The food was very good. We ordered several different sandwiches, ravioli, and flatbread. The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars is because the initial table service was very slow. This place is fairly new. Heard good things about it from my sister, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a quaint little shop located in the small village of Rochester. Their specialty is Italian sandwiches. I had the turkey Panini with a side of chips. So crispy and delicious! I saw the meatball sandwich on the menu, and I believe that will be my next choice when I stop here again. You won't be disappointed. All choices are reasonably priced. I went to Scungill's based on other Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed! This is a gem. Husband and wife owned and run (with the help of a few others) sandwich shop in the small town of Rochester. I was eyeing up the "Don" but two people recommended the Turkey panini so I gave that a shot (pictured). It was spot on. Great bread warm Turkey, thin sliced tomatoes and bacon with a good amount of sauce. Paul, one of the owners heard my dog was in the car and let me know about their dog friendly patio out back. The only problem I have with a place like this is that when I come back I'll want to try something different on the menu, but I'll probably order the turkey panini again cause it was that good. Waterford has needed a nice restaurant for a long time and this fits the bill perfectly. Delicious Italian food, beer and wine. We were in the mood for lunch out today and wanted something a bit out of the ordinary but special, so ventured to Rochester to visit Scungilli's. To our surprise, we noted that Scungilli's had a Muffaletta listed as a special. We decided to give into the temptation and were very glad we did. We lived in New Orleans for 16 years and have enjoyed all the wonderful (and unusual) foods the city has to offer. Of course we had our share of Mufaletta from Napoleon House to Central Grocery. We have to say that the Mufaletta made at Scungill's was the best we have had outside New Orleans. The lightly toasted Italian bread was delicious - lightly crusted top with a tender interior. The ham, cheese and roasted red pepper slices were generous and wonderful. But oh, the home made olive salad, generously provided, was the best. The sandwich is very large so sharing one makes for a satisfying lunch. So if you want a true New Orleans creation served locally, we highly recommend enjoying a Muffaletta beautifully crafted at Scungilli's. You won't be disappointed! read more

Our first time here. It is a cute little deli. Have driven passed a few times but it wasn't open. This place is worth the trip!! We live about 40 minutes away. We had the minestrone soup and turkey panini. Both were great! We add a little mild giardiniera. The person next to us got the mushroom bisque soup and sandwich that looks tasty also!! My top favorites are the Gavone, Ham Sando, Big Fella and the Turkey Panini, all of which have generous portions. The Ham Sando is unique because it's topped with a honey mustard based Coleslaw that is divine. Not to mention the chocolate Eclair cake that is heavenly! The take and bake family meals, like the lasagna, are also a great option to consider and well worth the bang for your buck. You cannot go wrong with the Stromboli, and they run out fast! Consider them for their catering options; it's always a hit when I bring their sub trays. This a family run business, and they are the sweetest people who really pride themselves in providing the best innovative sandwiches that you can't find anywhere else, which is why they've been voted best in the county! As soon as you step in the door, you will be welcomed into their second home, and I cannot recommend this business enough!
