As I was happy with their service from a smaller job in 2024, I rehired SDI for a new job this week, to install a 50-Amp circuit and conduit line to power a hot tub. I am extremely happy with the quality of the work they did and the communication provided throughout the job. David listened well to my concerns for maintaining the aesthetics of my patio when planning how the conduit would be routed, and his team even painted the conduit to blend in with the house color. They were resourceful in finding a solution to route the new line to the breaker box without needing to cut extra holes in the drywall. It was a clean installation. Not only were 3 outlets replaced due to a power surge but the technician noted that the outlets were installed incorrectly previously that resulted in all the outlets failing at the same time. They took $790 from me and did nothing to resolve my electrical issues. I do not recommend them for any project based on my experience. I hired SDI Electric to fix what they claimed was a wiring problem. They charge me $250 to diagnose the problem which I later came to understand was not necessary. Then they charge me another $540 to complete this work that did not fix my problem. They blamed Com Ed however COM Ed came to my location and verified that everything was normal and disputed what SDI had told me. I cannot recommend them and would caution anybody to use their due diligence before you hire SDI Electric group. read more

David from SDI Electric was one of the best contractors I've ever worked with in the many years I've been hiring folks for my rental and investment properties. He gave me a detailed scope of work at the start, walked me through all the steps, and his team showed up to do the work. There were no delaying or excuses. SDI was in the project to problem solve the electrical issues in this 100 year old house. They worked to find the best solutions for my needs. Our project was a very complicated project that required him to communicate with a very particular City inspector. I was confident and comfortable to have him talk to the Inspector directly to represent me. He worked with the City to get my electrical project inspected, make additional repair requests as per the City, and complete the project until it's final approved inspection. David worked directly with my General Contractor and coordinated with him to ensure that our house was completed, patched, and repaired in a timely manner. He sent me and our GC pictures to keep all the stages documented. Lots of transparency. We had a lot of trust between all of us. Mistakes were made by our GC, but there were no blaming one another, just problem solving and getting through it all. SDI Electric was not the lowest price but I felt that after all the effort, the problems with the City, and delays by a previous electrical contractor (review to come on that!), David and SDI Electric gave me the peace of mind and was the ultimate professional team to complete my project. David was also very nice and not condescending like many of the trades people out there. No "man-splaning" just good old "explaining"!!
