All the Disney parades are pretty great but unless you're lucky enough to be in the parks during Pixarfest you won't be able to see this one We were walking around just past Main Street when the parade came by us. We had a perfect spot to view. All of your fave Pixar movie characters are represented. Lots of fun to see them walk and dance by, and some on matching floats. Fun music all the way too. This parade is at Disneyland but I believe was formerly at California Adventure. It can barely be called a parade. Very short - maybe 15 minutes tops - but a valiant attempt at representing Pixar's movies (although a couple were oddly missing). The music is peppy and made to entice folks to sing along. The viewing areas are very tight...too tight to accommodate all the people who wish to watch. The Disneyland gestapo prevent anyone from stopping to watch unless you are inside the ropes. Actually the problem is that half the areas reserved for viewing are taken up with empty strollers. Tough to find a spot to sit or stand to enjoy the "parade". read more

Not with the lights and music of the Electrical Parades of the past but seems some if not all of this Pixar Play Parade used to be at California Adventure a few years back. Alot of your favorite Pixar characters roll past you on Main Street starting from the entrance area for the 6 pm Parade. It is a happy light hearted Parade with colorful floats, dancers, guys on bouncing stilts, and cute creatures. Of course a Pixar Parade would not be the same without Woody and Buzz Lightyear bringing up the rear of the parade. One of the movies "Up" has two of it's major characters in the Parade. The old white hair man and the boy, Russell. I had never seen that movie before so when my first sweetie asked me, who is that on a Disney sticker book, I just said fat boy without thinking. That afternoon when her mom picked her up she was so excited to tell her about Fat Boy. Of course her mother looked at me with daggers and said, that is not nice. It became a private joke between my sweetie and me, but not in front of her mother. I finally watched the movie with her and learned that the kid's name was Russell. read more

Pixar movie characters! We picked our spot to watch the parade just outside of A Bug's Land. Actually the parade route is most of the park and provides plenty of fantastic vantage points from which to view the parade. The route is longer than that of the parades in Disneyland. We didn't have to wait for 2 hours to secure a good spot to view the parade, there were definitely more guests in Disneyland than Disney CA Adventure. This parade showcased some favorite characters from Disney Pixar films such as Woody, Sulley and Mater, the Incredibles, Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo. I can't remember some of the names of the Disney characters but the littlest member of our group (niece) could name them all. oh my! Oh! Also, be prepared to get wet! I don't know why I was always a target every time these characters with water guns came by... I wasn't soaking wet but I was always picked on. You see, during warmer days all of the floats launch water and mist and I didn't know that! It was fun, though, a relief from the heat! I wonder what will they feature during cooler months... bubbles? Fun for all ages. The new parade at Disneyland all Pixar characters except for this viewing they were missing the UP float was wondering where it was maybe it was broken down that day who knows, anyways it was a fun parade fair warning almost all floats will squirt you with water. Overall a cute fun parade although in my opinion the tune is not as catchy as like Paint the Night or Main St Electrical Parade. This is one of our favorite parades located at the Disney's California Adventure Park. This parade features fun and colorful floats and popular characters from a handful of their favorite Pixar films such as Monsters University, Toy Story, Cars and Finding Nemo. My daughter loves the fact that the floats also shoot little streams of water into the audience (pending the weather at the park and time of year) while tops of many of the buildings throughout the park release thousands of bubbles above the many spectators as the floats pass by. We have watched this parade numerous times, and have always enjoyed singing and dancing along to each film's catchy and very memorable tunes. The best is during the park's slow season or when we plan ahead to get a front row seat along the sidewalk in Hollywood Land where the parade first begins. The start of the parade begins at Tower of Terror and ends at Paradise Pier. What I love about being at Disney CA Adventure is its not as busy as Disneyland, so you're bound to find a good spot to enjoy the parade at 5:15pm. I found a clean and shaded area at the vineyard just behind the Grizzly River Run ride. Most people like to gravitate towards Hollywood Land to find a spot along the sidewalk. But you might get the sun in your eye. Cast members will kick the party off by calling for volunteers to learn a quick dance. Kids of all ages enjoy this part and get really into it making it a spectacle for most. The most memorable Pixar characters in the parade were Sulley from Monsters Inc and the green Army men, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Mr. Potato Head, and Slinky Dog from Toy Story. They all parade along the route with various dancers and to music. I swear these cast members have the best smiles ever. They're talented too! You don't get wet, but there are miniature bubbles that are sprayed from the street lamps. So much fun. Just makes it a magical setting! Grab a churro, maybe some popcorn, and a cold bottle of water before the show starts. Or, grab a beer from Karl Strauss at Cars Land and enjoy the show. read more

