He stole a horse, and he's been shuffled around the justice system ever since. When I finally visited him in jail, I was pleasantly surprised that he's not a robot. There's actually a real live actor who listens to his visitors from a remote location and responds intelligently. I told him that I'd get him out on bail reform. He wasn't too hopeful. But then I told him I'd be able to set him up with subsidized housing upon his release, and he was pleased to hear that.

I thought it would just be one drop but no it was multiple ones that made me personally super scared. The ones I have been on have all been excellent! I love the drops and rises and the music is fun! The line is usually very long, so be prepared to wait when you want to ride Guardians! You can get to it by boarding a log raft at the dock. There is a short and scenic ride that goes to the Island. Originally Pirate's Lair opened on Tom Sawyer Island in June of 1956. It is one of the only attractions at Disneyland that was actually designed by Walt Disney himself! The island was transformed and renamed Pirate's Lair for the Disney Park's efforts to add elements from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies into the park in 2007. After your arrival onto the island, you will find no path to follow, no line to stand in, and no ride vehicles to board! Simply wander along the shaded pathways, climb the rickety bridges, explore the winding caves and pirate hideaways! A few of the exciting things to see and experience include Dead Man's Grotto (a series of dark caves filled with pirate figures and hidden treasure) and Smuggler's Cove (which features suspension bridges and pirate themed play areas with shipwrecks). Castle Rock is the high vantage point to see the park and river from a distance! The number of fun, interactive experiences available at Pirate's Lair are endless! Pirate's Lair should be on the list of places to visit at least once while you are at Disneyland. Raft boarding is located near the Haunted Mansion ride. Pirate's Lair is also a nice spot to get out of the sun and take a break from the rides at the theme park!

I hadn't been across the Rivers of America in a while but, as most Disneyland regulars do when the…read morepark is packed, I hopped the raft for a short ride over to Pirate's Lair at Tom Sawyer Island. I was very disappointed in what I found. First, it is clear Disney has zero interest in investing anything in upkeep of the island. It's in a bad state of repair, which is sadly nothing new for Disney. I'd say more than half of the fun interactive parts of the Lair are inoperable with no plans to fix them. Remember how you could turn the wheel to raise the treasure chest out of the sunken ship? Broken. Parts of the bridges and walkways are closed and roped off. And it looks like it's been this way for a long, long while. The caves are still cool, but the effects look so dated and corny now. It's a shame, because this could be a super cool attraction that's away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park. There are some good aspects. You can climb high for a terrific vista of the park, and it's super fun to wave at the riverboat as it chugs by. There is no snack bar on the island anymore, but it's fun to take over some warm chocolate chip mini cookies from Harbor House and eat them at one of the picnic tables and random seating areas on the island. There's plenty of shade and sun if you want it, and the kids can burn off a lot of energy explorig the dark and sometimes spooky caves. There's a quiet restroom tucked away here too. I really wish Disney would invest some time and money into fixing this attraction. I fear it will eventually go the same way it has at Disney World in Florida: total removal. Let's hope that never happens, for the sake of Walt's original vision.

We had a perfect spot to view. All of your fave Pixar movie characters are represented. Lots of fun to see them walk and dance by, and some on matching floats. Fun music all the way too. Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life and more. They were all here.

Very short - maybe 15 minutes tops - but a valiant attempt at representing Pixar's movies (although a couple were oddly missing). The music is peppy and made to entice folks to sing along. The viewing areas are very tight...too tight to accommodate all the people who wish to watch. The Disneyland gestapo prevent anyone from stopping to watch unless you are inside the ropes. Actually the problem is that half the areas reserved for viewing are taken up with empty strollers. Tough to find a spot to sit or stand to enjoy the "parade".

I hadn't ridden the Storybook Land Canal Boats in like 30+ years - I actually have no memory or recollection of ever riding it. Storybook Land Canal Boats is a leisurely 12 person boat ride through Monstro's open mouth into a canal surrounded by miniature replicas of Disney animated films - mostly their homes. We saw Ariel and Prince Eric's castle, Elsa's Ice Castle, Arendelle, Aladdin and Jazmine's palace and the newest addition - Rapunzel's tower! It is a very cute ride, but I do see now why I never went on it or have no memory of it - it is arguably forgettable. There are no animatronics or characters. I could even see it being boring for kids, but if you need to rest or take a break - this 6 minute ride would help! I'm glad my family and I checked it out, but I don't see us rushing to ride it for a long time!

Man how can you be a runner from LA if you haven't done the LA Marathon the one and only LA…read moreMarathon. From start to finish this a party regardless of where it ends. This is a tough course especially now that it ends at Avenue of the Stars with the last couple of miles being rolling hills but don't fear LA got you. I always enjoy this marathon but sign up early so you don't have to pay a crazy fee. I also get the refundable insurance just in case I learned my lesson when I got injured and had to walk most of the marathon in 2023. This has to be my favorite Road running race!

The experience of running in the LA Marathon was both unbelievable and unforgettable. The entire…read morecity showed up to support runners like myself in a way that felt downright transformative. Every mile was packed with supporters, live music, drag queens, and grab and go grub, so the energy through all 26 miles was amaze. The race itself was also thoughtfully organized, with friendly staff and signage throughout the entire race. My only quam is that after the finish line there was around a quarter mile walk to refuel and get to bag check. Although it's only a quarter mile, it did feel like an eternity on shaky lactic acid legs. With that said, I'm absolutely going to run it again next year. Only love to you LA (hearts)
