I've only heard great things about the Scratch N' Sniff trees and so I was so happy I could actually go see one in person. They have them in store at All The Best Pet Care. The ladies who helped me were kind enough to call the other location to send over pictures of their trees that way I didn't have to drive all over Seattle just to find the perfect one (each tree is made one of a kind.) At the end of the day, I went with the one they had at the Burien store. The wood is BEAUTIFUL!! They're a bit pricey but the quality and uniqueness of them makes it so worth it! I would recommend them to anyone who's considering getting an upgrade for their babies. read more

We were visiting Washington in November, getting ready for our move out here. My husband decided to go on a little driving adventure. We passed Denny's Pet World in Kirkland. From the street, the store caught my eye, as I saw cat trees in the window. We stopped, and went in. We fell in love with the driftwood immediately, and decided after our move, we would purchase one. Today was the day! Unfortunately, Denny's did not have what we were looking for. I Googled the number to Scratch & Sniff. The kind woman explained that they had just delivered some today at other locations. If we had wanted to, we could order a custom one, but they were 3-4 weeks out on deliveries. We decided to check out the stores she mentioned (Mud Bay and Paddywacks in Mill Creek). We went to both, but purchased from Paddywacks. I posted pictures. My kittens are very happy, and we are so happy with our purchase! We have been looking at cat trees for awhile in store and online, and found exactly what we were looking for from Scratch and Sniff. The craftsmanship is outstanding, the unit is very sturdy, the carpet used is nice and soft. Not to mention, the unit is aesthetically pleasing. It's just perfect for our kittens! read more

I first fell in love with Scratch and Sniff when I discovered them at Mudbay. I had to have one!! The ones they had sold out on the daily so I contacted them to see if they made custom trees to accommodate bigger kitties (like my 16pd maine coon babies Akira and Tetsuo) and sure enough the owner explained they can do just about anything! Custom carpet color and type, landing platform size is adjustable, the houses can be larger or smaller, and the amount of purches is also customizable! my order was complex, I had alot of specs I wanted including: extra large purches/landings, lipped edging on the purches, extra tall height, thick lush grey carpet, and most importantly a very sturdy base. My older very expensive cat tree was so broken only after a year, the carpet was coming off, the "wood" was falling apart, and it would literally tip over if my large kitties did a sprint n climb, which would send me in a frenzy because its a large busted cat tree and its about to deathtrap my pets. The delivery was difficult as my schedule was all over the place, but they were the most patient people! when it did arrive safe and sound I wanted to cry it was so beautiful, a true piece of art!! * as a side note I live in downtown Seattle and most roads are one ways with NO PARKING, immense traffic and lots of pedestrians with power trips so I am beyond surprised they even delivered it as most companies wont even think about it. It went above and beyond my expectations! it was crafted so beautifully and strong, the base was incredibly sturdy, the drift wood was gorgeous, the carpet was long and lush with a blue grey dreamy color. This cat tree will last us for many years if not a lifetime! (also the tag attached was crafted on a piece of wood, it was so cute) If your thinking of getting a cat tree please please pleeeease dont hesitate on buying a Scratch and Sniff cat tree! dont waste your money on any other brand as I speak from experience, they dont last and are a waste of money! Last year, Xena Bengal Warrior Princess joined my family. Before she came home with me, I had already decided to spoil her and give her a lifestyle becoming of her wild roots. I had seen Scratch & Sniff furniture before and as soon as I knew she would be mine, I set about planning what kind of piece I would get. Bengals jump high, are very active, and aren't your typical lap kitties. I knew that I would nee a piece at least 5 feet tall, if not taller. Luckily, I found one that was perfect at Mud Bay. It has three levels and is positioned on a sturdy platform. One level is kind of a "u" shape for laying in. Another level is a flat square. The third level is the cutest carpeted house. You'd expect to find carpeted surfaces on just about any piece of cat furniture. The reason I bought this type of piece is because of the driftwood. Instead of "regular" wood, this piece is built from driftwood. I loved the look of it and thought Xena would like it too. She sure does! I was initially worried about how a 4-month old kitten would be around furniture. The answer - great! Xena only scratches the driftwood on her furniture. Win! I was also worried about whether she would like it since it wasn't cheap. She loves it! As she has gotten older, she has gone from jumping from level to level to get to the top to jumping straight up to the third level from the ground. At this point, she can jump about 5 feet in the air and I've heard that 8-9 feet are no problem for adult bengals. The price? My piece cost about $250. I've taken a lot of heat from my friends about the cost. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. I have no doubt that I will have to replace this piece within the next year or two. That's only because Xena is such a wild cat that she's tearing the driftwood apart and doing the same to the house. I'm certain that if I bought the "standard" cat furniture, she would have already destroyed it. You can skimp and save a few pennies to buy cheaper furniture. If you want something that's well built, I'd recommend this company. read more

Have seen their scratching posts/cat towers in various pet stores and have always coveted them. Recently came across their booth at the Des Moines Farmer's Market and decided to order one. While it did take a few weeks to produce, I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. Julie was wonderful about providing updates as to expected delivery date and even allowed me to choose from two different finished towers. Julie took my measurements, and made sure she understood the need to keep my cat off the counters by providing a higher, more comfy place to be. The price was reasonable, and it took only about a week to be finished. They delivered for a reasonable fee and it's perfect. I can't get my kitty off it and she's definitely not on the kitchen counters anymore. We have a driftwood condo, and our cats LOVE it. In fact, one cat has staked her claim on it and fights the other to the tooth to keep her out. We couldn't find them anywhere when searching for a second, and finally returned to MudBay in Mill Creek to get the low-down. They directed us here, so I am giving a review where it is due for an awesome product and then shortly sending them an email to request another. Update: We special ordered a driftwood, 3-tiered cat tree, and our cats adore it! We worked closely with the owners on the design, and we now see similar ones everywhere. Cat-approved, I guess! These folks know what they are doing, and meticulously check all cat houses for nails, screws, splinters, etc. We have never had any issues with our cats being harmed. The materials they use are durable and don't give off any funny or harmful odors. If you want custom or pre-made pieces that last, fit the PNW-lifestyle décor, and are going to wow you guests and kitties, get one of these. Money well-spent! Plus, they deliver! read more

First heard about Scratch & Sniff at Mud Bay. I was looking for a tree that was a bit taller then the ones they carried at the store. I reached out to Scratch & Sniff and Manny got back to me within the hour. He was extremely helpful and sent pictures of what types of driftwood he would use as well as the carpet. We love these cat towers. We love them so much that we now have three of them: one that is just is a ledge on a post, one with three ledges, and our newest which has five separate levels. Our cats love these posts and we love them too since they look so nice in a house and don't ruin the decor. In fact they really add too it. Price is totally worth it. I recently adopted a kitten from the humane society and already have a two year old dog so I wanted to ensure that the kitten would have a nice, safe place to go that was higher than the dog could reach. I did a lot of research on cat trees and really don't like the appearance of most of them (they are an eye sore and usually don't feel like they fit with your current decor. Then I found Scratch & Sniff. The cat tree is functional, beautiful, and reasonably priced. Despite it being a cat tree, it really fits into the room and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I'm very pleased with my product and will definitely buy any future cat trees from them. I only wish I could find more of their products. read more
