We wholeheartedly recommend Alena! She has been taking excellent care of our two kitties over the last couple of years. She's been to our house for a total of eight visits and always sends us a daily report along with wonderful photos that let us know all is well. In addition to making sure that our kitties are well fed and played with and litter boxes attended to, she has taken care of our plants and brought in mail and packages. Alena has also contended with ant invasions and a kitty that likes to eat too quickly and sometimes vomits afterwards. Our two young kitties are usually a little curious but also a little skittish but Alena won them over really quickly and now they love her! My anxiety makes it really challenging to find someone to not only be in our home while we're not around, but also to look after our babies. Alena put me at ease right away and she was comfortable with our trial period where she would come to play with the kitties during the day while we were out (once while we were working from home too). They were so much happier that they had play time during the day while we were away, we knew that she would take great care of them while we were out of town. Alena has her systems down to ensure that she not only has the information she needs to take great care of them just like you would, but also has the information to know what to do in the case of an emergency (heaven forbid). We were so reassured to know that she was proactively thinking of these things so that she would be prepared for just about anything. Alena took care of our two kitties (& our fish!) for various trips we took over the last two years & she was never short of amazing. It was great to know that our elderly maine coon was happy & well-loved while we were away, and Alena would send us pics on her visits. You could practically hear the purrs! Our other "invisible cat" stayed out of sight but Alena monitored her food & water to make sure she was alright, even unseen. Alena is the absolute best. SO glad we found her when she came to Seattle. We have a very shy boy cat and even after a week of pills he still loves her. She's gifted with "String Worm," our girl cat's favorite ribbon toy, and they seem to have a blast. When it iced over in Seattle last winter Alena CRAMPONED up the hill to make sure our cats had food - not even I would have walked up that hill in the ice. I cannot say enough about our experience with Alena. Kitty Buddy is a very apt name for her business. Mary and Rhoda (yes, as in "you're gonna make it after all..") were in the best hands. When Rhoda, who is very sweet but pretty shy, warmed up to her immediately on Alena's very first intro visit, I knew we had a winner. Alena is incredibly organized - she compiled her careful notes in a Google doc and shared them with me to edit/amend. Being a producer made me feel at ease. While we were away Alena sent reports and photos. I'm usually a wreck when I'm away from them, but the girls had a ball (photos uploaded) and I had not one worry the entire time. And lemme tell you, that is no small feat. Upon return, Mary and Rhoda were perky and talkative. I didn't get the usual stink-eye and cold shoulder. Success! "There is no such thing as kitty TMI." was a parting statement by Alena during our key handoff the day before I left for my trip, as I was yammering and apologetic for bombarding her with more details. I can't recommend Alena enough!!!! She is kind, caring, and reliable. She always sends pictures of my cat. When I come home he is happy and content. Most recently, on her final visit this weekend, she noticed our ceiling leaking from the apartment above, their bathroom had flooded. She somehow tracked down the maintenance manager of our building and took the time to alert him and get him on the job immediately. She kept our ceiling from caving in and causing massive damage. Alena is an excellent kitty guardian! There were very big shoes to fill, and I hadn't been away from them since COVID began so when I moved to Bellingham, so the bar/anxiety was high, and she has exceeded them. It was important to me that she had cats of her own and that her business was cat-focused. She had a thorough checklist that I filled out online and she came over to meet them, ask more questions, and learn the house before I took my first trip. Leaving my cats is a very big deal for me and I do not trust just anyone to come into my house and care for my kitties when I'm away. Knowing that she would care for the kitties as I would (and how she would her own cats) speaks volumes. She is prompt with answering availability of dates, sends detailed updates on each visit (2x a day), and texts me amazing pictures of play time - my pictures NEVER come out like hers. She also doesn't give up on Winnie who hisses and keeps her distance. She didn't even roll her eyes when I asked her to make sure KEXP was streaming all the when I was gone. The kitties have high standards for music! I hope there is never an emergency while I'm gone but I would 100% trust Alena to be there for my cat/s in a scary medical situation until I could get home. read more

Alena rocks! It is well documented that she is amazing with cats but don't overlook her wonderful dog skills. She has been walking our dog Turner a few times a week since she was a puppy. Honestly, I don't know where we would be without Alena. They go to various parks in the area for some exercise and play time and Turner comes back happy and exhausted. She often brings one additional dog along and they have become best friends. If we need a change in plans, she is very accommodating. When Turner was younger, Alena helped to reinforce our training. KittyBuddy is a DoggyBuddy too! I absolutely trust Alena of KittyBuddy with my blind, old lady dog, Oreo (who you can see, looking very happy while eating a pig ear, in the KittyBuddy photo album). Alena is patient, responsible, compassionate, and goes above and beyond the call of duty to take extra good care of my special needs girl. Oreo has something called SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) that caused her to go blind very suddenly, along with a marked increase in appetite & thirst, and accordingly, an increase in urination. She's also 14 years old. When I am away, I need a "live-in" sitter to be there for Oreo off and on throughout the day and night to handle these special needs. As you can imagine, Oreo is not the easiest pup to care for, but Alena handles her perfectly, with love, patience, and a great attitude. Oreo and I have our "systems" for just about everything, so that she has the routine and stability she needs and so that I can manage the potty accidents and such as efficiently as possible with minimal disturbance to the house and neighbors. Basically, I run a tight ship by necessity, to keep things sane and calm, and Alena totally gets it! She is super great about sticking to our systems to keep Oreo happy and content and the whole household orderly and clean. Plus I get updates while I'm away and a full "wrap-up" report at the end so I know everything relevant that happened while I was gone. I love that. Zero worries. I really just cannot praise Alena's services enough. The peace of mind I have when I am away from home, knowing that my sweet blind girl is being cared for so well, is priceless. read more

She was awesome in reporting how he was doing, what he was playing with, and any issues/updates we needed to know (bringing in unexpected packages and mail, any Marty barfs, etc).
