What an amazing store! We contacted them when we couldn't get the TSA combination lock open on our luggage. Ron, the owner, was able to quickly open the lock and refused to charge me anything which was very generous. Wow! So I was looking for secondhand luggage on Facebook marketplace and I noticed that SD luggage had so many great options on there so I thought why not I'll go down to their shop. It's close to where I live and I will have a look at their new and used options. Well he's a very smart businessman because I ended up buying new items which were so reasonably priced. I thought why not! I got a 2 gorgeous Swiss suitcases, one large and one over head. Great quality, great prices, amazing service. I initially found the seller through a Facebook Marketplace listing. The owner responded to my question by sending me their address and suggesting I come in to browse and check out some of their other items. They had listed a very budget-friendly samsonite carry-on luggage and I intended to only buy that item. When I arrived to the physical location, I was pleasantly surprised by a very neat and clean shop. The owner, Ron, greeted me and was very humorous and we exchanged friendly banter. I inquired about different brands of luggage and the owner was always ready to answer questions. MOST importantly, he didn't make me feel suffocated by following me around but rather took a browser-friendly approach of hanging out stand-by without disturbance until I approached with a question. He gave great insight as to the differences between the variety of luggage he had stock of. While I did find interest in their more expensive Briggs and Riley luggage, he was friendly and very "real" in suggesting that what will make me happiest is the great experience of the vacation and that I won't remember the $700 luggage but rather a $20 dollar drink that I sipped on while enjoying the beautiful view. I am always very fond of shops and owners who encourage patrons to shop in a budget friendly manner rather than pushing expensive stock for a quick money-grab. I came in because my hard shell suitcase that I bought recently had the expander zipper get stuck on the cloth material. I tried fixing it myself, but couldn't manage to get it unstuck. I also wasn't sure if I was making it worse or breaking it altogether. I called Ron and he told me he could try if i brought it in, free of charge. It was stuck pretty good, but he managed to fix it! I brought my broken tumi bag to see if he could repair a handle and he informed me I could get it repaired for free at the tumi store and just pay the shipping- he even called the tumi store directly to confirm that option was available for my bag! I had an unplanned trip and realized I needed a checked bag. After looking at the typical box stores I ran across SD Luggage. The picture on the website made all the difference. I figured if I couldn't find a bag with their inventory then I'm sunk. You walk into the store and were promptly and warmingly greeted. What I didn't realize is that they sell slightly used bags. This is perfect for me since I rarely travel. The inventory was as extensive as the website image and I easily was able to find a large piece of luggage and its matching carry-on. Located in the building next to 7-11. You can't miss the big banner. Ron, the owner was super nice and knowledgeable. I had called before I came about a potential repair. Simple repairs can be fixed by him at no charge. I came with my carry on that needed repair on the handle. The bar handle that goes up and down keeps getting caught and wouldn't retract at any of the holes. Ron couldn't fix it but suggested a simple solution of using duct tape to trap one of the holes. I appreciate his honesty. I will try that method and if it doesn't work, I'll be donating it back for another piece. I also brought an old retired hard suit case that had a lock. I no longer remember the code so it wasn't shut. You get 10% towards your next purchase for donating a piece. Ron will either repurpose them for resell or donate to others in need. I loved this! While he was attempting to fix my luggage, I took a look around and was surprised by all the stuff that this place offers. Backpacks, Packing cubes, bicycle, under garments, old and use luggage from as low as $15. While I was there, a lady came in saying she only had $20, what can she get? Ron picked out a suitcase for her that was within her budget. I ended up with a hard Delsey carry on for $29 + 10% off from donating a luggage. I went home and realized it's smaller than my other Delsey because it's not expandable. There's a 30 day return policy so I was able to bring it back to exchange for a $35 expandable suitcase and paid the difference. On this day, Ron had posted stacks of storage bins for $10 and $8 depending on size on FB Craigslist and Marketplace. One came in and bought 30 while another person bought 15. Overall, this SD luggage place is the place to go. Forget about department stores and Costco, you can get a Samsonite for $45! Aside from luggage, Ron seems to offer everything and anything that's over stocked. read more

First of all, I live in Hawaii. On a recent return to the big island Hawaii the airline I flew with demolished one of the wheels on my hard side bag. I brought it to their attention at the baggage claim area and they gave me their customer baggage brochure and sent me on my way. I got home, and after a week, I looked at the brochure and it tells me I'm already out of time to file a claim. So, I do a google search and SD Luggage comes up. I email to see if they have wheel replacement parts. I receive a message back from Ron immediately that SD Luggage does have wheels, to send photos and maybe he can match what I have. I sent photos and Ron sent me wheels. One of them was the perfect fit. His attention to detail, knowledge of the luggage is amazing. I have an upcoming trip to the Motherland and I need luggage that would last me a few weeks. I don't have any storage space to keep it long-term so I wanted to find the cheapest place to purchase luggage. I most likely will have to donate my luggage to the thrift store after my trip since I have nowhere to put it, hence why I didn't want to spend a lot. SD Luggage showed up on my FB feed a few months ago, there was an advertisement for used luggage starting at $15. I knew I had to check the place out! Their inventory ranges from new and used baggage. The used baggage starts at $15 for carry-on and the check-in size ones range from $25-$60+. I signed up for their email subscription online and I got a $5 off coupon! Woo! I found a nice plum-colored baggage that looks hardly used for only $25! There was also a check-in offer on Yelp and I got to pick out a toiletries bag from their basket. The lady I spoke with at the store said their inventory comes from Macy's. The "used" items most of them look brand new and it's because some are just returns or overstock so I guess Macy's can't put it back on the sales floor but it's still in great condition! My husband found this hidden gem on Yelp and we decided to check this place out. I'll admit I was pretty hesitant to shop at a store that only sells luggage because the prices are usually too expensive and I dont like to be bothered when I shop. No one likes a pushy salesman. I was searching for a delsey chatelet and found one. It was used and had a few minor cosmetic errors. I did notice that the zipper handle that should insert into the TSA built in lock was bent and let Ron the luggage guy know and he apologized he missed that defect and said he would try to get it fixed. He was really funny, nice and a genuine person. He texted me and said he will be in contact when it is fixed. My husband did get his luggage there today (also a delsey in the darker color) and if you are the military they offer a 10% military discount! I will send an update once I hear from Ron on if he was able to fix the luggage zipper handle. So far my experience has been great, and I would highly recommend checking this place out if you dont need a brand new piece of luggage. Ron has really great prices! UPDATE: picked up my delsey chatelet today and Ron replaced the zipper handle so its pretty much brand new. I checked in on Yelp and was able to get a free gift too. There is a basket with travel accessories for you to choose from and I grabbed 2 toiletry bags for my husband and I. I am SO HAPPY WITH MY LUGGAGE!
