Nutella and banana stuffed French toast. Added strawberries.

We were seated immediately. Our waitress, Marilyn, described all the favorites of the menu. There were so many items to choose from. It was our first time there. She stated that we arrived at the perfect time (12:30) because earlier the line was out of the door. Marilyn was friendly and informative. She checked on us several times and got us what we needed. All of the staff was working hard. The only semi issue is parking but I believe street parking is available. A really nice bonus was the different syrups were WARMED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Food was enjoyable. This is a new restaurant in an older building that also contains a Subway and a gas station. Kind of a mini strip mall. I had stuffed french toast with homemade cream cheese in between two slices of Texas French Toast with a strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries on top. There were slices of banana in with the cream cheese. It was really good. Also had 2 eggs over medium. Nothing to report there. Fries were coated which im not a big fan of coated fries. Give me plain uncoated fries, preferably crinkle cut. Coating them just makes them less healthy not that fries are healthy. Not a real big place. Service was very good.

We found this place by accident and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service was great. #iraeats #iraeats1

I ordered the half garbage plate with sausage and bacon. Pro tip: ask the difference between the half and the whole before you commit. The half comes with three eggs. The whole comes with five. Five. I chose wisely. Oh and don't forget the homemade bread smothered in butter! It's clearly a neighborhood staple. People were greeting each other by name, swapping stories across tables, and operating like they've been meeting there every Saturday since 1974. Thankfully, they extend that same friendliness to random out-of-towners who just wandered in hungry. The vibe is energetic and communal, the kind of place where conversations overlap and nobody seems to mind. It has a modern, eclectic feel, but there's also a subtle time-machine quality to it. Like you stepped into the 1960s, just with better coffee and fewer ashtrays. Perfect blend of nostalgic and now.

If you're a snobby person or someone with tons of food allergies don't come here. They are irrelevant in a very good way. I would stick to the basics here. My friend got the cheeseburger with fries and it was perfect. They have fresh meat, no frozen patties. I got the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and it was perfect diner style food. The portions are huge so a half order was way more than enough. My friend had the roast beef omelette and I wouldn't recommend it because the beef was in chunks and was full of gristle. However, everything else was terrific. I didn't have the garbage plate because the portion was huge but it's on my list for next time. Maybe I'll split it with someone because you need to come hungry. Prices are very reasonable but it's cash only.

The Brewers tied in Cincinnati. The US men's national team handling Bosnia. Basically every screen in the place was must-watch TV and the bartender -- understandably distracted, perhaps -- decided that was the ideal moment to restock straws and cut fruit. We waited. In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. Maybe a 3.2 night in a 4.3 restaurant. I'd go back on a slow Tuesday in October.