I saw this parade for the first time a few years ago, and loved it! So I was shocked when I brought my family and friends to see it for their first time, and I thought to myself, "What the Hell happened to you, Pixar Play Parade?" The music was completely out-of-sync. It started before the procession happened, and there were huge gaps between the different movie segments of the parade. And no Ratatouille section? No, that's one of our favorite Pixar films! This was the procession of the different movies: - MONSTERS UNIVERSITY This used to be strictly just Monsters Inc, but now there are dancers dressed as Monsters University cheerleaders. Roz wears a Monster University ringleader outfit. - THE INCREDIBLES Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozen ride on scooters. On the Omnidroid, Jack-Jack lights his hair on fire, and Violet is inside her forcefield, but where the Hell is Dash? - FINDING NEMO Nemo, Marlin, and Dory are carried around on sticks by performers and can blink. - A BUG'S LIFE Heimlich's body parts run away from him and dance around. Flik, Atta, and Dot are on the float. Slim walks around and waves to the crowds. - TOY STORY Buzz sits on his giant float, all so lonesome, and just waves down to the crowd. Jessie and Woody are on another float. In the past, Slinky's hind legs would be walking behind him, but this time, they're just wrapped up with him on the float. WHAT? - CARS An underwhelming way to end the show. It's just Lightning McQueen and Mater. The characters and floats are certainly mesmerizing to look at. The characters will wave at you, and the performers and dancers are very talented! The costumes that the dancers wear are very cute, such as the Buzz Lightyear-inspired dresses that the dancers in the Toy Story segments wear. I was recommended by a family member to bring any applicable tourists to any parade that was actively being exhibited at Disneyland. But to do such a thing one needs to find a place to sit 30-60 minutes in advance, which we did. But the stroller took up room. Prior to the parade starting there was an announcement that we could get wet. I got wet, not surprisingly. We decided to get space at the end of the parade route so despite being on time for when the parade started it took some additional time to get down to the end of the parade route. Most of our video footage was the music playing in advance before the parade floats were actually visible. It took about 3 minutes before we visibly saw anything related to the parade. Since it was the Pixar fest, the first character that came out was Luxo the lamp and some dancers carrying the Pixar ball. Following that, it was the characters and some dancers from Monsters University. They danced around in place in front of us for about 3 minutes before moving on (the rest of the parade was fluid so it was kind of unusual), and then characters from The Incredibles showed up with an Omnidroid. The Omnidroid had a water gun on it, so I got sprayed at that point. Probably best to take out your umbrella at that point. After that there was a small gap between the next characters, which were Finding Nemo characters with dancers that were carrying the fish characters around. Then came A Bug's Life characters (not very long, it was only one movie) and then characters from Up (only Carl, Kevin, Russell, and Dug on the back of a float). The last part was Toy Story characters, starting with the Army Men and moving on to Buzz Lightyear characters and then the rest of the Toy Story cast. The last float was Woody, Jessie, Hamm, and Rex, and following that there were staff members holding a rope with a huge crowd behind them, indicating the parade was over. I have a feeling that my tourist's younglings didn't recognize the characters in the parade but then again there's sometimes obscure characters in each parade so one should probably look up their character profiles. Probably best to take a video of the parade with a GoPro one doesn't have to worry about the water. Music was pretty fast-paced compared to other parades. read more

5 stars because my daughter LOVES this parade... It has loud music, dancing, and bubbles! What kid doesn't enjoy bubbles? It features characters from Monsters Inc. The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, A Bugs Life, and Toy Story plus a short appearance by Mater from Cars Land. A trip to Disney wouldn't be complete without enjoying a parade or two. Remember to catch the one inside Disneyland as well. Oh, everyone seems to park hop between parades so the wait to get into the park next up for a parade will be longer. Plan accordingly! read more

Having an annual pass allows me to enjoy these side events and I'm so glad I saw this! Typically I will skip out on parades, using other people's preoccupied time to take advantage of shorter ride lines, but sometimes, you just gotta enjoy the scenery! I had a great spot on the curb in front of the Animation building. The parade is fairly short, about 15 minutes, but it's fun, colorful, and highly entertaining containing popular characters from Pixar. During the hotter months, they will squirt water so be careful of your electronics! It surprised me when I was taking pictures with my regular camera but they're not heavy water streams. Great way to relax and have a seat if you're in the area in DCA! read more

What a great parade. I have to admit, parades really aren't my thing, mainly because I hate having to wait around for an hour beforehand trying to secure a seat on the floor and be uncomfortable with a crowd of people around me. Luckily, this parade spans the entire park and there were plenty of seats (comfy ones) to be had. Score. We were seated towards the end and luckily the parade just happened upon us. All your favorite Pixar characters are included and the floats include bubbles and water guns. Simple fun for all ages, especially on a hot day. The music was cute and all the dancers had costumes that matched the floats they were traveling with. Great parade that I would love to sit through again! read more

Boo should've been there too but hey. The CDC trailing the float would've probably had no idea what to do with her. * THE INCREDIBLES * RATATOUILLE I couldn't remember seeing this.... but my husband assures me it was there. * FINDING NEMO * A BUG'S LIFE * TOY STORY This might be one of my favorites, even though I was never that crazy about the franchise. I love the balloons bouncing in the popper and how the Slinkie dog's tail trails behind the float. I only wish Lotso bear was incorporated. * CARS The cars mark the end of the parade and with there being no float for it, it always seems like the most underwhelming part of the parade. read more

