Researched Mexican food as we were heading through Pocatello to stop for a bite to eat. The restaurant is pieced together, half used as storage. Instead of staying, we decided to grab to go. The only burrito offered without sauce is a 12 inch and stuffed with enough food to feed four people. Certainly not a to go place and they question their cleanliness. read more

Absolutely the worst Mexican restaurant I've witnessed in my 74 yrs. Should have listened to my gut feeling after tasting the salsa & just left before ordering. Once the food arrived it went south from there, had one bite & had enough. Waitress asked if everything was OK & I gave my opinion in which it was taken as insult of the business. She relayed my comments to the owner whom threatened physical harm if I didn't leave immediately. Good for him he didn't touch me which would have included enhancement charges of senior over 65 and US 100% disabled veteran. read more

They have a foot long burrito! We ordered the 12 inch smothered burrito with ground beef. The beef was flavorful and there was plenty. There was also rice and cheese and beans in it. It came with some lettuce and tomatoes. The enchilada sauce was red and good. I've had better sauce but this whole HUGE burrito was very tasty. Chips and salsa was good. The salsa was chunky which I like. Restaurant and restrooms were old but clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a quick stop visit but we would come again when passing through Pocatello. Oh. Me and my hubby shared this monster burrito and we couldn't finish it! read more

We have eaten here previously many years ago and wanted to try it again, so we stopped on our way through. The staff was extremely friendly, while also professional. I had my service dog with me. They absolutely welcomed her, and even came over to say hello and to thank us for bringing her in. The food was amazing, and the restaurant was extremely clean! The one foot burrito was not only LARGE, but also very delicious. We had sweet pork in ours. The cheese enchiladas were also tasty. The chimi changas look like something I will need to try next time. I didn't think my chicken a la Creme was as good as others I have tried, but I appreciated the fresh mushrooms and the quality of the rice. The service was also excellent. 2/10/16. Senor Iguanas Cute little place with Taco Bell level tables and chairs but real plates and forks I had great service from Crystal. Even though she had many other tables, she was extremely efficient at multi tasking and also very friendly and helpful! 10/10 for service from Crystal Justin was also great in the dining room. Caleb the owner was around and he even took some time to come over and to ask how everything was and offer some slightly more spicy salsa! I love me some spice!! The Iguana sauce is a must try... Was in town visiting friends in Pocatello and they brought me to Senor Iguanas. We came in thru the bar entrance and were seated right away. I wasn't real hungry so I just ordered the Chicken Tostada which was about $7.50. It was good, nothing spectacular, definitely good enough to return to, but not equal to some of the better places in Caldwell. Biggest downside was the payment process waiting in line to a slow cashier as she tried to ring up multiple smaller groups. read more

I like Mexican food - all types from authentic Mexican, to Tex-Mex, and California styles. I've learned the hard way to avoid such fare in the deep south and I wasn't expecting much from a Mexican place in small town Idaho. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! While most of the menu is as predictable as the minimal decor, there were a few stand outs including the best shredded beef chimchangas I have ever had!!! They are crisp and smothered in a a home made red enchilada sauce, topped with sour cream and guacamole, and then topped with black olives, tomatoes, onions, and shredded lettuce. When I have to travel along I-15 I try to plan a meal stop here. It's still as good as when I tried it over 10 yrs ago! read more

If Caleb isn't associated with this place anymore, stay away! I ate there Friday Feb 25 2022. It took an hour to get the food. (People that came in after us got theirs before we did) When the food came, the plates were ice cold, the beans were cold, the cheese on the beans wasn't even melted. Rice was lukewarm. My date's entrée looked overcooked. My Enchilada was burnt (the cheese). We had to send the beans and rice back to get warmed up. Server did offer to redo our order, but we didn't want to wait that long for new food. To top it off, I don't know if there is a new owner or manager, but this individual kept going behind the bar and refilling his beer. 13 Times while we were there! Not looking good for running business. Even if he's just a regular they let go behind the bar and help himself, we were not impressed with this guy. The servers were good and nothing was their fault. I think their switching back and forth probably accounted for our order getting lost in the shuffle, but they remained friendly! I know they're short staffed, but even the cook was being rude to one of the servers while he was picking up a table's order. I've never had a bad experience with this place until this night, so this really stinks that I have to post this, but you need to stay away if this is any indication of how things are done now. read more

As my first foray into mexican food in town, I stopped at Senor Iguana's. It seems to do a great business. Even with it being busy, the service was great! I ordered fajitas. It tasted pretty good and the price was reasonable. the margaitas were fine, too. I will have to order other things off the menu and will revise the review based on that. It was definitely a decent place to eat Mexican fare, but fajitas are a poor barometer of the quality of a Mexican restaurant. read more

This place used to be four star Mexican food to me but that was almost four years ago now. I visited this restaurant with my family of five on Tuesday night around seven PM and if my memory serves me right there were only three other tables sat. The service was so slow and so poor that I literally had to yell across the room at my server to ask for water who was standing there at the bar just talking to the other server. But let's just say we for get about the service for a minute and talk about the restaurant and food. The restaurant seriously needs an update. It's ugly and dated and has not changed since I can remember and I was raised in Pocatello. The food was DISAPPOINTING. The tamale was dry as was my shredded beef taquito. The beans and rice were okay but not worth it. And for my very gross meal I paid too much IMO. I will probably never return to this place and I hope I can find another Mexican restaurant to fill my Mexican food cravings. read more

I decided to cater a last minute function at my business for Cinco de Mayo. I called multiple restaurants who said they were booked. Caleb asked me how many adults would be eating, and since my plan was on the small side he said he could fit it in. We discussed an impromptu menu and decided on a price. Caleb, the restaurant owner, showed up at my shop and brought more food than I could possibly justify for the cost. He set up all the entrees and sides and brought utensils, plates, napkins, everything. He made sure everything was placed and set perfectly before leaving, and even called back later to ask how everything was and if we were satisfied. After being on hold for a couple minutes, because I was busy with a client, I assured him that everything was great. And that I couldn't be happier, being squeezed in at the last minute none the less. I will be sending all my business to Senor Iguanas in the future and can't wait to do business with them again. read more

Good selection of dishes, close proximity to freeway for travelers, excellent chile verde, Aztec chicken good, but chicken a tad tougher than in preferred, nice flour tortillas. Excellent service by the lone gal serving the evening we were there (even though she was overworked due to a previous coworker flaking out and with a brand new replacement server). Kudos to her!
