond of. I also wasn't fond of the flooring. The mats used were just slightly thicker puzzle pieces rather than the thick foam padding that's seen in other play places. Because of that, I worried the floor would still be a bit too hard if falling from a higher height, definitely for my toddler (who still wanted to play in the bigger area), but even for a slightly bigger kid. Additionally, there is zero cell phone reception in the building, so I couldn't even pull up the waiver when the staff asked me to use the QR code. You need to connect to the WiFi if you want to have any access to your phone--also a strike for me. All in all, this is a great place for older kids and I love the proximity to where we live, however, I was a little disappointed there wasn't as much age-appropriate things for my 2 year old to do because of the type of equipment available. While I'd still recommend this place if you have older kids, you might fare better at the other locations for the younger kiddos. read more

I wanted to be able to sit at a table, get some quiet work done while my elementary aged kids ran thru the the various obstacles but because it's a multi-level layout and there is an expectation you stay present with your children, it's not relaxing for parents. When it comes to parkour, I really prefer a format where an instructor leads and demonstrates age appropriate exercises and safe use of equipment (similar to Urban Evolution or Mindshift). My eldest child has done parkour and what I saw was NOT parkour. Unfortunately, I don't know many teens who can afford the $30 or who would want to work around the toddlers. I'm just not sure if the present format will prosper. read more

I thought this would be great for older kids, but there are limited things to do overall. Everything pretty much requires you to be right next to your kid ( the staff will say something if you aren't), so tough if you have more than one kid. The little kid part is super small and wouldn't hold the attention of any small kid for more than 1/2 hour. Some of the older kid attractions I didn't see a single kid on it the whole time we were there! My kids did love the building blocks part, but I can see if it was crowded it could be problematic. There is also no place for adults to sit, I get it you want us to be near our kids..but all it did was make the adults sit on the floor! We might give it another chance if we go with friends, but we won't go back just us! read more

We have been to scramble Parkour 3 times. 1 okay experience, 1 great experience and 1 not so great experience. The first time was when it first opened and had mostly obstacle courses. The 2nd time was about a week ago with the new obstacle courses and climbing areas. We went on a Sunday morning around 10am and my son had a great time. He loved the added additions and was exhausted from so much fun. We had planned to even have his 5th birthday at this location. There wasn't many kids and most of the kids were around his age (3-6). FAST FORWARD to yesterday (November 26), and our thoughts quickly changed. We arrived 12pm, knowing it would be busy due to schools being closed. We didn't mind that. My son started playing and within 1 minute he was pushed when going up the "jungle gym" area by an older kid. It happens, it's fine, moving on. He was having fun but often alarmed by the "big kids" but still having fun. I look over at the magnetic block area and I see kids throwing (in a dodgeball fashion) the blocks at each other. I ask 2 employees if they were supposed to be doing that and their response was "no they aren't , we told them to stop and they won't listen, and their parent aren't doing anything about it ." At which I just stared at them... confused as to why they just seemed to let it go. At this point my son decided he wanted to play in that area. We started building a castle which was difficult while dodging blocks but we continued. The employees did come over and tell the kids to stop throwing, and giving them strikes if they continued. They continued. I had to tell multiple children to stop throwing the blocks/taking blocks from other kids (apparently some kids are not taught how to share) etc. At one point a manager did come over and did end up speaking to a parent about their child's behavior. Did it help? No. All in all, if you have kids under 5, try to go at an earlier time. If you have kids 10 and up, teach them how to interact in a public space with varying ages. Some older kids were very kind and cognizant of their surroundings while others need a lesson or two. It would be nice if they blocked off times for different age groups (I know that would never happen) or at least be serious about the behavior. read more

As a bonus for parents with older kids who need less supervision: there's a cafe area where you can bring your laptop or book! read more

Scramble Parkour Shirlington is GARBAGE! - First parking is $1.75 an hour - Next it is $20+ dollars a kid plus tax - The 0-7 area is just magnetic blocks. Nothing for babies. And a small "parkour" area. - The big kid (7+) area requires parental supervision. Why? Because there are no nets, no crash pads underneath, no safety measure whatsoever. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Awesome place! Fun for children and adults! It's relaxing because adults can sit and drink wine or have a snack while the kids play in full view of what's going on. There is SO much to do! They have cute simulations to explore-farm, sea, glow in the dark room, huge slides and safe things to climb! read more

Had a great time with my large 5 year old son! He enjoyed both the ninja stuff and also the block zone. Shout out to Jasmine for helping him build a sweet/epic pyramid slide with blocks and being really patient and fun with him. Very disappointing overall. We were hoping for a fun outing with our kids, but were underwhelmed. There were some positives - - it is new and clean, the staff are more attentive than at the other scrambles, and the magnetic building blocks were fun. But, there were so many negatives: 1. Very expensive - For our 5 kids, we paid $89 and then were told that we also had to pay $15 for socks ($3/pair). This was disappointing because the website said that socks were provided by Scramble, which implies that the socks are included. There is also no mention that you can wear any grip socks, so I would have brought some from home had the website been more clear. I spoke to a manager about this, but she was not sympathetic. She said that they are working on the website to correct it and are conveying the information in person in the meantime. That is less than helpful after a 30-minute drive to get there. 2. There is very little parkour. It is more like a ninja obstacle course. Kids were everywhere though, so no kids could actually run the obstacle course. 3. Overall, it is very small and there is much less to do than at the original Scrambles. My kids were bored quickly but we tried to stick it out a bit and find things to do to justify the $100+ outing. 4. This is best targeted for the 3-7 year old range. My 8 and 10 year old didn't have much to do. As I mentioned, they wanted to run the obstacle course but there were too many kids. They also wanted to do parkour, but there was very little of that. My 3-and 6-year-olds had fun, mostly with the building blocks. My 1-year-old had nothing to do. 5. The set-up is a bit awkward. You pay upstairs and are given your socks, but all the cubbies are downstairs (except there weren't enough so we ended up just piling our stuff on the floor). Before you are allowed downstairs, you have to wait at the top of the stairs for a safety briefing, which was very long and very unnecessary (it was all really obvious stuff that any responsible parent would have already reviewed with their kids). But anyways, you have to stand at the top of the stairs holding your jackets, shoes, etc. while you wait for the briefing. We also were delayed an extra 3-4 minutes because the staff wanted to wait for another family to come over and do a joint safety briefing. 3-4 mins seems insignificant, but with 5 excited kids, an armful of jackets, and a toddler trying to climb down the stairs, it was an annoying part of the process. So, while there were a couple of fun moments, overall, it was very overpriced for large families and very underwhelming. We all wish we would have just gone to the regular scramble, as this felt like a big miss and waste of money. read more
