Hi ! I just moved to Chicago a few months back. I bought a 3 unit building where most of my family would be living too. I have a 90 year old mother that has medical equipment on the 1st floor and requires special dedicated circuit. In addition, when I moved I had the inspection done and the inspector told me to rewire the whole building since I have all old cloth insulated wiring. I was looking for a reliable knowledgeable contractor that would rewire my building and update the electrical system since I still had fuses. I had 4 electrical companies come in and give me estimates and STS Electric by far was the most reasonable and also very transparent when it came to pricing. At every given point I knew where I was in terms of spending money. I hired them to rewire around January and finally after weeks of dust and holes and construction my project is completed. The most important thing is that the electricians were able to find the best possible route for running the electrical pipes since most of the wiring in the building was BMX or whatever they call it. They also closed the holes and once they were done, I got a professional painter to paint and my 3 unit building is now completely rewired. They also wrote a letter for me so I can take to insurance company so I can get discount. STS Electric you guys are the best !!!! First things first: Sam, our technician, was incredible. Not only did he fix our outlet quickly and efficiently (our FRIED, MELTED, CHARRED, scary-looking outlet which could have EASILY burned down our house!) --not only did he check over other parts of our system--he took the time to explain the situation to my husband, who was at the house during the repair, and then to explain probably the EXACT same things to me for 45 minutes over the phone. He even texted me photos of the damage (which will haunt my nightmares, but that's certainly not HIS fault.) Not many techs would take the time to do that, and it was highly appreciated--especially since both my husband and I were completely freaked out by the near-miss we'd had. He was able to explain what had happened and why, and he gave us a lot of good advice about dealing with the electrical system in an older house. Along with all that: We were originally scheduled for Wednesday; Sam was able to come by and take care of it Monday. That was amazing--I'm used to companies making me wait, not stopping by in advance! One of the things Sam told us was that we should start planning for a few years down the road, because we will probably need to invest a good chunk of money to update the electrical systems in our two-flat. I called today and received same day service. The lady placed my on hold for one minute but as I was about to hang up she came back and told me an electrician can come today and check the electrical problem I am having with my panel. When he arrived, he showed me his license and business card and very respectfully asked if he should take his shoes out. Very respectful guy. He opened the panel and saw the electrical box was burning and needed to be replaced right away. He showed me the melted wiring and breakers. I told him to immediately turn the power off. He gave me the cost of how much it would cost and then said if I would like others to give me an estimate I could do that. I just did that and got estimates from another couple of companies and I will tell you that the guy from STS was upfront honest and these other two companies were very unprofessional and did not even think a permit was neccessary. It's not often you get that good old fashion service. You know the ones, that they do exactly what you tell them to do and then they clean up after themselves, professional and ask if you are happy with the job. Yes I am. These guys were so professional and meticulous that I am taking the time to actually write. Normally, I don't even bother. They were personable, arrived on time as they said. They would text or call days they would be late to work letting me know what time they will arrive. Made sure all my hardwood floors were covered and my furniture was put back where they moved from. They would point out anything that they saw as fire hazard and just advised me ... no hard sell to get it done now. They gave reasonable cost for the electrical work. Communication was excellent. Rewiring my 100 yr old home was a task.. I will tell you I feel so great choosing STS to do the job since they are very familiar with these kind of homes. I did something really stupid. I pushed my outlet panel back into the wall, creating a huge spark. The whole place stunk like smoke, and I thought my condo was going up in flames. It was a Saturday and I was freaking out. Turns out it wasn't so severe, and I was fine to flip the breaker and power back the two rooms that had gone black. I only found this out, though, because my call routed directly to one of STS's supervisors, and he answeredl, quite candidly telling me, "give me a few minutes right here on the phone, and I'll save you a couple hundred bucks." Six minutes later, I restored power back to both rooms, and I was thanking him profusely. I'm unspeakably grateful for the supervisor's honesty, and his willingness to just walk me through the solution, rather than charging me for an off-hour weekend visit. God forbid I ever have a REAL electric emergency, but if I do, STS's caring and decency has earned my business. I'll be calling them first. read more

Licensed electrician was the thing I was looking for, as I had troubles with the previous one I used. My friend Terry told me about STS Electric and I decided to give them a try, turned to be real professionals, thank you for that and keep up the great work. Electricians took the extra time and care needed to assess and rewire our apartment, while explaining the process and costs throughout. We recently moved and needed work done at our rental property; its a 4 unit buidling. We looked at several electrical contractors and ended up going with STS Electric. They are the best to work with. They deliver what they promise and much more. Their work is impeccable.. Arrived on time and careful of all the tenants' belongings. They execute creatively to take care of things, they suggest alternative routes and options and they are very patient. They called the tenants and arranged all and kept me updated. The service at this organization was AMAZING!!!! The grand opening for our business in Chicago was scheduled Monday and when we went to put the final touches on the business we discovered that the outlets where are refrigerators and freezers were had no power going to them. We tried the circuit breaker and everything and could not figure out the problem. I called STS and spoke to a gentleman that told me they were backed up and could come Monday. He must have sensed the urgency and disappointment in my voice because he called back five minutes later to tell me they could be there within the next couple of hours. My wife works full time in his job so basically I am the one who manages our home especially for the kids. Recently, I've noticed that our lights dimming at random and irregular times. I've shared this matter to our neighborhood and she told me that it is a symptom of the electrical circuit just like what happened to them a few years ago. Great Electricians! Great service. I had just bought a volt and needed and charger installed in my garage. They ran new line from the circuit box and made sure the charger was installed safely away so it's not easily accessed by children. They ground d the circuit and tested all before they left. They installed an electric vehicle charger for me. The electricians are very well informed and know electric codes well. After they completed my job, I had them go to my cousin who owns a two flat building. They did a major rewire and my cousin is very happy with the work. Great guys to work with. read more

I had a fallen tree in recent storm breaking my power line and damaging wiring inside and outside of the house. I called STS and they arrived promptly to repair the damage so my electricity could be restored. Electricians Francisco and Rudy worked many hours and did an excellent job including cleaning up at the end of each day and protecting my floors with paper while they worked here. I've used other electricians and electrical companies before and was not impressed. STS Electric sent Mike out to my home to get some lights fixed. I couldn't be happier with him. He was very professional and he made sure I was aware of what was going on and what he did to fix my issues. He was on time, very courteous, and very clean.