As the name states, the parade pretty much focuses on Pixar films. Watch as some of your favorite Pixar pals sing and dance and have fun. But watch out, as their fun may also include water. The following Pixar animated movies that are presented in this parade are: Monsters Inc Incredibles Finding Nemo A Bug's Life Toy Story Roughly 15 minutes, this parade travels through Hollywood Land, Buena Vista Street, travels up to and then passing by the entrance of Cars Land, continues all the way to Paradise Pier, passing Little Mermaid, and ending up by Silly Symphony Swings. It is a long parade route. So there is a lot of room to find a spot to see the parade at. The busiest spots are along Hollywood Blvd (Hollywood Land) and Buena Vista Street. Places like Tower of Terror, Paradise Pier (Little Mermaid, Goofy's Sky School, Silly Symphony Swings) tend to be the least busiest. Many times you can find a spot as the parade is getting to that area. If you have any electronics, I would say it's best not to sit in the front. There are announcements played starting 30 minutes before parade time warning those viewing about water. But I don't think it mentioned it on the announcement before the parade actually begins. I was using an expensive camera, taking snap shots, and when the Incredibles float came by, a full on blast of water from the droids arm was shot right at my camera. The woman next to me was shocked at what just happened. After that point, I was done with the parade. I let my camera dry as I finished watching it. Afterwards, I checked my camera and it seemed like no permanent damage to it. But even though it was ok, that didn't make me feel any better of what just happened. I love this parade, it's so fun and whimsical! And with the new Monsters U movie coming out, they've revamped the Monster's Inc floats to include updated versions and characters from Monsters University! Sully and Mike are also "younger" in college apparel. Super Cute. Watch out! This is a PLAY Parade, so in the hotter summer months, they'll squirt water on you, and have bubbles appear! Don't cry, it's just water. And it's just for fun! Short and sweet. Because of the long parade route, the crowds are stretched out throughout the whole park. We were able to get a whole bench and prime sidewalk real estate for everybody in our party to watch the parade as we exited the Disney Jr. show. Officer Bob was a great cast member. He strolled the streets before the parade started and engaged the waiting crowds. What a brave man. It was late in the day, after a long day of sometimes frenzied activity. At this point, some people were exhausted and just wanted to rest their aching feet. Officer Bob, always in character, engaged these grouches and got them back into the Disney spirit. I know I was probably one of those "Oscars." He even coaxed a smile from my bored nephew who was "too old" for more than one viewing of Disney Jr. but also didn't want to just sit around doing nothing. Officer Bob cheered him up by giving him a "citation" for being a good kid. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed this parade from start to finish. Mainly because I saw someone mess up with their umbrella dance. Then there was the spinning cowgirl that wouldn't stop spinning. The song that was played was quite catchy and entertaining. I didn't feel like it dragged on. I did feel bad that everyone was dressed up doing high energy stuff while the sun melted everything. One thing to remember is that the white rope they lay down is to watch the parade. I figured that the $$$ to get in the park was more than enough to allow me to STAND up against a wall and watch, but I guess not. I think this is actually the only live action/parade thing I like so far. Just not enough to walk behind it as they pass. read more

I am 20 and don't have any kids but the Pixar Play Parade is always exciting to see! The parade song also gets stuck in my mind for days after visiting the park! This is the only parade at Disneyland and Disney California that I will actually sit down to watch! Characters from Monster's University, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, and Cars as well as other awesome cast members in the parade make this parade extremely fun and incredibly cute! When I was here a few years ago, this was by far my favorite daytime parade. (Although I was here in the summer season), I enjoyed this parade immensely. I always used to come during the hot brutal days of early July. I loved how this parade cooled me down. Between the water that came out from what seemed to be every single thing, and even when one of the Cast Members of the parade looked me square in the face, and I knew just what was coming out of the fishes mouth. I mentioned "water my (eye) glasses instead please"....and sure enough, water sprayed me, as I stated...on my glasses. I always used to try to attend this parade. It was always such a relief to cool off from a hot day, with just a bunch of spritzes of water to the face...almost the same relief given as if you were to drench your whole face in water. And if you sat near the restaurant benches near Paradise Pier, it cooled me down even more. I loved this parade. And even with a musical score that was well suited to be as playful, and with colors to the floats that matched the parade's overall themes, I well enjoyed this parade. I might have been born well before Toy Story came out, but this parade sure brought back my childhood and reminded me of the things I had forgotten about at the time. Keep up with the good ideas. This is a pretty cool parade. Water gets shot out into the audience and bubbles are released, so that's awesome. It's not too long, either, which I like, and it's usually easy to find a good place for parade watching. I'm not a huge parade fan, but I'll make an exception for this one. read more
