We hired SD Pure Organics. They did a good job the first time and were supposed to be on monthly service however, after the first appointment, they started coming on a quarterly basis yet charging us monthly. We called and Nathan tried telling us that there had been so much rain causing things to grow real fast which was not the case. We decided to give him another chance, but after not showing up for another two months we had to fire them. We called three times land left voicemails but never got a response. Then they continued to charge our card for a monthly service. I ended up having to cancel payment with my bank and now we get monthly emails saying there's something wrong with our payment method and that we needed to update it. Most definitely unreliable, no show on days he said he'd be here, excuses of why they couldn't service our property - Lawnmower stolen, lawnmower broken, couldn't get lawnmower down the side of our property, expected irrigation maintenance and no, we have dead plants in the front of our property. Nice guy...unfortunately really bad service. I hired them to weed and remulch the yard as well as for lawn care. The weed barrier they laid down is very uneven and still has large pieces sticking out of the mulch, I was able to rake it over but I would never put my name on a job that poorly done. We were also getting irrigation installed and they recommended laying down the sod before irrigation (wrong call - they had to tear up the sod - which messed up the sod...they said they would come even it out and never showed). They constantly were no showing or being hours late and finally, they never finished the project that we paid for, and left all kinds of trash and EVEN THEIR EQUIPMENT in the yard and never came back. In the project they said they would do things they never completed - they broke one of my slow growing plants and then said they would trim and fertilize it (never did), just absolute sloppiness. I have never done any form of yard work and I am very confident I could do a better job and run a more professional business. Anyone could. But of course they kept the money for the project they never finished. Even if they offered to come finish it now or "add something for free" they just are not trustworthy and I would not take them up on it because of the amount of my time they wasted with those empty commitments. read more

I am actually afraid to write this review in fear of retaliation, but future customers need to know. Nathan first reached out to us on thumbtack. He planted 2 5 gallon trees for us. We then asked him to do a bigger project of planting all of the plants we bought for our frontyard. Thru text, my husband described and sent pictures of all the plants we were getting ready to buy. He sent the quantities of each plant to nathyn as well. He gave us a quote and said they would come the following tuesday. Monday night rolled around and my husband said Nathan never sent a time they qould be coming. Tuesday afternoon comes and they said they were leaving a job and would be heading to our house. We asked for an ETA. radio silence. NO SHOW. They said they would come back the following tuesday. They canceled the night before only after we again reached out wondering if they would be coming or not. He canceled again and said they would come saturday. We were unable to be home that day. We spoke to him over the phone. He sent pictures of it unfinished so I thought when I got home all the trash and disarray would be gone. No. WORK IS TERRIBLE. completely tore out our weed barrier. Never moved the mulch back into places where they had planted plants. The drip system already in place is left completely exposed and no mulch to cover it. The landscaping is unsmooth. They were so unbothered that places where weed barrier was exposed, they couldnt just push mulch over to it a little to cover it. Also when he showed up saturday morning he raised the price on us claiming we hadnt detailed all the plants we had. Good thing we still have our texts with him that show we told him how much needed be planted. In trying to explain to him why we didnt want him back to finish the job, over the phone he became very aggressive and hostile towards my husband. COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL over the phone and yelling at my husband. But he tries to cover it up and sound professional in texts because he knows the phone calls arent clear evidence of how he really is. I was right there with my husband when nathan started to escalate every single phone call where we tried to tell him about our dislikes. He would talk over my husband and not let us talk. Yelling aggressively and disrespectful that it seems like he needs to take classes on anger management, customer service, and business management. We have cameras in front of the house. A while back I hired Nathan to do trimming for both my front and back yards and in my experience he was friendly and mostly got the job done though it is worth mentioning he showed up over an hour late. What frustrated me was the terrible cleanup he did when he was finished with the backyard. I found piles of whacked grass HIDDEN behind the bushes and scattered throughout the yard that I had to pick up long after he was gone. While I do understand he was by himself Nathan charged me $140 for a service package that guaranteed cleanup and disposal he himself told me in-person, over the phone, and on their Thumbtack page, which is how I contacted them (the page has been disabled as of late). Nate did a fantastic job! He quickly responded with a quote of just $120 since my area was smaller than their typical "small jobs"--much better than another company that quoted me $730! Although there was a slight issue with timing, he arrived at 2:30 when the working window was 11-1, luckily it wasn't a problem for me. Nate still completed the work to the best of his abilities. He checked with me to ensure I was okay with his approach and methods, cleaned up afterward, and disposed of the green waste. Anything that didn't fit was neatly placed in a small pile for later disposal (he said there was a small fee for this, but I didn't ask the price). Nate even reduced the price due to his lateness and even offered to do a quick cleanup of my front yard for free! Lousy! Poor customer service! One star, merely because it's the only way to generate the review. Stay away from this guy. Nathan is a sham. He may talk a good game but service is sub-par. He's unreliable, non-responsive and unprofessional. To cancel service and stop getting charged fees for no work provided, he gives a B.S. excuse about a glitch in their system, directing you to their website to stop payment and end service, but the website isn't even online. I hired this company in August to seed my lawn and get rid of all the dry spots. I was paying $249 a month, which was quite a lot more than my last gardener at $100, and the lawn looks the same after 4 months. I asked about the sprinklers many times, and when we drove to the property in December, we had guisers, leaking valves, and 8 broken sprinklers. No way was the lawn going to grow in those conditions. Nathan and his crew perform the tasks I request and when there is something that I do not like they are willing to listen and adjust their routine. Prior to engaging SDPure Organics I had spoken with a few other companies and their prices seemed very much in line. A big plus for me has been communication and consistent scheduling. I have found that if I have a timing issue Nathan really does his best to accommodate and we are able to arrive at a mutually acceptable time. Last week, Nathan and his associate Nerio, from SD Pure Organics, worked on our yard (front, back and sides of the house) after it had been unattended for several months and in a mere 90 minutes or so, made it look newer than new. From lawn manicure, to hedge and tree trimming, weeding, and whatever else was needed - Nathan and Nerio brought an expertise and pride to their work that was as admirable as it was worth every penny. After the work was done, I immediately scheduled regular visits moving forward. Nathan came up with several ideas on how to maximize the potential of the landscaping around the house, all of which we hope to apply in the next few months. But that's the cool thing about these guys - they didn't just come in to "clean up" and "mow the lawn" - they came in with a vision of what the yard should and could look like and made it happen.
