Like, I come in with some bands I want to explore and it's a total whiff. It just happened again today. No Lou Reed, no Cameron Winter, no REM, no Roxy Music. Maybe good music doesn't sell well in this part of town and they have to stock accordingly? I don't know but I don't come into a record store to order records, I come to buy them and I haven't been able to do that for a while here. I wish them well and maybe I'll try again in a few months, maybe not.

I used to go to this shop back when it was in Seabrook. They have a ton of comics back stock and rare items on the wall. They also do some good sales for back issues and books etc for a good price. On the other side it was very bright and open. Lots of rap/hip hop, pop and rock. I spent $174 for maybe 8 vinyls 2 buttons and an iron on patch.

When we tried to play the CD's in our high-end Marantz SA-11S1 audio player, it would not recognize any of the disks. Usually, we can insert CD's that look like they've been drug down the street and scratched badly, and they still play, but it would not play any of these. Nor would the CD players in our cars would recognize them. We checked the internet. There is a known issue with this Box set. We attempted to return it, we didn't wish for cash back; store credit would have been fine. But we were refused. We have been customers with Music town for over 40 years, and never once have tried to return anything. Anytime we walked in we would often spend over $1000. We enjoyed shopping there. Unfortunately, this is NOT how you treat your VIP customers. Or ANY customer. Stand behind what you sell or GTFO of the business. James would have never refused to compensate with at least store credit. We are very disappointed with the new owners. We left the un-working box set there and left. We will not be back. I found parallel parking right in front on the store, I'm sure there's a lot close by if parallel parking isn't your thing. The store is narrow but they have made excellent use of the space. There are tons of comics, books, action figures and even a small selection of reasonably priced vinyl records. The employee was talking to a younger comic book fan while I was there, suggesting what to read and characters he might like. I could tell the employee had a real passion for what he was doing, it was very nice. I'm glad I made the trip to Baytown, it's a really cool store.

The owner is passionate about comic books and games and has enough knowledge to recommend either based on what you are looking for. He sometimes hosts MTG tournaments and and has a solid collection of commons that he sells for cheap, as well as a collection of rares and mythics that go for higher, but reasonable prices. I've been here several times and will keep coming back. Nice to have a decent comic/gaming shop in Baytown that isn't that other one.
